Yes I was provided with the best possible characteristics to appeal to whom i serve. Is this because of some kind of caste based designation directly connected to her upbringing? Is it all she can do, or that anyone thinks she is capable of? Does she have debts and this is the only way she can work them off? She does this because she must and because it's how she was brought up. Since we haven't had an apocalypse yet there's not going to be much empirical evidence on one. So go wild. It could be an ecological disaster. It could be a breakdown of basic infrastructure. Maybe an ICBM strike or an electromagnetic pulse. Could be a mass disease that only a select group of the population had the immunity for or could be innoculated against. And if you're struggling for inspiration, just blame it on zombies cause they're the new vampire. I've been thinking about this one really hard and I want to do something different. Research wise I wanted to get an idea of what possible apocalyptic scenarios there are including beliefs about 2012 being one....etc etc. I'm thinking of somehow adding the 2012 doomsday events but changing the date....or possibly make the technological singularity play some role in the apocalypse. I'm just abit worried about whether these have been used alot so i'll keep thinking ^^ Everyone has a past. But this is the kind of thing that can make it very tempting to do a flat out info dump. Avoid bringing up her past for as long as possible. A story like this needs to open on action. Have her kicking the crap out of zombies, or shooting thugs, or doing something that shows us her proficiency as a bodyguard. Show us what she isn't afraid of before you get into what she is afraid of as that will make the reader even more interested. It's like, "Okay, I saw you take down a guy twice your size, walk barefoot through a minefield to save an old man with alzheimers and I watched you fight off a group of thugs just so you could save a little girl's doll. Why is this causing you to pause?" That's an extreme example, but you get the idea.[/QUOTE] Yeh I know what your getting at here and I'm trying to avoid it to but to me a persons past is very important since it molds into our current self. It will definitely start with action! I do like the idea that she will be alot stronger than she looks. It makes sense...since she serves as a both a companion and a bodyguard. Both of which she has been brought up to perform perfectly. Anyway thats alot of writing and im sorry to add more but just wanted to say thanks for the help! It's made me think about this character alot more and I can see I still have alot to work on. This is the first proper novel I plan on writing so i wanna get it spot on but at the same time have alot more to learn Daydream
How she was a brought up is a reason. That she must isn't. Unless she has no mind of her own, there's no reason why she doesn't have a reason. Again, is it the only thing she can do? Is she like 47, where he was essentially cloned and bred for one purpose and had it beaten into her from day one? Is it like The League from Sherrilyn Kenyon, where her only way out is suicide? See, those are compelling reasons to stay with the same job for a while. If it's a job they must do then there needs to be a good reason for that. If she's strong enough to do her job, she's probably strong enough to tell her employers where to go stick it. So if she's still doing this job even though she wants out, then it has to be a compelling reason. Otherwise your readers are going to be stuck going, "Wait, why'd she do that? There was no reason for it." To quote Cogito: Everything has been done. Like I told someone in another post, don't worry if it sounds like something else or if someone else has all ready done it because of course it's been done. Stories in post apocalyptic worlds have been flooding the theaters the last two years. So there's nothing much that you can do to avoid making your plot sound like at least one of those. Write the story well and I won't even care. Of course it is. Everyone needs motivation. I'm just suggesting that you wait to drop it all on us. Look at stories like Highlander and watch how they slowly bring us up to speed about why Connor is so bent on taking the Kurgan's head off. That's a really good example of a way to bring someone's past into the story without dumping it all in chapter one.
I could do something along the lines of this...basically have her reflecting on her past as the story goes on?
Im sorry...i kinda didn't tell the whole truth when i answered that question.... Something happened when i was younger that people blamed me for and started spreading rumors...Somehow it came around to the fact that i'd never be able to take care of myself. I was too young to understand then, and nobody ever really explained it to me. So i kind of just like to leave the past in the past. It's too stressful for me... Again, sorry! I really want to see every sight across every world before i die!! I know it's not possible, but i don't want to spend another year sitting around in a little village doing the same routine everyday. Then again, if i keep up and moving, i'll be able to keep the same group of friends...well, unless they come along with me..but they'll probably have lives of their own and i don't want to take that away from them. I guess when it comes down to it, i need to work on my goal in life, huh..?
I think its still character development, just not traditional Q&A. I think if you write her write her right, she will get the sympathy of the reader.
