Fae: *smiles back at Anton* I aim to please that way. Acquaintances are easy to come by, but friends can die so I don't have many...I have two and one's dead.

Sacha: That means you have one.

Fae: *shoots Sacha a glare* Thank you, Mr. Obvious.

Sacha: *a smile is his answer to the glare before he turns towards Jade* Where do you come from, then?

Fae: *he mumbles incoherently beneath hid breath, likely something about Sacha* I think the author's job to make as many people hate them as possible.

*It's been a while, Arc and Sarah have left, but May returned. Jack has just finished catching May up on the conversation*

May: I've been trying to stay nice for this, but my fuse is kind of short right now. Frankly, Anton, I'm disgusted that you and Koshka would treat each other like you do. Friends shouldn't act that way to each other.

Jack: They've already said that they aren't.

    May: Hmph.

Jack: Anyways, there're new people and you should make a good first impression. Let's be honest, you're acting like a brat right now.

May: Sure, I'll try. *clears throat* Hey, Fae and Sacha, the name's May, no last name. Sarah tells me I'm the emotional one, but I guess that's obvious. I punch what I don't like and I punch hard. Guess I lack finesse as well, huh? Sorry, temper, I know. Anyway, you shouldn't judge Arc's word so quickly, because you don't know him. He has his reasons.

Jack: Well, I have a question for Jade and Sapphire. Are you two family, or is it just a coincidence that you're both named after gemstones?

May: I agree with you, Mishu. Did you know my author made it my fault that my best friend died? And now I have temper problems and cry a lot. Talk about harsh. I'm sure authors only make us to torture us.

Jack: But, don't we get a happy ending?

    May: That's no excuse.

Jade: It's just the author's obsession with Steven Universe and love of those names.

Sapphire: Oh, poor you, you cry a lot and it's your fault your friend is dead. Get back to me when--

Kathryn: Sapph, let's not antagonize them. Trauma is relative.

Sapphire: *clenches teeth* I know. Sorry.

Cara: I mean, at least you get a happy ending.

Jade: I'm pretty sure she's thinking about letting me live, so that's something.

Cara: Yeah, but...you know how she is.

Isabel: Cruel? Yeah, no sh*t. I'm pretty sure that's kinda what authors do.

Fae: I prefer more...tactical measures in dealing with what I don't like. Punching's fun, but...*he rolls his shoulders in a shrug* ...nothing quite beats a needle here or there...and I'm not judging him. I'm judging the idea of fighting being black and white.

    Sacha: How philosophical.

Fae: You can speak more than two words together if you want.

Sacha: And ruin my chances of seeing you work yourself up? You know how I love it when you sweat.

Fae: *he wrinkles his nose at the comment* You're being crass. We're in public.

Sacha: That has never stopped you before.

Fae: *there is some debate as to how he should respond before he can only wince and shake his head* I think I've heard of Steven Universe...our author simply gives us happy endings on occasion and gave me this charming personality.

May: Oi, Sapphire, you're name's about to permanently change to "Punch Dummy." Back off.

Jack: You back off, May! You're only making things worse.

    May: Worse for Punch Dummy.

Jack: Ugh! I, I think we should just leave. I assure you that May won't be back anytime soon, due to her behavior.

May: Don't I get a say in this?!

    Jack: Absolutely not.

    *Both leave*

Sapphire: ...did I just drive them off? *beat* I--sorry. *she walks away*

Kathryn: Un, koreha konrandesu. *she goes after Sapphire*

    Isabel: They'll be back.

Jade: This is a f*cking train wreck.

Jasmine: You're back! You girls are back! The angry ones who don't like sisters! We've missed you!

Vanna: Jasmine, please be diplomatic. She didn't mean offence, she just - well, you've met her.

Elsie: Your name's May? That's our headmistress' name. She's very nice - it's a pity the same can't be said for you.

