Jericho: I think everywhere has drugs. Do we have drugs? Gabriel: Nothing specific, but the author did just think of a plot line for our story. We need more of those. Jericho: Drugs? Niki: Wow, your places sound cool. Do you think I could visit sometime? Our energy doesn't really have any kind of catalysts or anything. Everything is dependent on the person who uses it. Our energy is a lot like a battery charge, to use the example you did, that we can use freely. Anyone without a Control can really only use energy to move slightly faster, make yourself a bit stronger, etc. Controls are the specialized abilities that people can use, and are always based off of controlling the Aspects of Yara. Yara is the name of our world, by the way. The Aspects of Yara are: reality; time; space; life; death; energy; light; darkness; and pretty much whatever natural element you can think of. Controls then get more specific based on you the person is. For example, I can control light and graft animal parts onto myself. *Gathers light around her hands and turns them into cat paws. Then gives herself fins on her arms and moose antlers. Not all at once, but one at a time.* I can only do one type of creature at a time, though. Enhanced Controls are kind of like the upgraded version of your Control. I can make a bunch creatures of light that listen to me; I can make multiple of those at a time. *Looks at Luna* Was that about right? Luna: Yep, that's accurate to what I taught you. Although, the death part is only a theory. I've never actually met anyone who can control death.
Zhuque: Officially we don't have drugs. However, there was this idea for crystalized magic to exist and that using it would enhance your power, but that using it to much would lead to your natural power weakening thus forcing you to keep using it. But on another note, we in Sekai are born with an affinity toward one element, most of us get either fire, water, earth or air, that we then can create and manipulate. There are those who get more unique elements too, we’ve met one whose element was shadows. Suzaku: Yeah, that one was a hard nut to crack. I do not know exactly how, but by controlling my shadow she was also able to stop me from moving. Zhuque: And due to our magic being elemental-bound it doesn’t always have much use in everyday life, and is mostly used for battle. But we all manage anyway.
Alvis: Sounds familiar. Ellen: We're from Earth too, but back then we were the same person. Anyway, apparently the reason it doesn't have magic is because it's a higher plane of existence, as in literally higher up. Since it's further away from the source, magic gets too dispersed to reach it. Alvis: Sometimes people from our world "fall down" into the magical one. They call us the Starfallen. Legend has it that's the way all of the mortal Folk came to that world, while the gods somehow "rose up" from below. Ellen: Heh. I guess that's one way to put it. Ellen: That does sound sorta like how magic works in our story, though you have Controls instead of catalyst technology. Raxa: This Control thing sounds a bit like our Divine Aspects, doesn't it? Ellen: Now that you mention it. So, how does one gain access to a Control? You said not everyone has one.
Suzaku: So, we have talked about our powers. But what about other talents? Anybody has anything they want to share? Perhaps even show us? For starters, I sadly do not have anything but my angel is a magnificent dancer, and... Zhuque *red as a tomato*: Susu!! You can’t be serious!! You really want me to…? Suzaku: Don’t be silly. Of course not. Your lovely mating dance is for my enjoyment, and mine alone. But you happen to have another talent aswell, one you should share with us. Zhuque: Susu… Suzaku: You do have an amazing singing voice, my angel. Why not let them hear some? Zhuque: But I… don’t sing like a human… Suzaku: Please? If I promise to grant you one request? *Zhuque whispers in Suzaku’s ear, Suzaku’s response is a smile.* Suzaku: Then we have a deal? Zhuque: Yeah… *Zhuque takes a deep breath and lets out a song very similar to those of nightingales. When he is finished Suzaku gives him a peck on the cheek.* Suzaku: See? Wasn’t so bad, was it? Zhuque: I’m also a decent cook. But I don’t think any of you would care to try it. My species need our food to be on the burned side for us to be able to digest it. Suzaku *chuckles*: Yeah, took my kitchen staff a while to get used to. They were not happy about having to ruin the food on purpose. Zhuque: I’d say it was the food they first tried to feed me that was ruined.
