Thank you very much for the questions, Agreen and Mallory. They have definately made me lock my answer tighter with my character's personality. Anyhow, since my story is written in a first-person perspective, the answer is all by my character's voice. _______________________________________________________________ 1. Why is- or more precisely, why does Saya believe that she is- an outcast? Is this only at school, or does she have a difficult time with people in general? "Being an outcast doesn't simply mean that nobody's talking to you. Heck, I have a ton of people talking to me. Well, mostly trash talking me, that is. However, nobody really likes me. You can tell the way that each and every single one of those students talk behind my back and the teachers giving me these evil looks. It's not that I did anything wrong, really. Probably because of how I seem so uptight and seem to stare into space a lot of my time. This, sadly, only happens in school as mostly people around my house that I live in don't seem to be that cruel." 2. Carrying on with my previous question, here are a few sceanrios. How does Saya deal with them? a. A new boy arrives at school. He's nice, smart, and Saya finds him attractive. He has yet to settle into a particular group of kids. Does Saya approach him? What does she do/say? What if she sees him being bullied? "I probably will approach to him directly. If it's someone I like, which is rare, then I better start knowing them. I probably might ask him his name, school grade, and all of those common questions you would ask if you meet up with someone for the first time. He'll probably ask the same thing if he answers and doesn't act like the other students. If I see him get bullied, even if I don't know him, I'll step in and protect him if I have to." b. While attending a religious ceremony appropriate for her setting (presumably dedicated to Volran?) the officiator/priest/Sunday School teacher spots her curse mark. What does she do, how does she explain it? What questions, if any, does she ask? "I would try to hide it without giving too much of a body language to them. If that doesn't work, I'll lie and tell them that there's personal reason to get the mark, even though they might get suspicious and know that it's a cursed and forbidden mark to recieve. If all the above options fail, then I'll go and ask her a question, saying why he's/she's like to barge into someone's personal information." c. She's out to dinner with her family. The waiter screws up her order, bringing something that personally disgusts/preparing the food in the wrong manner, which makes her feel ill. How does she react? "I'll go up to the waiter and demand an answer to why she prepared it wrong/made the food personally disgusting. If there's no answer, then I'll have to do like what other people would do in my situation, contact the manager and possibly stop going to this specific restuarant." d. Her parents spot the curse mark. They start asking questions. "I'll probably try to explain to them that it's a tattoo I got without their permission. I absolutely do NOT want my parents to get involved with my mess. If it's my fault, then I am responsible for what the outcome is, not others." 3. What are Saya's plans after highschool? What preparation is she undertaking to achieve this- is she looking up colleges, visiting campuses with her parents, does she have a line of work in mind? "I plan on being a technician at engineering with machines. I have been taking a bunch of difficult classes and tried to get the best possible grades I can ever achieve in order to reach this goal. There is a certain college that the school chooses for the students at my new academy, in which I find that crazy, but that saves the process of taking the college entrance exam. They haven't actually recommended me to a college yet as I am a new student in the academy, even though I'm a senior. So they'll probably let me know what school I'm going to once the first semester is completed. My parents haven't been going because of the academy's plan of colleges for students. If I have a change of heart, then I'll probably become a librarian as I love to read books peacefully." 4. Her parents hit a hard spell financially. They need Saya to take on a part time job. What type of work does she look for? How would a typical shift go? "I would work in the library and at an industry where scientist keeps on working to make and invent new machines for the future. Since they know that I keep on visiting them in my free time both at the library and industry, they'll probably be happy to hire me part-time. I'll probably work at the library during the weekdays and at the industry during the weekends. During the weekdays, I'll work a couple of hours in the library. It'll be easy to do my homework and do research work anyway without the noise. Now for the industry, I'm not sure what they want me to work as, but I'll work half the day in it and do my usual business for the rest of the day." 5. How, in her own words, would Saya describe the curse mark? Does she know anything about it or how it came about? "The curse mark is something I really don't know in dept about. It gives me a lot of pain actually at random encounters, which makes me worried about how others are going to think of me. All I remember was that the goddess of Volran gave me the mark and with the mark, I am able to summon the Twin Gunblades. Other than that, I really have no clue and don't look at the mark much. I practically ignore it." 6. It's an open weekend, the weather