Henrietta: Do not worry, Beta, you have not been forgotten. Our author was simply busy. The guest was a French Comtesse who was poisoned by her husband before she could return to a lover. It was a difficult time for all of us, as we stood to lose our alliance with France, especially as my brother had been implicated. The children, also, had to be supported through this trauma. I solved the case for them, by carrying out searches and often reading their correspondence - quite a breach of etiquette, I am aware, but I feel it justified if it is to solve a murder and clear someone's name - I also conducted interviews, in only one case without some kind of cover and just once saying that I was attempting to solve the case - unfortunately, it was to the husband, who I thought would be delighted, or as delighted as one can be after losing one's wife. I also once ended up making visits around our capital city and even riding in pursuit of a servant - alas, a red herring. I hope I can be of service to you.

Cara: ...the angry ones who don't like sisters?

Isabel: On the one hand, that seems to fit us more than anyone else. On the other hand, that's relative.

    (Kathryn returns, Sapphire in tow)

    Kathryn: Did we miss anything?

Jade: That Jasmine girl referred to a group of girls here as "the angry ones who don't like sisters." We're trying to figure out if she was talking about us.

    (beat)

    Kathryn: Sapphire, are you alright?

    Sapphire: I'm fine.

Vanna: Well, seeing as you are the only gang of girls here...

    Jasmine: We missed you!

Cis: Exactly. Don't mind Jasmine - she was probably referring to that corking row you had when someone lit a candle.

Vanna: We all extend our condolences about your sister, Sapphire, and I apologise about May's remarks.

Elsie: Why, aren't you ever the peacemaker? I'm sorry for something said by someone I've only known for a few minutes!

Jade: What am I, chopped liver?

Kathryn: We missed you, but we waited for ages with no responses. It is not our fault that people decided to show up when the author had given up hope that this would ever come back.

Sapphire: (Her voice is controlled) I'm unsure of what a corking row is, but it does not sound good. I don't require anybody's sympathy. On that note, can we please change the subject?

Sarah: Allow me to apologize first. May should not have acted that way, and we should not have left her with only Jack to supervise. I have sent Arc to help calm her down. She will be more controlled next time.

I am curious, Jade, Katheryn, Sapphire, Isabel, and Cara, about the nature of your group being together? Jack mentioned that some of you might not be from the same time period as the others, but I could not understand what she meant. Was she wrong, or am I missing something?

Vanna: Sorry, Jade. A group of girls, and Jade. It's been a while. And as for the no responses, I'm sure you'll agree that we'd exhausted all topics of conversation and what this chatroom needed was fresh blood. Someone asked over in another thread if anyone wanted to chat with their characters, so EMR saw a golden opportunity to revive her favourite thread.

Paula: That said, they didn't stay for very long, did they?

Jade: Eh, it's nothing complex. The three of us, *they gesture to themself, Cara, and Isabel* are from 21st-century America. Those two, *pointing over at Sapphire and Kathryn* are from a sort of medieval fantasy kind of thing with an altered history. Oh, and none of us are straight.

Anton: Well, Prince Beta, Koshka simply fled from the keen and astute comment about his lack of finesse from Fae, and, for some strange, puzzling reason, May believes that Koshka an I are friends... I shudder at the mere thought of having a party around him... probably his concept of party is to stare a whole day looking at one of those cubist pieces of crap that he likes so much! I'm hanging around, anyway, but I must confess that Princess Henrietta's initiative is something quite awesome, for someone from royalty! Royals that are able to get things done are good in my book. Most of my research involves, well, prodding other people's garbage, mostly. I can't get too illegal on my ways, since a single slip and I'll get my license revoked. *good for me, my "happy powder" ain't illegal to sniff. To get, it's another issue.* But well, I love interviews too! Koshka just, well, does things; very painful, mean things, to get what he wants. I think he craves beauty for his lack of human finesse, to be honest.

Sarah: You should not take that to heart, Anton. Do to Arc and May's inherently violent past, they often have trouble telling between friend and foe. She was merely projecting onto you and Koshka.