Luna: To keep it brief, you have to have a very strong connection to an Aspect of Yara; something that's very important to you. I have a very strong connection to water. Then, it takes a lot of willpower and practice. You can also get your Control in moments of high tension and need, but you won't have as much control over what kind of Control you get. A lot of people who have Controls get them from quiet meditation and time, however, those who get their Controls from moments of high tension and need, that don't have as much control over what they get, often find that theirs is stronger than others. Your Control is more personalized. Our main antagonist, Relias, can control shadows and "darken" the hearts of others, while this one hero who lived a long time ago, Matra, could control specifically the shadows of living creatures to restrain them, or create weapons from his own. I hope that answers your questions. Niki: I can dance! *Does the Macarena* Jericho: *Speaks while keeping his mouth shut. You can kind of understand him, but not too well.* I'm a pretty good boxer and football center. Gabriel: I'm trying parkour with Luna. I think I'm getting pretty good at it, too. Luna: I'm an amazing liar, have been for eleven years.
Truman: Well, after having to wear an Alpha for years, I became attuned to interfacing with it and any technology or physical process, including nanoscopic. As long as whatever I'm looking at is bigger than a nano-cam, I can see and work around it and inside it. I can also control additional Mag-moebas to do the same, or train them to do some procedure on their own. Alphas can also train me physically is dance or combat. Usually, you wear it like a suit. Watch! *points hand to Alpha-dog in a reaching gesture. Alpha liquifies and surrounds his hand, then his entire body. Truman holds his hands to his sides and spreads his fingers, then pushes two outward on each side. Tentacles sprout and he walks around like a spider, up the wall to the ceiling. He drops and his suit turns to liquid. He lands with a splatt, then rises into a translucent dragon-shaped creature that spreads its wings and bows. The wings morph into a cape and then merge into Truman* I'm also good with home and auto repair and I can make balloon animals out of myself!
Carl: Pleased to meet you. This might be a silly question. Are you related to Harry S. Truman? I met him once. There were much less Trumans back then when compared to now, so the likelihood of you descending from him could be high. I can see a slight resemblance.
Zhuque: Welcome! I am Zhuque, former Demon King of the South. And though I am a demon, I promise you I’m quite friendly. And this is my husband, Suzaku, God of the Southern Domains. He has a bad temper, but I hope you won’t think less of him for that. And he has been on his best behavior here. Mostly... Suzaku: I can speak for myself, my angel. Zhuque: Just don’t want you to scare him off, Susu. So who are you? What story are you from?
Truman: Good to meet you. My full name's Truman Jefferson Brady. I was the last president of the US, and then Administrator of the Unified State of America. Harry S was my namesake, but no relation. The author chose the names cause I did what had to be done, sponsored the New Constitution (Dignity Law), and was wounded while serving as a Cabinet Secretary. So, who are you in your story?
Zhuque: Susu, my request... I’m calling it in. Suzaku: What? Now? Zhuque: Sorry, but I can’t stand it anymore. *In a shower of sparks Zhuque’s wings unfurl, but they look very shabby. Feathers fall off as he move his wings.* Zhuque: Start plucking! *Suzaku does, and Zhuque sighs with relief.* Zhuque: Aah, so much better. Suzaku: I’m quite surprised that you wasted a request on this. You know you can make me do exactly anything with one of those. Hence why I don’t grant them lightly... Zhuque: I know... But it itches so terribly when I moult.
Carl: In my story... My full name's Carl Armstrong Lee. I'm retired. Actually, my story starts long before my retirement. It's a long story... I'm a centenarian, so I'll skip that part. After my retirement, I relocated my family to New Zealand. I already bought a farm here. I started my new way of life because I predicted a global stock market crash. We got in for a big surprise because the crash came earlier than expected due to certain circumstances. Chaotic events follow around the world. I start to find out a big sinister secret about this crash, which my writer is still thinking of what it would be.
Suzaku *letting the last feather fall*: A family man, huh? Guess that makes you the only one here besides my angel and me who is married. Well, Truman might have had a family once, but as far as I recall he hasn't mentioned one while we've been here. *Zhuque lets his wings disappear in a shower of sparks* Zhuque: So how many kids do you have? Boys or girls? Susu and I have six little ones, but only one of them was born female. And was it you or your partner that gave birth to them? Suzaku: My angel... I think his partner most likely was a woman. From the sounds of it, his world is not a magical one. Zhuque: Oh... Yes, of cource. Sorry, eh Carl, was it...? Still want to hear all about the kids, though!
