Most of the books I've had to read for educational purposes have been dire. I did really enjoy the Sherlock Holmes short stories though - they're something that I would not have picked up if I hadn't been required to read them for my course.
Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov Goodbye to Berlin by Christopher Isherwood. I have been made to read many, many books over the years at school or sixth form or uni or at book clubs, and these are the only three that I would say I ended up loving. I am useless at reading when I feel compelled to read something though. I find distractions and can't bring myself to sit down and read it, even though I love reading and know there is a good chance I'll enjoy the book. It's terrible!