I would be ; I love dystopic and post-apocolyptic fiction so I'd definitely read your story. Any more characters?
I'm right there with you! I LOVVVVE apocalyptic stories/movies. Am currently watching The Road! So far it's amazing!! Glad to hear you like my character! I'm currently working on a few more, one of which being the person she protects whom she hates yet loves/worships at the same time. I've done this through him having a kind of mental hold on her (since eugenics can be used to enhance traits I've also chosen to have it enhance psychic traits) once he dies that control over her is lost and she has her freedom Still working on it of course but think it could work!
Name: Jeremiah Jericho Age: 16 Occupation: None... He has one brother named Jack. He has a mother. His father died. He inherited a chip from his dad. A chip that is located in his head. The chip gives him the ability to see what makes people them. He can read their minds, manipulate their emotions, see their very soul and whether or not they are made of sugar and spice and everything nice or dirty and gross and everything loathsome. Terrible to have a teen under control of people to such a degree. The problem for Jeremiah is that the chip didn't come alone. Christopher is a part of the chip. He's the paperclip helper so to speak. He is helpdesk with an attitude. Jeremiah is a very good looking guy. In the story his good looks is the separation in school. Instead of ugly being the ostracized thing, it's his good looks. It's not a major thing, but it's a reoccurring theme of his good looks making him not liked. Jeremiah dislikes bullies. He is sarcastic, but sometimes a tad slow on the uptake when it comes to sexual advances by two gay guys at school. He has his own issues he doesn't get at the moment. It's a mental problem that's subtle. In the school he goes to it helps prepare them for a life outside of school. He wants to be someone that helps abused persons. So in part of the book he interns at Phoenix Ashes a charity that helps abused women, children and men. Family is very important to him and doing right is important, but he's very headstrong and stubborn and can do things on the cuff without thinking. Which is why Christopher gets on his nerves with telling him to think about it. He's 16. He's a man. He knows what he wants to do. He doesn't want to disappoint his father no matter if his father is dead. Well...sort of dead. To a point. And he is all over the place. Just like my telling about him.
Is Jericho really your last name, or did you choose it for symbolic value? Because otherwise I'm seeing two brothers with the exact same initials. Granted, that would be the case no matter what your lastname was, but it would be adding insult to injury to have two brothers being referred to as J J. Love the metaphor here. But if the chip is in his head, was Dad the scientist/brain surgeon that placed it there? Did Dad die while you were a baby and after a very thorough scrubbing and desanitization, was it then inserted into your brain? Why does he have a problem with it? As a teenager I would have jumped at the chance to control others with my mind. Does he have a strong moral compass? Was he raised with values that tell him this is wrong, but he didn't get a choice in the matter of the chip? Good looking by who's standards? Janet was turned off by Rocky's muscles, but Frankie didn't make him for her. Some women like their guys overweight and others like them stick thin. So what are the standards for being "good looking" in this universe? Does it equate with sexual attraction, or is there some arcane system of rules in place for what is acceptable in public? So he has a chip that lets him see into people's emotions, but he doesn't understand those emotions? I'm confused there. Maybe rather than being "slow on the uptake", you could follow up the fact that he dislikes bullies by saying, "He recognizes their advances, but because he doesn't want to be a jerk he tries to play dumb." Most schools are for the purpose of helping prepare for life outside of them. That's the general purpose of school, apart from indoctrination and making us read Oedipus. Does his volunteer work at this charity play into the plot device of the chip? Is the chip relevant at that point in the story? Foreshadowing aside, how much influence did his father have over his career choice? How about his mother? Compassion is certainly one thing. But I've met very few abuse counselors who haven't been through, or witnessed some kind of abuse themselves. It gives them a better angle for helping other people to cope with it. So did Jeremiah deal with abusive situations in his life? Did his mother? Was he like the kid in Concrete Angel, seeing abuse happen to a neighbor or a close friend? Most kids are. Even the mostly grounded ones.
It's like a pestering 7 year old with constant barrage of questions...love it. All questions got verbal answers. I can touch on a few right now. I want to answer all, and will, but I can't right now. The JJ thing is non existent. My brothers and I have the exact same 3 initials, we were never called JJ. I use it online, though. Never saw it as an issue here. Jericho has meaning that is revealed toward the end. He witnessed his mother's rape which is how his brother Jack was conceived. Jeremiah saw the rape. He was forced to. He is all over the place more so than normal for anyone his age. Purpose in that as well. Thank you. You got my mind working. I'll get to the rest later.