Alvis: Martial arts, I guess. Ellen: Martial arts, and also magic, apparently. Sram: ...Solving problems. Valyan: Well, I've received lessons in poetry, history, music, mathematics, military strategy, philosophy and some theology. Alvis: But not economics. Ellen: *snrk!* Valyan: But I don't know if I would call those talents, it was just part of my schooling as an aristocrat. Really, the only thing I feel I've ever been good at is swordplay. My brother is better at it, though. Actually, my brother is better at everything... Raxa: Anyway, because of my Aspect I'm basically great at everything that involves fire. So, cooking, smithing, metalurgy and so on. Alvis: Hm, by the same reasoning I suppose I should be a genius electrician, though our setting doesn't really use electricity that way, it's all done with magic instead. Ellen: You'd also be good at electronic music, I guess? Alvis: Aw, man! What if I'm awesome at the electric guitar now? That'd be such a waste! Raxa: Hm. The gods of our world gain their particular abilities from things they have a strong affinity for, and then we mortal folk can inherit that through the Aspects. It sounds like you guys cut out the middle man, so to speak. Sram: There is a hypothesis that mortals will eventually evolve to use magic in way similar to the Gods, sometime in the far future. Though, we will likely always be different in the physical sense. Raxa: A president is a sort of king, right? Alvis: Well, yes but actually no.
Gabriel: Huh, that's a neat coincidence. We've got something like that, too. You see, our main antagonist was actually the first to bypass true magic and gain a Control, so he could spite the Gods and declare himself to be better than them. He also was the first to realize Ascension, which is a state where your connection to the planet actually binds you to the planet. Luna: It's almost immortality. If you're killed, you will regenerate over time, depending on how severe your death was. But, you can be damaged to the extent that your connection to Yara breaks, and you'll cease to exist. The best part? Someone who's Ascended can alter their body's physicality, allowing them to vary from a regular flesh and blood body to one completely made of energy. By my count, there's only been four Ascended in history, but two of them were destroyed pretty quickly and the other one is currently reforming. Do you guys have something like that?
Seeker: I transcended with the people I served, but straight to the timelessness of The Eternum. Eternity makes even power meaningless, even though it is infinite. I still seek a purpose for it, and have yet to express a reality for The Eternal Creator to bring to existence. I have found beautiful expressions that are not realities, such as this place. It seems to have expressed itself. Truman: A title I exhausted myself trying to avoid. I finally declared myself Tyrant to settle the issue. It reminds me that my role was not chosen by me, even though it was constitutional. The will of the people isn't always in their best interest, thus my little protest. Unheeded, of course. Glad that's all over.
Zhuque: Well, Susu and his brothers ascended to godhood, which greatly enhanced their powers. From what I’ve heard though, they were already pretty strong. Suzaku: Not pretty strong, my angel, we were damn strong. And after the ascension we too could alter our appearances. *looks at his hands* But not anymore, it seems. Zhuque: Susu? Suzaku: I have told you our writer were inconsistent with my and my brothers’ powers. Looks like that issue have been cleared up. The shapeshifting and creating or altering things out of nowhere is gone. Zhuque: What about your phoenix form? *Suzaku turn into his phoenix form a few seconds* Suzaku: That one still goes. But everything else, all gone. I can just create and manipulate fire now. Zhuque: So, no more entering our chambers looking like a total stranger yet acting as if I’m supposed to know it’s you for no reason other than you thinking it’s such a riot? Suzaku: Sadly, that is the case. Zhuque: Well... I can honestly say I for one am happy about that. You almost gave me heartattacks every damn time!
Lloid: Sorry for the late reply~ *bows* Our author has been busy with stuff. *states at author* ImpactFrames: *shrugs and wiggles* Lloid: Can't argue with that! In terms of power, I'm more of a physical guy. I've always wanted to learn magic, though I've been pretty incompatible with it. Though in our world, its rare for humans to be able to use magic, but this just seems unfair. *stares at author once more* ImpactFrames: *smiles innocently* Reis: You say that, but from what I've seen I don't think you really need magic. You're plenty skilled as is. Lloid: You really think so? Reis: Does this look like a lying face to you? Lloid: You always wear that expression though... Reis: *clears throat* I can't use magic either, though I can trigger a short power boost depending on how much I've been hit/hit others. No special abilities to mention, though I can run a mean 5k. Lloid: Oh yeah, I have that too! My Awakening just boosts my speed and evasion stats though. In terms of talent, I'm real good at making fillet~ Reis: (Just don't let him cook it.) Also, nice to meet you, Carl. Make yourself at home.
