Synder: *let's out a ling sigh* Men. Nate: Ha! The destroyer is speechless! *crackles slapping his leg*
Jason: -nods- "Ah, yes, men. It's a pity you must put up with our mannish ways m'lady. Oh! Would you like to meet Sharon? She's my girlfriend!"
Synder: *Snickers covering my mouth* Seems like that might be for the best before ya earn yourself a reputation. Nate: Naw naw. Nothing wrong with a little harmless flirting. 'Sides, we both know you ain't the trusting type there Syn. Why once I saw her do this unpleasant business with an ole boys... Well business. Made my eyes water for a week. Say. Mr. Rishnarnarn. Sorry if'n I slaughtered your name, but how's the weather 'n your neck o the woods?
Vanna: You were flirting with me? I had no idea! I'm sorry - I don't really want to be flirted with. Bonnie: I say, what's "flirting"? Vanna: Never mind.
Jason: "My lady, you wound me. Here I try to brighten your day and you reject me!" -exaggerated pout-
Vanna: Jolly nice. Back at school, it's September. I spent my Summer in Kashmir, getting to know my dad. It's unbelievably hot over there.
Jason: "I- I'm sorry? I didn't mean to upset you. I was just trying to be friendly too. A lady such as- no that's wrong isn't it? I'm sorry. Please don't be mad."
Jason: -takes her hand- "Pax. But, um, if I'm not suppose to talk to you like that, how should I? That's the only way I know how to talk to girls."
Jason: "Like your supposed to talk to boys. But that's different than talking to girls. Girls are more delicate, you have to be nicer to them. Boys are. . . rough. Crude. Mean. I don't like them very much."
Alec: Boss, where do you want me to start? Charlie: I'm not getting involved in this. Alec: OK, Jason, I respect you think you're "supposed to" do something, but wouldn't it be nicer to talk to a girl the way she asked you to talk to her? Wouldn't you doing your own thing, even after she said it made her uncomfortable, be more rude? Girls are just people, just talk to her like she's a person. Amy: Also, about the whole "girls are delicate, boys are rough" – Alec: Hey, you remember this ain't the Bar, right? Amy: ... Right, thanks. Anyway, Jason – wow, this is uncomfortable, talking to a guy with my brother's name about something I would rather die than let my brother find out. Charlie: You want either of us to take this? Amy: Thanks, but I should be good. Jason, if you were to take a stroll over to the Bar, do you think you'd still call me and some of the other women there "delicate" after seeing some of the fights we've gotten into?
Jason: "Um, thanks for the advice. I'll try it? Um, I guess I'm just used to how my dad did things. But he did get in a lot of trouble cause of how he was. We had to sneak out of several towns cause he'd been indiscreet with someone else's wife. Not that I'd ever do that! It's just- how I learned to do things. Thank you for the offer, but I'd, rather not go to the bar? I just- I'd rather stay where it's, um, safer. I know some girls are rough, Sharon pushes me around a lot, but she's really delicate inside. If I said anything mean to her she'd- she wouldn't take it well. And she likes it when I treat her like that! Punching my arm and telling me I'm an idiot is just her way of saying she cares."
Vanna: Just, don't flirt, alright. Just say what you want to say, without worrying about how to phrase it. I'll be honest and say that I've got used to the 1930s upper-middle-class life, where kids are a lot younger, if you understand what I'm trying to say. No-one's ever flirted with me before.
Synder: *snorts* Jason, girls, or more appropriately women, are no different than men. When Nate gives me hell about being meaner than a rattlesnake, I don't take it personally. It's more of a compliment in our world. It takes that to survive here. Nate: I once saw a woman disembowel a walker, then saunter back into the kitchen to make her husband and little 'ns breakfast. Fairer skinned, maybe, but delicate, not in our world.
Jason: "Um, sure, okay." Jason: "Thank you for that mental image. I really appreciate it. I guess some of it might be down to differences in worlds. My world can be rough, but not that rough. This country is worse than most. Sharon's and me suffered because of their laws, and Fredrick was a soldier fighting against them till he got hurt. I should watch Fredrick, see how he does things. He'll be a good example on how to interact with women without seeming like you want something."