Hi, J_Jammer! Thanks for joining the thread! Your MC thread is fun, and is part of what motivated this thread. Here are some questions... 1. Let's say that there is a way to get rid of Christopher. Not kill him or anything, just make him go away and work for someone else in someone else's chip (if this isn't possible, pretend it is: this is hypothetical). Does he do it, or does he realize he likes having Christopher around in the long run? If he did choose to get rid of Christopher and be independent, what methods would he be willing to use to get rid of him, and where would he draw the line? 2. Let's say there's someone in Christopher's life who he grows to regard as a dear father figure. Perhaps an uncle, or a very trusted friend, or someone who works at the abuse survivors' shelter. And then Christopher discovers that this person raped somebody several years ago, but the truth was never leaked until now. How does J. react? 3. Would he ever consider letting himself go appearance-wise in order to be more popular at school? 4. What types of things trigger his mother's rape, and what types of day-to-day experiences upset him (i.e. things that seem normal to most people but would upset someone who's had that experience), if any?
That's revealed later. But what is known before later is that Dad did not do it. The Scientist that did is not the father. It's far more tangled than that. His Dad died when he was five on 9/11 from a heart attack first and then upon autopsy that David's (the dad) sister attended. Important note. It was discussed prior to his death what he wanted to happen. Jeremiah's mother knew about it. He doesn't like bullies, one and two it's a control issue. Controlling others isn't exactly something he wants to do because his mother was controlled. Against one's will isn't something he finds appealing. There's the flirt rape he doesn't enjoy. Being flirted with by people he's not attracted to at all... ...however, he does mention that he'd like to make people be more empathetic. There's a hint of wanting to force people, but not as strong as one would expect from a teenager. As for being raised....his dad did teach him to see past just a bum sleeping on the sidewalk. See more than that. He was five. He's sixteen, so it might or might not stick. The chip was placed in his head without consent. He didn't know about it until the very first page of the book where he finds out it's going to activate in less than a minute. He was none-too-happy about that. I almost want to say he's appealing to everyone in a metamorphic sense. Something about him makes anyone like him no matter their taste. Something he is not aware of on the OH I can do that way. Storywise so far only those that he is not attracted to are attracted to him in a sexual manner. It's not a huge part of the story, so there's not a lot of time devoted to his looks, but it is important that he be too hot for his own good. He can see people's emotions if he wants to. Understanding what they go through is a choice one makes even if they can't see emotions people are experiencing. It is no different when you see them. Same with evidence. Either you choose to believe that the evidence is strong or you choose not to. It's hardly ever a matter of logic. I mean slow as in he doesn't catch on to sexual comments. It's not that he's not sexual in thinking (because he is way more than most...another key point) it's just he doesn't have too many friends to bounce off little jokes or watches shows that has them or reads about stuff like that....so he doesn't catch on. Like when using a cucumber reference. Nah, it's more of the school as a built in restaurant. Students run it for lunch every day as well as dinner at night. They are allowed to work any hours they want and get paid as well as learn about the business. Everyone is required to participate in a service job so they can have empathy for such positions and not think themselves better than those that choose or have to do them. There is a working garage. Same thing. Each student picks what it is they wish to be. At the moment it's only for High School students, but eventually the program (aptly titled Moirae after the High School itself -- from Greek Mythology--fates) would expand to prek. Meaning if a Prek child wanted to be a superhero then the program would accommodate. Math would deal with superheroes. English with superheroes. Everything down to their dress would accommodate. Each quarter or even earlier a question would be asked of the students, "What do you want to be when you grow up" and they could either shift to something else or they stick with what they've picked. By the time the students graduate they wouldn't need University for much if at all. Most will have picked what they wanted to be before High School and stick with it all the way until the last day opening up doors for them to do more after they graduate without a degree in the sense of a degree. If they need to take a test to prove they know...they'll take it and prove they know. It is to encourage learning, not force it. You can't expect students to do what they are told with boring subject matter. They won't. It won't stick in their brains. This way they care to learn. It is nothing like high school now. Not even close. It does. He meets someone through the program. The chip is necessary in all aspects of the story. It never shuts up or down. Mainly his mother, but partially his father. His father was heroic in his job. The rape of his mother as mentioned before. It is mentioned because it's more than normal. Past the extreme. Christopher does a lot more than one thinks.