Carl: Oh! When you introduced yourself as a demon, I thought... well, I was so frightened that I didn't realize your greeting was directed towards me. Ha! Ha… *gulp* Plus, it was way past my bedtime. I was very sleepy and having a headache at the same time. I couldn't think clearly... but then the fear of you and your husband woke me up and I thought even less clearly... You know? I know a guy from another world who encountered a lot of demons like you... Maybe he'd be interested to see you. Actually, I know little of him partly because he can be very elusive and partly because the writer hasn't finished even the first chapter of his story yet. I just have his vague background story. Carl: Yes, my wife is a woman, and she's the one who gave birth to our four children. We have one son and three daughters. We also have 9 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Zhuque: Oh no, please, don’t be afraid! I promise you are perfectly safe here. And three daughters? Oh, I would have loved having more daughters, but unfortunately the nature of my species is to strong so we only got one... Suzaku: Well, considering the treatment she got from your species I think that might have been for the best... Zhuque: She did show them in the end, though. Afterall, if it is something my species respect it is power, and aside from Houou Shiratori is without a doubt the strongest of our children. Suzaku: And grandchildren... There has been mentions of them, but aside from one being a baby in his cradle none of them have appeared. I’m not even sure how many there are supposed to be. *Zhuque suddenly starts to cry and clings to Suzaku.* Zhuque: Taiyou!! Suzaku: *stroking Zhuque’s back gently*: I’m so sorry, my angel... I should have known that talking about the kids would bring those memories back... *to everyone* We lost one son in the war against the Xerillians. He was just five years old! *clenches his teeth* And those bastards killed him, drained him of every last drop of his magic!! Zhuque: My sweet little baby... Suzaku: I know, my angel... Believe me, I know... I still miss him, too... Zhuque: *drying his tears* Sorry, everyone... I didn’t mean to drag you all into that... Suzaku: Oh, I’m sure they understand. Afterall, since it was you that gave birth to them it is you that have the strongest connection to them. Zhuque: *clings to Suzaku again* Susu!! Suzaku: There, there, my angel...
Luna: Don't feel bad about that, Zhuque, it's hard to lose someone you love. Gabriel: Yeah, we're allowed to feel sad about it once in a while. If anyone has a problem with that, then they can go straight to hell! Luna: We're supposed to feel sad about it. It's a sign that we really care about them.
Zhuque: Thanks. Suzaku: Unfortunately I went and made a already horrible situation even worse. *closes his eyes* I got so comsumed by my own grief and thirst for revenge that I didn’t even see just how broken my poor angel got. Zhuque: *cups Suzaku’s face* But you did! In the end we found the way back to each other, and together we healed the best we could. Suzaku: When I think about what could have happened... Zhuque: But it didn’t. Don’t ever forget the past... Suzaku: But don’t let it rule your life. Zhuque: *smiles*
Raxa: I'm guessing your gods are still acting like they own the world, then? Ours got a lot more humble after almost breaking the place. Sram: They'd probably be the first to admit to their limitations. Raxa: Yeah, sort of. Ellen: Our gods are pretty much made out of very dense magic, rather than physical matter like the rest of us. That makes them very hard to kill, though it's still possible for them to die. It allows them to do a lot of stuff we can't do, like practically teleporting at will without using spells by turning into streams of energy, and they basically live forever. They look and behave like regular people for the most part, but honestly, I don't think they can fully relate to mortal concepts like aging or procreation. Apparently their forms shift over time to represent whatever they identify with. Alvis: They once showed me a vision of what they were like back when they were still getting to know the mortal folk, and they were all these weird alien monster things. Apparently they liked people so much they eventually started looking like us. Ellen: Don't know if it's possible for mortals to assume magical forms. Maybe through something akin to how demons assimilate the identities of their victims, or the way ghosts form, but that's kinda hypothetical at this point. Raxa: Heh. That's actually kinda funny. Alvis: Actually that's one thing we don't really need to put up with that much. Sram: There's Vipral. And the witches. Alvis: Yeah, but Vipral's clearly a special case. And witches just grow animals tails or whatever.