is nice, and Saya has some money (presumably from her part time job in 4) what does she do? What does she want to do- and if it's not the same thing as what she does, why the difference? "I'll probably just go into a bookstore and see if there are any books or graphic novels I'm going to get. If there's a new release on anything about the anime, "Last Standing," which is about a soldier at war in a fantasy universe with his friends, I am one hundred percent going to buy it without any hesitation." -- As an only child, do you feel any pressure from your parents to live out all of their dreams? Be everything they couldn't, give them lots of grandkids, etc because there are no other siblings to do it? Whether or not you feel such pressure, have your parents ever tried to place it on you? If so, how do you react? If not, how would you if they did? "I don't really have too much pressure from my parents since they support me with whatever decision I make, unless it's a bad one obviously. My parents never placed the pressure on me about having kids, etc. If they did, I would probably be in shock and be surprised on how they're so worried about the future that's going to happen in less than ten years or so in my life." -- Suddenly, the popular girls who are usually mean want you to join them in something you find extremely odd (not necessarily odd that they're doing it, but odd that they want you involved). You aren't sure if they're trying to make up amends or just trying to set you up, but you have a nagging suspicion it's the latter. What is it they want you to do, and how do you react? Do you do it, say no, or do it but with an ulterior motive or secret plan in mind? And don't just say "They want me to do their homework and I say hell no." Put more thought in. "If she's trying to get me to do some stupid errands as in doing their homeworks, throwing the trash away from them and cleaning up their mess, then I wouldn't really care and do it. Besides, there's nobody that would come and help me, even though there are only three people that understood me at least. If it goes on a little too long, then I usually have a plan or two in my head to make them pay back without noticing that it was I that did it. However! If it's something that will deal massive damage or harm anyone, then technically, I would find a way to decline their invitation without causing much trouble. If I have no choice but to resort to violence, then I will."
I have 2 characters I need to flesh out, if that's ok. One of them is my MC, and the other is a supporting character that's fast turning into a 2nd MC all on his own and I hope to write another novel on him. My MC is Josh. He's 26 and the adopted son of a cheese shop owner. He has no memories of his past life until one day he woke up in a wet cave and, thinking he'd die, managed to escape and stumbled across the town that were to become his home. He led a happy and quiet life (though he has also experienced much rejection from the villagers for being a stranger) until one day 4 people came into his shop and tried to kill him. He has no idea why. He just wants to have his normal life back. He also wants to know what happened to him in the past. My 2nd character is Thomas, 25. His father is a respected teacher of the temple, but he himself was caught red-handed stealing from the temple and became an outcast. He was sent to a small town to work as the lowest servant in the local temple, never allowed to take on a more respectable job. He steals as a hobby, but never anything important - only little trinkets that represent something personal for him. He's a very talented thief, streetwise and charming and with a love for adventure. He has no respect for authorities and does his best to live a risky life, usually to the disapproval of everyone around him. He hasn't spoken to his father in years. He has no particular goal in life, but he secretly wishes he would belong to the more respectable circles but out of proud, would never try and tries his best to act like an outcast and enjoy it too. Any questions for either one of them (or preferably both) would be fantastic.
?'s for Josh: ~How old were you when you were adopted by the cheese shop owner? ~Where you raised knowing you were adopted, or did you find out through gossip/self revelation? ~The people who attacked you, what did they look like? Did their appearances, or attack tactics strike a chord with you, or were they completely alien to you? Did you get their names? Or some other information out of them as a way to track down where they'd come from? ~After being attacked, did you stay with your parents, and attempt to regain normalcy, or were you exiled for bringing danger to the town? ~Do your parents have any clue as to where you came from and are hiding it, or do they genuinely not know? ?'s for Thomas: ~ Just to be clear... Your hobby is stealing, you work for a local temple, but not allowed to rise up in status or importance, and although you're too proud, you wish to be accepting into the higher eschelons of society? ~ If you aren't shy about stealing for fun, why are you shy about trying harder to improve your status? ~ Do you still speak with your father though it was his temple you'd stolen from? ~ What was so interesting to you in your father's temple, that made you want to steal it? ~ Where is your mother in all of this? ~ How old are you? ~ Do you know Josh, the cheese shop owner's adopted son? ~ When you aren't stealing for fun, or living on the edge, what do you do? What does your 'down time' consist of?