And Jade, I find that fascinating. I would not downplay that aspect of you five if I were you.

Anton: That's a shame, Lady Sarah. I understand it, now that you have elaborated about her. Truth is that, despite the awful results, I had tried to befriend him, at some extent. Even for me, used to deal with nasty, violent people, it's a challenge to actually keep the peace with him. But he's like a turtle into his shell, "nothing can touch me" and all the shit that closed people projects around. I would really like to help him to be more, dunno, happy about being alive, by example.

*a little blond seven-years-old boy, wearing teddy bear themed pajamas, with a hole where his upper right eye and head should be, bloodied nose and mouth, appears faintly behind Anton, glaring at him serious*

Anton: Maybe you wish to take May into some sort of therapy, though I guess Arc's energetic nature makes him unsuitable for long periods with an specialist. Wonder who has the role for healing people's moods into your kingdom. In case you need it, I can lend you the address of a great therapist that I have been going to, for... ahem... you know what, forget it, he ain't done shit to help me, really...

*the little boy seems restless, and frowned a little, still glaring Anton*

Anton: You shouldn't apologize for your friends, lady Sarah. I'm sure you have done most of what you could to ease their pain. Jack also must feel really responsible about them. Maybe there's something we can figure out to improve May's mood, and help her to understand how beautiful is to be alive. If you need something of the like, just ask.

*starts to feel chilly at Anton's side of the room*

Anton: Is it me, or someone turned on the air conditioner?

Sarah: Jade, I was referring to the difference in time periods. Something like that is quite hard to outshine, I would say.

Anton, we have tried to get May to see a therapist, but it is quite hard to get her to do anything she does not want to do. We eventually gave up. However, May has yet to attack an innocent bystander in her anger so we have deemed it not necessary yet. Yes, that is not a solution, but it is the best we can do right now. We have also decided that her anger makes her unpredictable so we always make sure she is with at least one of us at any given time. This has not caused too many problems as she likes the company. Yes, I know, it is not the permanent solution she needs, but we hope that she will eventually agree to see a professional because, despite what she may claim, Jack is not qualified to help her deal with her issues.

Jade, I have been wondering, are all of you from the same story? If so, how did you meet each other if you are from different times?

Jade: No! God, no, we're not from the same story. Those of us from modern times are from one story, and the lesbians--

    Kathryn: I'm bi.

Jade: And those two are from another. It's really nothing all that special.

    Sarah: Ah, I see.

Arc: I don't get it yet.

Sarah: Why are you here? What about-

Arc: They ran off somewhere and I couldn't find them, so I came back. If they're from different stories, how are they in the same place?

Sarah: First of all, how am I meant to know that? Secondly, I suppose the rules here are quite blurry, perhaps this is acceptable?

Arc: I guess... Hey, who's the strongest out of you five?

    Sarah: Arc...

    Arc: Just curious.

Sarah: Actually, Anton, I was wondering about the child behind you. Is he alright? He looks a little pale... and he has a hole in his head.

Anton:*shivers on cold*Child? What are you talking about Sara? *looks back, and facepalms himself* OH C'MON! I thought we had our boundaries settled, Miguel!

Miguel:*continues staring with a slight frown to Anton, obviously upset*

Anton: Don't put at me that half-dead face! You know how distasteful is to do that shit in front of people! Haven't you look at yourself in the mirror? Actually, don't answer that. It's kinda obvious that you haven't!

Miguel:*slowly extends his left hand towards Anton; over his head, materializes a bed sheet, which falls slowly over the detective*

    Anton:
*sigh* I got it. You were listening everything. That's rude too. At least you should have greeted like everyone did.

    Miguel: *makes a smirk*

Anton:*takes out the bed sheet from over him, and looks to Sarah* Well, he's one of my associates. His name is Miguel, and actually lives in my office with his family. They are really lovely, except when they open the windows from sudden while I'm trying to... ahem... clean my desk. I know, I know, he has not been into his best days, specially after his daddy blasted his face...

