Kyris: Well, it all started when Father sent me on a diplomatic mission to Ares, the planet closest to ours, in his place. The reason he did not go himself is that one of my sisters is getting married soon so he is busy with the preparations. That was what he told me, anyway. When I arrived on Ares I found out that Father and the Chieftain of Ares were discussing marriage between one of the Chieftain’s daugthers and myself. Luckily neither her nor me are interested in the match so we managed to talk her father into calling it off. On the way home I called Father and we got into an argument about what he had done. I needed to be alone so I took one of the shuttles and left. Davian: That is when my crew and I found him. He did manage to trick us into believing he is someone else at first, but eventually the truth came out as it tend to do. Such an opportunity is too good to pass up so now we are ransoming him. Luekas: I still say we should have just killed him... Kyris: He got married. To one of my sisters. Jefrye: That is not what it sounds like. In our culture we could have stayed together despite my marriage. Its like this, we have marriage and we have what we call concubine contracts. If Kyris just agreed to enter such a contract with me, then no one would care. Kyris: After Mother, who was a concubine, killed herself because Father neglected her?! No! I will not risk you, Tamira or myself hurting like that. I made my choice, and I stand by it.
Amber: *To Davian* That's not really good to ransom...you could go to jail for that. (turns to Luekas) You also would go to jail for that if you want to be a murderer and kill him. Rebecca: Do he even love your sister? In our world, we don't have concubines and again, it's not our culture.
Davian: We are pirates, remember? How did you think we make a living? *looks at Luekas* I do have my rules, however, and among them unneccessary killing is at the top of the list. Luekas: *mumbles to himself* Just because he tickles your fancy... You are going to get us caught, I just know it. Jefrye: I do. It isn’t in any way the same as the love I have for Kyris, but I still care for Tamira very much. But despite that there is no denying that my marriage is political rather than romantic. And Tamira feels the same about the whole thing.
Jefrye: Either of us could have refused if we wanted. That would have affected our social standing and in my case also my career, though, so I saw no reason to say no. Well, until Kyris told me he didn’t want to be in a relationship with me anymore, that is. But by then it was to late to call the wedding off. Davian: Law enforcement? That’s funny, considering we already have one of those present. *nods toward Jefrye* Attack Dog over there is the admiral in charge of capturing pirates back in our world. Luekas: Of course we steal treasure, what sort of pirates would we be if we didn’t?
Davian: There was another person here before who said about the same things you are, so let’s just drop it right now. It is obvious that no matter what either of us say, neither of us will change their opinion about it. Kyris: *to Amber, Rebecca and Thorn* From what I recall you guys are able to travel to other planets just like us, right? How many inhabited planets do you know of and how many have you been to?
Amber: *sighs* Fine...(turns to Kyris) Ok this will be long sooo the inhabited planets I've been to are: Earth, Mars, Europa, Uranus, Jupiter, Korus, Londean, Posidon, Jloye, Fverish, Bollen, and StarsField. So I've been to 12 planets in total.
Sapphire: I'm actually a healer as well. I wasn't always, but for the past few years, I was apprenticed to a healer and apothecary, and she taught me the magic she uses. Katsumi: That is...a lot of planets.
Kyris: So sorry I forgot to answer this before. Pantheon is a word used to refer to a group of gods and goddesses and can be used by various religions. The ones we Gaeans used to worship were neither good nor evil. They could help you with your problems or make them worse depending on their own mood. Some were more prone to help than others, though. Jefrye: That is indeed many planets. I thought we had many inhabited planets in our system but that has us beat. Kyris: No, I think some of them are from different planetary systems. Which means that they have more advanced ships than we currently do. Davian: Same system or not, I bet there are lots of opportunities to make some money on those planets. Too bad I can't go there. Would have been nice getting some work done without Attack Dog snapping at my heels.
Shiro: Absolutely fascinating. Please tell me, Miss Amber, have you advanced to a state where travelling to a new planet is equivalent to travelling to a new country? It seems to be remarkably easy, considering what I know about the distance between planets. Shiro: How organized! Never had I heard of such a notion. I imagine you didn't have too many gods, if you could casually group them up like that. If I may, Lord Kyris, why did your people lose faith in your gods? They are very important beings that protect the humans from the many wraths of nature, as well as give them higher goals to dedicate their lives to. What could have possibly replaced them?
Kyris: I can't speak for their world, but I do know that in our world it is just like that. Traveling from Gaea to the other planets in the Helios system is no harder than going from one place on the planet to another. Takes longer time, of course. Going from Gaea to our closest neighbor planet takes almost two days. Kyris: I believe there were around a dozen of them... We started to stop believing in them because what was believed to be their handiwork could be proven with science more and more, like how day turns to night and how the seasons come and go. It was knowledge that replaced old superstitions.
Amber: It's really easy, again you can do it with place travel or travel with rockets. Only few people from my world could teleport to places--even planets.
Thorn: *to Kyris* Actually only 2 of the planet are from other galaxies. The rest are in our system. Amber: Ships? Usually place or planet travel or teleportation is much easier. (turns to Davian) You could make money there. But our technology is being improved and fixed before giving those technology out to the other worlds. May I ask...what is Attack Dog-? Sounds like a nickname that people would give to dogs.
Kyris: Sounds like your planetary system might be bigger than ours then. Jefrye: And it also sounds like your technology might be more advanced than ours too. Ships are the only way we can go from one planet to another. Kyris: We do have teleportation devices but they do not work at the kind of distance you get between two planets. Exactly how does your teleportation work? Luekas: And you seem to have misunderstood Captain. With opportunity to make money he meant things to steal and people to ransom. Davian: Attack Dog isn’t a what, but a who. Namely— Jefrye: Me. He means me. Attack Dog is what the pirates have come to call me back in our world.
Amber: Europa used to be a moon of Jupiter but since the planet grew in size, it's considered a planet now. Thorn: *to Kyris* There are people teleport with magic, but magic like that is hard to do so only a few people can do that. Just like you, we have teleportation devices just like you guys.
Kyris: A moon grew to the size of a planet? I know stars change their mass over time, but I have never heard of a moon or a planet doing that. How is that possible? Jefrye: Our teleportation devices isn’t that powerful, to be honest. Kyris: Yeah, their range is only enough to work within the city they are located in. And they are not very movable either, given their sizes.
Thorn: I have no idea. Some scientists theorized that some molten rocks hit Europa and mold it's shape and making it bigger. But there's no proof in that it just--happens.
Shiro: If, with all of your advances in science, you still can't explain such a phenomenon, then perhaps the answer is that it was a deity's work? Certainly, a higher god could change the size of a world, so perhaps they simply have? Besides, when you hit throw rocks at something, it only breaks, not be built up.
Thorn: What's a deity? And no, there are no other gods that could change that. If they do, they could have informed me. I almost died when the rock hit Europa and formed it into a planet. Unless they're planning to kill me. The rock that hit the planet is a molten rock. Molten rocks are kinda a mix of solid and liquid. The molten rock hardens when it hit the cool surface like Europa.
Kyris: That actually sounds quite unlikely to me. At least it would not be possible due to how the laws of physics work in our world. Jefrye: Speaking of moons, Gaea doesn’t have any moons at all. Instead we have a belt of small asteroids surrounding our planet. Kyris: It is believed among scientists that those asteroids were one or two moons at one point. But if that is true that was so long ago that they were destroyed before the days of our oldest ancestors. We are talking possibly many billions of years ago.
Kyris: As I said it happened billions of years ago, so no one knows for certain. The most likely cause would be that a asteroid or something hit them and they shattered.
