A bar of soap is shampoo, facial wash, body wash and bug bite cure. Hair and nails are self cut. My dogs—Shih Tzu and Field Cocker—get beauty treatments every other month to the tune of a hundred bucks.
I think the original post might work quite well as free verse. You should maybe try the New Yorker. Imagine the complexity of your satisfaction if it were accepted.