Miguel:*puts a face of notorious wrath at Anton, and temperature lowers drastically*

Anton: Don't do that shit, Miguel, ain't funny! *again towards Sarah* He's a poltergeist, and that means he's able to manifest himself physically, at difference of other ghosts. Has quite a temper, but in most days he is a good kid. Was. You know what I mean.

Miguel: *his anger recedes a little, and now just frowns; temperature raises*

Anton: Thank you! Now, if there was a way to know what he wants, and how to help him, that would be really be nice. But he can't talk, or be too explicit. Some ghost can do it, but not Miguel, nor his family... in fact, only him haunts me personally; the others don't care, unless they, well, ahem, get "ornery". And when "ornery" I mean they unleash hell. The only time in my life I have seen a three hundred and thirty pound thug to fly towards the street from my window was because he tried to shoot at me; the family didn't like that at all. Don't worry, the guy is still alive... even after falling from a seventh floor; I don't think he will eat solid food on the near future, though.

Miguel:*drops his anger face, and now he's just sad, temperature returns to normal*

Anton: Haven't you ever had supernatural experiences of this kind on your kingdom, Lady Sarah? I'm also impressed that none of you have fled away screaming in horror at his presence. Am I the only one terrorized about him? Or maybe you are just in shock? I would really like to know. Or... maybe you have some sort of "treat" to get rid of the fear? Can I get a sample, in that case? *puts an 'expectant junkie' face*

Sarah: No, we do not have a "treat" for curbing fear, nor have I experienced the undead before. It is just, the way he looks reminds me of Harrison's clones. I suppose that sense of familiarity helped with the shock of seeing a real ghost. Perhaps the fact that he appeared to be mortally wounded should have affected me, but he was moving around okay so I assumed he was not in any immediate danger of dying.

    Arc: Same with me.

Sarah: "Has quite a temper, but most days he is a good kid", huh? *smirks* That sounds quite familiar.

    Arc: You're thinking of May.

Sarah: Yes, I am. Oh, if only the boy could talk.

    Arc: His name is Miguel.

Sarah: Then he and May could talk, and the rest of us could glean some valuable information into their problems.

Arc: Stop that. You're putting Miguel on the spot. It's not fair, Lady.

Sarah: Yes, yes, I see your point.

Arc: Hey, Anton, I want to ask you how you deal with Miguel getting angry. We just remove May from whatever upset her until she calms down, but is there a better way?

Sarah: Yes, we need a permanent solution to this problem. I would be very grateful if you could tell us what you know about this. Will you please share your knowledge with us?

    Jade: …us?

    Cara: I think so.

Kathryn: Do you mean physical strength? Because, in that case, nobody.

Sapphire: Maybe he means magically, or something like that.

Jade: Well, that’s just between you two. Now if you’ll excuse me, I need some time for my social battery to recharge.

*Cara nods in agreement, and the two walk away*

Sapphire: Okay, well, she’s definitely better trained than me.

    Kathryn: *shrugs* Not your fault.

Sapphire: Never said it was. It’s just a fact.

Kathryn: Well, they didn’t train me much in fighting. I guess they didn’t want me knowing how. Not proper for a young lady of my status.

Sapphire: True. Well, look—we don’t even know if the guy was talking to us, or what he meant by strongest. Maybe we should get some clarification first.

    Kathryn: *nods* Good idea.

    Arc: Yeah, you five.

Sarah: Apologies, it is just that we do not have a way to include all of you in one question easily. Would you prefer we say all of your names, or is there another way we can address you all easily?

Arc: You can call us "the ones who take things too seriously."

Sarah: Well, Arc, they asked you to clarify what you meant. Are you not going to answer to that.

Arc: Calm down, Lady, I was getting to that. I meant who's the best fighter?

Sarah: I swear, you have fists where your brain should be. You could ask about their interests. Actually, I shall do that. Ignore Arc's question, girls, I have a better one. What do you like to do with your free time?