I have a character I need help fleshing out a bit. He's more of a background player, popping up at random times, but basically everything he does has some purpose to the main plot. I actually am not 100% it would be appropriate to ask for character developing questions on this character as he may be offensive, or considered inappropriate to others... His name is Damien "Eve" Stone, and he is a pre-op transvestite... Picture a slightly broad shouldered Anna Kornickova with the face of Tatum O'Neal and a personality like "Dr. Troy" of Nip/Tuck.... Statuesque, cold-hearted, and sexually aggressive. If this doesn't bother anyone- or no one posts a request asking me to refrain from giving his background and asking for pointers- within the next 3 days, I'll go ahead and post what I know about him so far, and what I need help developing on. Or-- anyone feel free to PM about him. I'll be glad to share
As some young adults view this site I can see where it might not be appropriate to post some of the specifics of his background and what not. I'd be happy to help either way but if you'd prefer to message me the info I can come up with his questions that way. It might help to know a little more plot as well as far as it's relevant to his development, either way none of it is offensive to me and I'll help anyway I can.
Josh I've been asked that sooo many times now. Well, to cut a long story short, I ran into Karlura - now my home village - in a confused and panicky state and embarrassed myself by asking everyone if they knew me. I didn't care, I was desperate. I couldn't have known I'd end up staying there, and there're some people who would never let you forget... sidelong stares, shifty glances, I'm tired of it all. They think I was 14 when I got there, I looked about the same age as my brother. I'm 25 now, assuming we got our estimate right. I don't really want to talk about the High Priests - and yes, of course I knew who they were when they came in to take my life. I thought they were meant to be protecting the realm, not taking civilians' lives. I don't care for their names, I just wanna know why they're after me. I met some people who can help me, but they've clearly got an agenda of their own. I'm keeping my eye on them - I mean, they seem... nice - well, I don't know, they have their own agenda. I'm just a little wary of strangers right now. But they saved my life, so... well, for the moment, it makes sense to travel together, so I guess that's it. I ran for my life when the High Priests came for me. I never even looked back, I feel like such a coward. I'd never felt so helpless, so small. Who leaves his brother behind to die? My brother Mike got caught in the attack and I just ran - I never even saw if he was alive. I have to go home. I'm too afraid that the High Priests would be there waiting for me. Right now I just need a few answers. I'd give anything to know if Mike's all right. Thomas Shy? Ha, I'm not shy - but what's the point? I'm happy the way I am and that's that. Sometimes I feel like an outcast, but I don't wanna give up my way of life. I mean, who needs status and respect? People laugh with me because I'm funny, not because I'm some big-shot whose ass they need to wipe. Those people think their name is everything, I like to think differently. Stealing is power for me, I know that, and I love the thrill. I love being able to out-wit them when they think they rule the world. They don't need to know. It's just my little secret. But I'm no fool - of course I wouldn't mind some luxury, it's easier when doors just open for you. But that's not my life. My father... we haven't been in much contact since I was cast out of Sulthraska (that's where I'm from). He's ashamed of me. He's always been ashamed of me. I've long given up trying. We still talk, but never about much. What can we talk about? We have nothing in common. He's respectable, and I get it, he wants his son to be respectable too. Which parent doesn't? I don't blame him, but I can't change who I am. He's not a bad father. He just doesn't get it... I like to watch people in my "down-time", as you call it. You see what people care about, what affects them. You see their life. You see what makes them who they are. Sometimes I wonder what made me the way I am, but there's no point dwelling too much on that. I rather prefer to see what their stories are. And sometimes I see something I'd like to steal - sometimes it's just an itch, but sometimes I see a spoiled brat and well... you gotta do something. Sometimes losing something teaches people a lesson. My mother - oh I miss her. She was the polar opposite of my father. Dad always wanted everything done properly. Mum was the one who injected life into everything. She'd make us little egg tarts that are probably less presentable than your dirty underwear, but she'd laugh and enjoy it. And they were good too! She died young though. I remember it well. Dad tried to tell me that she was just asleep - I was only 8, after all - but I knew it wasn't true. Her energy and colour had been fading by the day. I think dad knew that I knew, but he just couldn't bring himself to say it. Out loud. I went out more and more often after that. I wasn't a great son, heh... but what was I meant to do? Anyway, she taught me everything I know - she showed me what matters. And I hate it when I see people who don't know. Maybe it's not my place to teach them, but we all gotta do something and this is my way. As for Josh - nah, never heard of him til he suddenly turned up in my town with Ellie. He's a good-looking sorta lad, no idea what he's doing though. Ellie asked me for the white stone that the High Priests use. I haven't had a chance to ask her why and how she met this guy yet. He seems like an all right kinda guy. Any friend of Ellie's is good enough for me.
