Cats. I have always liked cats better because they can take care of themselves. A kitten knows where to use the restroom after a while. A cat can do everything on it's own. And doesn't need as much attention as a dog.
I can't load pics for some frustrating reason right now, but overall, I'm a cat person. However, I did have the privlege of adopting my husbands' ex fiance's Great Dane when she up and decided she no longer wanted to care for him. His name was Henry, and if I'd known how mellow and smart he was before adopting him, I would have adopted 2 more Great Danes. They are awesome companions, and such gentle giants. It's the only breed of dog that would truly convert me from Cat Person to Dog Person.
Cats. I am sort of biased on that one though, so my opinion may or may not count. I have never had a dog but have always had at least three cats at a time. I cannot have a dog untill I move out of my house (Once I have completed high school) because My mom was attacked by one when she was young and almost died from suffocation and she has the constant fear of them.. (which I don't blame her, but I don't have the fear, but It's based on bad experiences right?) So Im a bit biased but I say cats They're lovely companions, my three cats, over 20 chickens and a rabitt help me think straight when I'm feeling down.. (I know it sounds silly but my animals are like family, so If Im feeling down I go outside play with my cats or sit beside the chicken and rabitt cage and just feel better after a while)
I like them both... I cant imagine living without a dog in my life (it is hard to do come home to an empty apartment while I'm away at college). There is a special bond you can have with your dog that you cant get with a cat.
DOGS FTW! Anyway, this sounds strikingly similar of a scenario to my book Terra. Cats and Dogs...and then my other new races...
I guess its Cats for me. I pretty much grew up around cats. For a long time no one in my family seemed to own a dog. My grandpa... or maybe it was one of my uncles had a dog when I was a little kid. Not sure what happened to him/her. But I love cats. But dogs are really cool too.
If by "chill" you mean "completely ignore you until they want something to eat" then yes, cats tend to chill... I've owned both cats (four) and dogs (two) and it'll always be dogs for me, they're just that much more companionable. "A dog is a man's best friend"
Dogs. I would rather give the dog the extra attention than have a lazy/lounging cat around the house. I also do not care much for lap animals and here is the main reason I like dogs more.
Dogs and I are very simpatico. I have met very few dogs I didn't get along well with immediately. And that includes a large, very protective Rottweiler a friend of mine owned, and a "Belgian Shepherd" named Satan that only a handful of people could approach without risking the loss of a limb. Satan was rescued/tamed from the wild, and had been hit on more than one occasion by shotgun pellets - he may have been part wolf. Nearly all dogs can be lap dogs. My mother's Doberman used to curl up in my lap, which was fine exceptg when he would see a squirrel and launch himself in pursuit. Cats can be okay, but dogs are the best people.
Cats. My family has always been a cat family. Cats are independent, self sufficient and cuter too. Plus, I'm scared of dogs.
I love both equally but in different ways. I have 4 dogs and 5 cats and each one has a distinct personality. My relationship with each one is different but I love all of them. I don't think I could ever chose one or the other. I've always had several of each and I like it that way. The dogs definitely require more work but they are worth it. Especially when my two growling saint bernards scare away the door-to-door salesman. Of course, the "Trespassers will be eaten" sign on the door helps, too. Works better than a no soliciting sign ever did.
Cats all the way!!! I grew up with both and I love dogs as well but cats are so much choosier in who they love. They don't just wag their tail at all and greet with an open heart, which if a dog is a family pet and not a trained killer, they usually do. Cats will pick if they like your or hate you and stick to that decision. Cogito...your wolf comment cracked me up, funny stuff Ella xx
Dogs all the way. Cats have that attitude to them of being too cool for the world, whereas most dogs are genuinely loveable and loyal. They really are members of the family, sympathetic and far more human in their emotions and intelligence. More needy, perhaps, but far more my cup of tea than an aloof thing that always appears to be plotting to take over the world.
I didn't say that man was dog's best friend. Dogs have been used by humankind for thousands of years, why? Because they are very intelligent, highly useful and, above all, exceptionally loyal. You treat a dog right and you'll have a friend for life. You treat a cat right and the only thanks you'll get is meowing at dinner-time and a purring wake-up call at stupid-o'clock in the morning.
Absolutely wrong. My old house cat who recently passed. Use to come into my room whenever I was sad as a kid. I cry and he'd walk in, hop on my lap and sit there and purr until I was all right.
Haha. I said I prefer cats. Dogs can be beautiful too. In truth I like white wolves and large dogs, like huskies, over some breeds of cat - I don't particularly like the Sphinx cat - But generally, I prefer cats.