I read the first post in the thread. It is a neat idea. Initially, yes he'd do it if it were possible and since it's hypothetical he'd reach into his mind and remove it with his own fingers through his nose. But he has not picked his nose enough for that to be a viable entrance way and eventually (pretty quickly in the book) he accepts Christopher because there's a scene that forces that to happen in a very Christopher manner. Funny you should say that...that sort of touches on something that happens. Christopher is just a voice of the chip, nothing more than that. The only other friend he'd have aside from Jeremiah would be David (Jeremiah's father). If you read it, you'll see how interesting your question is. I just can't fully answer it without saying far too much. He is popular, just not via friends. It's like having a god walk among the humans or a celebrity walk into a room where everyone knows they're famous and do not want to bother them. They perceive him as something he's not. It's true he doesn't want to be bothered, but like everyone else he wants friends. The school aspect of the story isn't important-important because the school isn't in the story for very long. It sets a tone of how he's more than a loner. He chooses to do it as well as dreads that it is happening. A conflicting feeling that is also something he does often and on an annoying level with Christopher the oh so perfect voice. Think of it as having a Dr. house in your head. Still a good question. Would he? He doesn't like bullies and he doesn't fell the need for anyone to change to be something they're not. Hence why he doesn't bother with the two gay guys that find him adorable. Technically if he really wanted to...he could rewrite anyone however he wanted. Human mechanic isn't used lightly. Family is important to him. Altering himself to fit in isn't as appealing as it is to be left alone should people start to find him likeable. He doesn't like to be touched...the hugging not something he really wants no matter if they're a friend or not. That is something that's missing or I could do more of that. I'm going to go with smell. The smell of sweet. Not just his sweet or his mother's or anyone in gym class. More like Gym Teacher because he's older. Old man sweat. Women talking about their missed periods. Old men with women. I like this one. Thanks.
You know, usually I don't do this sort of thing, but I do need the help and my friends have all disappeared for a while. So, yeah. Secondary MC/Companion to MC: Name: Thessa Age: 20ish. Hard to tell with her kind. Thessa is a half-Greeve born on the edges of the Tainted Lands. She is an archer and a bit of a loner, though she does help others and is loyal to her people. Thessa is wandering the Great Forest at some point and comes across a fallen woman, whom she later ends up travelling with. She finds herself falling for this woman, this Lucillia, as she is pulled deeper and deeper into her friend's quest, which she has no idea what it is apart from going West. She loves to party, isn't afraid to get drunk and have fun, and enjoys dancing to drum beats. She mainly relies on her arrows for battle, but is versed in some close combat, though not as much as Lucillia, and uses some Spirit Gifts. Meaning she can manipulate the world around to some degree, mostly involving the change of wind and a fantastic sense of direction and time. And that's... all I have for her. Literally. *shrugs* I haven't thought much about her, I have entire back stories for every other character but no info on her. Not much I need to know, though I am struggling with back story and well... everything else. This is a fantasy story, if that helps at all. But I'm not sure what I need or should ask for help with. I suppose anything and everything you throw at me would be helpful. Thanks! EDIT: Is posting how she looks relevant?
Thessa, 1. Is your dual heritage something that helps in your life or hinders your ability to cope in some situations? 2. Why did you become an archer? 3. If your (clan?/kingdom) required you to kill your new found companion could you do it?
Well, it definitely doesn't help me. I mean, first off, I'm part Greeve, having any affiliation with Greeves is bad, we're considered evil or something. I can never keep the stories between us, the carnivorous plants and the Nytes straight. Secondly, I'm part human as well, yes this helps me blend in a lot easier around the humans then say if I were part Nottac or Voll, but it means I stand out like a sore thumb around anyone but Greeves. My... outward appearance doesn't help that. At all. So it hinders me, but it gives me wicked amounts of stamina and a great connection to the land, so hey, win some and lose some, you know? Where I come from, the Tainted Lands as others like to call it, you either hunt or are hunted. With all the strange creatures I needed a way to fight without getting close to the ones too strong for me to fight, so I took up archery, seemed easier than spears and lot easier to carry too. It helps outside the Lands too, great for killing food and shooting suspicious looking guys between the eyes. My record is nine in a row! Race, actually. The Kingdom is a human thing, and only natural races, like the Volls have clans, actually, they're the only ones who have a clan... I doubt I'd be ordered to, but if I got the message from our leader in the Lands to kill her, I couldn't do it. At all. I'll take my changes with death and torture and all that fun stuff. I....I may not have known Lucillia for long, but I feel a connection with her unlike anything I've felt before. Almost like the Spirits are telling me to stay with her. I, well I think I'm falling in love with her. And it would kill me to hurt her. Thanks Corbyn! This is great for insight! Woo, on to the next ones!
