I'm loath to be overly critical of anyone that manages to get a book published, never mind something as well regarded as Catch 22. I read it over 30years ago and recently extolled its virtues on this forum. So much so,I read it again. Should have stuck with my 30 year old fond memories.
You're agreeing that it didn't hold up? "Total shit" is probably a bit too strong, but, just... unreadable?