Joshua Finch is Angel's twin brother. He runs the psychic business with his brother and best friend. He is the opposite of his brother in personality. Angel is wild and kind of mean, Josh is calm and quiet. He is extremely loyal to his brother and would sacrifice anything for his brother. Unlike Angel, Josh remembers his parents and misses them dreadfully. Living as an orphan took a greater toll on him than it did Angel.
1. Does it put strain on their relationship that Joshua keeps missing his parents and can't quite let go and is so affected by it, while Angel seems less affected? How do they cope with each other's inability to understand this? 2. What would Joshua do if Angel betrayed him? 3. What does Joshua dislike - or even hate - about his brother? Why does he choose to overlook this flaw? 4. What would Josh do if Angel insists that Josh does something he really isn't comfortable doing? 5. Has Angel ever been mean or even cruel to Josh? Did Josh forgive him? Why and how? 6. Tell me about one incident in your life where Angel deeply hurt you. How did you cope? How did it change you? What is there that you still need to forgive? 7. What would you do if Angel died? 8. Do you ever wish that you didn't remember your parents? Who do you think got the better deal - yourself or Angel - in this situation? 9. Is the loyalty mutual? Would Angel sacrifice anything for you?
1. Angel knows how Josh feels about his parents and he is understanding of that. Josh is slightly resentful of Angel for not remembering his parents but he won't say anything to Angel about it. 2. If Angel were to betray him Josh would feel sad for whatever choices his brother made but he would forgive him. He wouldn't forget it though. 3. There are a lot of things about Angel that Josh can't stand but the one thing he hates about his brother is his careless behavior. Angel never thinks things through no matter how many times Josh warns him that it will get him in trouble some day. 4. Josh would do it. He probably wouldn't be happy with Angel but if it was something dangerous he wouldn't let Angel get himself into trouble. 5. Angel is mean to almost everyone. He belittles Josh all the time but that's just because he's his brother. He's never really been cruel to Josh because he respects his brother too much 6. It was a few years ago. We were arguing because Angel was being stupid. I was just trying to warn him about this girl he was fooling around with. He told me he hated me and that he would be happier if I wasn't his brother. He was drunk off his ass at the time so I didn't really hold it against him but it hurt anyway. 7. I can't even imagine that. I'd try and live my life like Angel would want me to but I think I'd always wonder what I could have done to keep him safe. 8. Angel definitely got the better deal. I wish with all my heart that I didn't remember the way mom used to sing all the time or how dad would tell us how proud he was of us. Everything reminds me of them and I hate it. 9. No, I don't think Angel would. It makes me sad but Angel takes advantage of the fact that I would do anything for him and he knows that I'm the only one who would do that for him.
