    Books on Prose Style

Discussion in 'Word Mechanics' started by waitingforzion, Mar 15, 2016.

One of the books I read on writing,"Style: Ten Lessons on Clarity and Grace", helped me learn how to write clearly. Can you recommend any other books about style that might be helpful to writers, with particular emphasis on the music of words, covering not just the basics of rhetorical devices, but also the more advanced principles of cadence itself. It would be helpful to read a book that explains how to remain clear while choosing different words and arranging them for rhythmic effect.