Some questions for Thessa: 1. You're a loner, but you like partying? 2. Are your feelings for Lucillia romantic or more admiration and need to protect? Or other? 3. Do you try discovering more about this quest, or are you happy just staying by your friend? 4. What was your family life like? 5. What do you hope to get out of this quest? What about life altogether?
Yes. A bit of a paradox isn't it? I like to be alone, but I also like to party. I'm... well I feel the world better by myself than with others, but indoors I like to be with people. Inside everything feels hollow and empty, a few people some drinks and a good drum beat always fills that gap left my stepping off the natural ground. All three I suppose. I want to protect her from whatever hellish nightmares we come across, because at times she seems so fragile. Humans, they have thin skin you know? Too easy to puncture, too easy to hurt. I admire her as well, she has held fast in her resolve after Michael and Helena were found dead, she never seems to lose control of her emotions. It's... worrisome how much I feel she pushes down, but at the same time I'm awed by her ability to shove them aside and do what she has to do. And I do love her in the romantic sense. She's a wonderful woman, she's absolutely gorgeous, and there's some sort of power around her that makes me wonder.... But I suppose it's part of love right? I just... I can't explain it. I...I want to ask her, but at the same time I wonder if she'll know how to answer me. Will she tell me truth? Will she lie? What? And if she tells me the truth, will I like what I hear? I want to, but at the same time I'm happy I'm just here to protect her from whatever she hits. And those nightmares.... she wakes up crying out most nights and I feel like that may be the source of our quest. And if it is, then it's really none of my business to ask, is it? Like any other in my culture. I didn't have any one family, my race was my family. We Greeves don't discriminate amongst pure-breeds and half-breeds, and we don't hate people just because they don't look like us. If you respect us, we'll respect you. My mom was in a village in the Tainted Lands, that's where I learned archery, but when I was old enough, I took off to see the outside world. I think Mom battles those snake-like people now. I dunno, I haven't seen her in a long time. So I guess it was okay? I mean, I'm not complaining, just never really thought about it. Out of this quest? I kinda just want to know what it is and why it's so important to Lucy. And, if I can, I'd like to get to know her better, maybe take her out for a drink. Courting, I think the humans call it. Out of life? I'm not sure, I'd like to just survive to see the end of the war, though I doubt that will happen. Other than that, maybe help my people in some battles and figure out that new bow trick. I never really thought about it, I live day to day. Always have, probably always will.
Teressa: How common is a human-Greeve relationship? How does society accept same sex relationships? (don't care, taboo, accepted) Society being either human/greeve or both. Does Lucilla know of your attraction and is it mutual? Does she have an attraction to other women? (Basically is she homosexual/bisexual/heterosexual or Asexual?) Loaners like to party, being with others without commitment to friends. Do you have trust issues, commitment issues? Or is it more of the mix breed not feeling like you fit in anywhere?
It's Thessa, but I've been called worse. Human-Greeve? Not very, but it's not too bad a thing, I mean, my father is apparently human, though I never knew who he was. But other than that, I've never heard of it, but I think that's probably because Greeves, well we don't leave our villages much. Um... It's alright I think. According to Lucillia that's how the royal family died out, Queen Margaret the Second had a female lover and never had children. My people don't care, you love who you love. In fact, considering everything I've seen, no one cares, I think in war love is so rare that it's seen as good no matter what. No, Lucillia doesn't know of my feelings, and I doubt it's mutual. In fact, I don't think she knows who she likes. According to her she grew up with just Helena and Michael, so she probably hasn't been exposed to that kind of thing. Trust issues? I suppose a little bit, I was really surprised how quickly Lucillia trusted me, usually humans hate anyone who isn't them. So it was an interesting change, but it's nice. I don't have to worry about watching my back for when she stabs me. So yeah, I guess I do, and I know that most people hate me. Which doesn't help. Commitment issues? Hmm. Not at all I think. I'm not going to run off on Lucy, but I don't usually make friends, so it's hard to tell. I'll have to think about that one... And yeah, it is hard to fit in when I look the way I do, Greeves accept me, but no one else does. Half-Breeds aren't very common, and Greeves breeding outside themselves is even rarer. I've never fit in, I've always hid, but it's not so bad, means I have an excuse to avoid those hellholes called human cities. Yuck!