help please? i'm new--be gentle? my MC's name is Alice; she's 14 and an only child. Her parents are devoted to her, but though her family is really strange, she doesn't realize it because it's all she knows. (Her house is more of a fortress, and her dad runs his company out of it, and many of his employes are live-in.) Things get increasingly bad for her dad (he runs an international corporation specializing in stolen gov't secrets, and illegal political "help") and at the end, Alice's illusions are shattered as she realizes the truth about her family. And then her parents are killed, her house is destroyed, and she finds herself running from her father's enemies. She is home alone a lot and no longer has a nannie. She loves to paint and read and takes business lessons from one of her dad's employes on how to run the company. No one tells her the truth about the company so she even befriends a police officer's daughter at one point. She thinks only the best of her parents and teachers and everyone. It switches perspective between the father and daughter. The daughter was supposed to be the MC but is just too flat, innocent and damsel-in-distress type which i Don't want. thanks so much
Questions for Alice. will have a * next to them. look for the *'s that is the q's I posted for you. Remember in this thread we tend to talk directly to the charater, so you should answer as the charater as well...
oops i was awfully unclear. so very sorry. storyline: Alice's dad begins new project for client (revolutionary government) of a [country] in civil war. As plot progresses, project (stealing a new biotech weapon from [another country]) proves more and more difficult and dangerous and he realizes how many deaths he's already caused and how many more will follow if he's successful. Eventually he tries to back out of the deal, but the client threatens hand him over to [international police] if he does. So he continues a little longer then decides even jail/death isn't worse than giving this weapon to the revolutionaries, so the client takes better colateral: his daughter Alice. He eventually rescues his daughter and blocks the client from getting the weapon but dies in the process. (There's a mini showdown in his fortress/house.) The end So Alice is oblivious till she is abducted. At that point, she's puts the pieces together. Before, though, the reader has a full understanding of the happenings, but she only sees pieces and is too innocent to put them together. She befriends a lot of people who tie in at the end like the policeman's daughter (the police eventually show up) and the main "bad guy" (who appears again in person in the end). How is your family strange: My parents speak many languages and entertain many foreign people. I'm never invited to meet the people though; in fact, my parents seem to pointedly keep me away from them. I have no relatives nor family history, but many of my dad's top employes live with us. My parents are very strict about who I associate with most the time, though they can't control who I happen to run into in restaurants or the mall. What kind of secrets and who is the buyer: I don't know. As far as I know Dad's a consultant on foreign politics and helps dignitaries understand touchy subjects and customs. (His buyer is the leader of a revolutionary group in [generic country i have yet to decide on]. The secrets are plans to a new bio warfare weapon. He's not really a traitor because he's not selling out his own country, but he's definitely not honorable.) You learn to run the company without understanding the nature of the company? Um... I'm taught general skills with the expectation I'll come into full knowledge in a few years when it becomes necessary. I learn about international politics, how to run large companies, bookkeeping, general diplomacy, history, and weapons. The weapons part is supposably so i'll understand the current state of technology to best understand wars between countries. Who cares for you? My parents don't die till the end. Before that I had a nanny till about age 10 and then I'm on my own. My parents work at home often and have live-in employes so I'm rarely alone. Who is this person, what role did they have in the business when your parents were around? What does he hope to gain, and who is running the show now? He will co-enherit the company with me when my parents pass away. Of course, none of us foresee their tragic death nor know the company will be destroyed with them. During the story he is a top advisor. If I am trained well, his job will be easier later because I'll be a huge help to him and we can work together. The policeman's daughter: How does this end if it does if not why? What do you have in common? Does her family know about your parents dealings? Her family doesn't know about my parents, though my dad has been under observation for a few months numerous leads from other cases seem to lead to him. Her dad is going to be the first policeman on the scene. (He recognized the address when the call came in that evidence had appeared convicting my dad and an arrest has to be made instantly because rumor had it my family was about to bolt.) We're about the same age and she also loves fantasy and drawing. She has a dog (of which I'm envious and curious) and a crazy household with four siblings. Her differences are partly what make me like her. As for the teachers, who is your fav and why? How have they helped you get through this time in your life? I love Ekaanta (Dad's top advisor who will co-run the company with me one day). He's very direct, but I appreciate his focus. He also taught me much of what I know about drawing and introduced me to chess. He's appreciates simplicity and is very unlike my elaborate father. despite my mistakes, that actually seemed to help a lot. thanks so much! :}
Any takers? I'm in a question-generating mood right now from playing a similar activity on my other forum. So keep it coming!
I'd love questions for my dad character if you have time. (Alice's dad from above) He attended an ivy league college. He's been married for about 12 years. He met his wife when she was in the FBI but corrupted her and she quit to help him with his company. I'm not sure if he loves her or just loves her connections and finds her dedication helpful. He seems flawless, charming and perfect, but he puts his company above all else, regardless of the cost. He's responsible for numerous deaths (intentional or non). He rarely sees his daughter because when he's not traveling, he's hiding in his home office working. His work consumes him and he becomes more and more stressed as the story continues, his polish wearing thin. thanks for any help
Sure. Questions for Alice's dad: - When you were dating your wife, before you got married, what made you trust her enough to tell her all about your illegal business even though she's in the FBI? Why didn't you think she'd arrest you or at least rat on you? - What if Alice wants to join in on the business? Would you let her? - What if Alice was in a position where she was an obstacle to the business? - What if the business organization kicked you out? - What are your favorite trivial things - do you have a favorite animal, type of music, etc? I'm not going to be nitpicky and give you an info sheet to fill out, but just list some of your preferences, quirks etc. - What is your biggest weakness, and/or something you would NOT want the bad guys to know about? - Do you have any concerns about your wife or Alice? Either business-related involving them, or just worries for them in general.
- When you were dating your wife, before you got married, what made you trust her enough to tell her all about your illegal business even though she's in the FBI? Why didn't you think she'd arrest you or at least rat on you? I didn't. I blackmailed her. She had some skeletons and major guilt issues. But after working so closely for three years lines got blurred, and I'm really good at charming and confusing people if I may say so myself. - What if Alice wants to join in on the business? Would you let her? Alice is going to co-inherit the business eventually with my advisor, Ekaanta. I'm not completely happy with this decision, but I'm afraid to question why I'm unsatisfied. I love my life right? - What if Alice was in a position where she was an obstacle to the business? Logic demands she be removed. I've done similar before. But she's my daughter and ultimately I don't think I could hurt her. Discredit her perhaps or even possibly force her to do what I say till she capitulates willingly and agrees with me. - What if the business organization kicked you out? Hopefully that wouldn't happen because it's my business. However my advisors sometimes dislike my extravagant tastes and have become more and more outspoken recently. In the back of my mind is the fear they'll force me into an early retirement, but i'd fight that with everything i had. - What are your favorite trivial things - do you have a favorite animal, type of music, etc? I'm not going to be nitpicky and give you an info sheet to fill out, but just list some of your preferences, quirks etc. I enjoy playing violin and like elegant meals. I love driving fast. When traveling, I try to visit a classical art museum in the country I'm staying in to "culture" my modern, science-math type advisors. I tease relentlessly. - What is your biggest weakness, and/or something you would NOT want the bad guys to know about? My daughter, but i don't even realize that myself for the longest time. At first I thought the thing i feared most was news being leaked about my financial instability. Times just haven't been good lately.... I try to conceal my disgust/dislike of the "bad guys" who i'm working for right now. They're tacky and just don't understand class. - Do you have any concerns about your wife or Alice? Either business-related involving them, or just worries for them in general. I fear Alice's reaction when I tell her the truth about my company. And though I insist I love my life and job, I'm afraid to let my thoughts wander much in case i might realize how much i hate it. I'm not sure I want to trap my daughter into this. thanks so much Mallory I'm happy to try to ask questions too anyone...
My MC, Dan, is a relatively shy guy in his early 30's. He works as an accountant for a shipping company, well before falling for Neil and being pursued by Damien, now he's on the run from that psycho and his friends. He loves Neil but doesn't know how he'd react to the knowledge Dan feels that way about him, he's notoriously unpredictable with his actions. Currently his greatest ear is that he might have to try to fight Damien himself, he doesn't know how to fight and is terrified of the thought of going to-to-toe with him. Basically I need help fleshing him out, I don't know any specific areas I can think of, he just feels... flat to me and I'd like help fleshing him out please.