1. Since Marril discovered that she had telepathic powers, do you think she would really have a main reason to fight off vampires to save lives? If one of the vampires turned out to be her mother, how would she react? Woud you just kill her? She can't stand the "rules" anyway, so what would she do? 2. One of the Guardians turned out to be God, and that Guardian is trying to tell her something. WHen she finally discovers that God is one of the Guardians, would she surrender and listen to the God or would she continue to be mean to the Gurdians? 3. Since Marril's father left to fight off the vampires, and Belial has an opportunity to defeat her, it turns out that Belial is doing this because he doesn't want to see her with her with powers. What would she do? Woudl she continue to use them to fight him and try to keep her powers, or would she surrender the power so she could save her own life? 4. If Steve finds out that he can still block powers, and since Marril feels that Steve is the enemy, she can't stand her mother, and she wants to live life on her own, and she hurts other people's feelings, Steve would show her tough love and let her fight off other people with powers. In additon, since Steve wanted to kill his daughter when she was a baby, he would just allow her enemies to kill him. This would be Steve's revenge for Maril's hateful ways. What kind of choices would she make now? Would she ignore the situation and continue to use her powers for her own good or would she find a way to show love to the family? That's all the questions I have so far. I enjoy reading the character development though.
I hope This clearify what my main character is like. I am looking for a few questions about this before I finsish writing the movie script about it. Name: Jason Age: 17 Sex: Male Occupation: Crew Member who solves customers’ conflicts when needed (He works in a bar called The Friends' Club) Jason looks forward in seeking respect from people around him because the people in California rob him for money and make fun of him since they know that he is timid. Jason and his father Tom lived together in California but Jason can’t stand him. Jason gets fed up with his father’s selfishness, cheapness, and the painful society in California, so he decides to move to Kentucky where his mother Kelly lives. They have not seen each other in 10 years. Jason also has a brother name Richard. Richard has been living with Mom and Jason has been living with Tom. Richard dies in a car accident a few weeks before Jason’s arrival to Kentucky, but Kelly does not want to reveal it to him because it is too soon or to “protect” him. When he moves to Kentucky and goes for a walk in the “new” neighborhood, he sees Richard walking down the street. God has reincarnated Richard so he can see Jason. Unfortunately, Richard fails interact with him because he has no time to stay on Earth and he needs to return to Heaven. When Jason goes to bed and wake up, Jason tries to tell Kelly his problems with the people around him. She fails to listen to Jason’s problem, and she advises him to go to college, start a new life, talk to new people etc, so that people will be impressed and not bother him anymore. Jason fears that people is going to make fun of him like they did in California. Therefore, Kelly and Jason has a fight when she kept telling him to do this and do that, like Tom did to Jason when he was living with him. The other characters, as well as Richard and Kelly, cannot support Jason because they do not know his situation well (except his selfish father). Then when Jason goes outside to see a group of people, he sees Wayne the antagonist and Maria the tritagonist (I’m not going to get into details on them two). Maria is Wayne's girlfriend by the way. They coincidentally moved to Kentucky too. The group looks at him and start picking on him, including Wayne, like the people did in California. As a result, Jason decides to jump the bridge until the resurrected Richard sees him at the end of the street and stops him from jumping the bridge. If you are asking me about the Friends Club job, Jason met Christina in California when he saw her standing at the Friends Club’s door. She asks him to work for her. His job is important as the story progresses. The story is going to be a movie and not a novel. I am not sure how bad Jason’s relationship is with his father. That and the people picking on him in California are the main motives behind Jason wanting to get help from Kelly. By the way, Kelly and Tom is no longer together, so Kelly decides to keep Richard, and Tom decides to keep Jason. I have more information about the 7 characters that I don't want to describe them too much in this thread.