Questions for Flashfire's Dan ~What do you see in Neil that you find attractive? ~How do you provide for yourself when on the run. ~What do you miss most about being home? ~Did you enjoy your time as an accountant? Are you bitter over losing that position? Or will your company let you return after the chaos with Damien calms down? ~What family do you have, and how would they react to Neil? ~How much to you tell your family/friends about Damien? ~If Neil turned you down, how would you react? ~Is Damien really strong? Why is he so terrifying? Is he clinically insane? ~Do you normally handle situations through fighting? Why don't you think you can talk this one out? hope this actually helps. good luck
1. Do you have any family support? 2. What are your dreams/goals? 3. If it was a matter of life or death would you be able to protect yourself? 4. What's your favorite type of music? 5. Favorite food?
Ok, I've answered these questions in the character's voice,it's helped but I"m entirely sure if he's fully fleshed out yet. Ah... I guess his sheer unpredictable nature, he's very spontaneous and self reliant. His worldview is so different, it's fun to unravel his thoguhts and see alternative ways of viewing things. SO, his personality would be the man drawcard, although his height and physical power certainly help. THere is nothing more attractive than an interesting man who can punt you through a wall... Mostly I just do whatever work I can find that doesn't need a resume or a lot of waiting around, things I can just pick up quickly and drop in a hurry when Damien inevitably tracks us down again... Honestly? Not a lot besides not looking over my shoulder every three minutes, not having to take long complicated routes to get places, not having to use fake names, not having to be terrified that today I'll get back to wherever I'm hiding and find Neil dead or worse. THe safety is what I miss the most really. I think I enjoyed being an accountant, it was relatively relaxing, I'm a bit bitter about having to leave because some psycho has decided to make me and Neil a target... but yes, once it's resolved I can go back to my job, or reapply somewhere else if that job has been taken. Well, I do have family members around the country, we're a bit spread out and not that close, I only really see them around on important events, like Christmas or mum's birthday. I don't really know how they'd react to Neil, they'd be worried probably. Nothing at all, the less they know the less likely they are to get in trouble or get hurt. It has crossed my mind that he might try to hurt them to draw me out, but I think the hunt is part of the fun so far. I'd be a bit of a mess, but there are always other men out there, I don't wanna jepordise our safety by adding another layer of complexity... hiding my feelings is beginning to become almost as much of a distraction as telling him would be... I've seen Damien throw Neil through a wall before, but I don't know if that's cause the wall was weak or he's just that strong. He's ruthless and last time he and Neil tangled he was using a meat hook, he's ruthless, sadistic and doesn't seem to really feel pain. I don't know if he's clinically insane, I'd say so yeah, he;s stalking us across the country and so far he's killed a few people who got in his way, and a few that didn't just to show us that he's not playing around anymore. I never resolve a situation through violence, I try to talk my way our or run, I can't fight very well, I'm pretty sure I dislocated my wrist last time I got into a fist fight. Damien is a lot stronger, faster and significantly higher skilled than I am. I do if I really need it, but it's mostly just monetary help and that, we're not a close family really. If you;d asked me that a couple months ago I'd have told you that I just wanted to be successful, have a stable job and happy family, maybe some kids one day if I could find a good wife... but now... now it's just to survive day by day, maybe get back to my old job once things settle down. See how tings go with Neil, if he isn't asexual that is. I'd try but not be able to really well, I can't throw a punch or fire in a straight line, the best I can do is grapple and nut shot someone. So yeah, I'd be capable of protecting myself maybe. Ah that's a tricky one, I'd say a decent slow rock song would be my kinda thing. Easy. Steak! A nice well cooked steak, with veggies and potatoes maybe... damn I'm hungry now...
It looks like you meant to type you're not entirely sure? Want to explain the areas of his character that you think might be flat or underdeveloped?
Ah right, sorry for my dodgy typing. Ah, honestly I don't know, I don't seem to have much of him really, a lot of epople have told me my characters are flat and lack depth, so I'm trying to add some depth to this character but don't fully know where to begin on it all.
Give the character another problem (if they're the MC) or a problem of their own (if a supporting character whose only purpose was some role affecting the MC). How they choose to solve that problem will flesh them out a lot. But don't make it pointless - make sure the extra problem ties into the overall story somehow (Subplot!)
