Is it weird that another of my "favorite" characters is a deranged bad guy who is also one of my least favorite characters? I despise this guy but in terms of being a villain, I am proud of how he turned out. He may have no redeeming qualities and he may kill primarily because he enjoys it, making him sound very simple on the surface. But to me, it just seemed like he was so self-aware of how evil he was and he relished in it. I think he made for quite an interesting BAD guy. I was really kind of proud of how he turned out, and even considered reviving him in another story for a time.

^^^^Well, he was fun to write for a time but I actually was pretty disgusted with him. It's not like he was one of those fun bad guys. lol I guess it was just that he really had no limits as to how bad he'd go and he was totally aware of that. I guess I am just impressed that I got a character to sink so low.

Whew! What a great wealth of fantastic characters there are around here. It's exciting to imagine that perhaps we'll be seeing some of these characters published one day. ;)

I'm about to expand on my eldest character, Sylvia Arrowsmith, who campaigned for the zombies in the 60's, and sadly failed to get them equal rights. She's been quite friendly and comical so far, but I think now it's time to open her up. I'm excited about it :D

In terms of protagonists and antagonists, I am proud of my characters and of myself when what makes them so is blurred. I like imperfect heroes and villains with whom I can sympathise.

Helps when they grow minds of their own & I'm struggling to keep it!

    Maybe somebody else's. lol ;)

Looking back, I am kind of proud of most of my main characters. It's hard to pick favorites because all came alive to me at least as I wrote them.

Awww thanks! :) They're the closest thing I'll probably ever have to children since I can't have any.. why has that been on my mind so much lately??? Nevermind getting off topic.

She sounds interesting. Oh but isn't it such fun to expand characters? :) I'm looking forward to expanding the other three MCs in my book more. It will be interesting to be sure. Victor can get into peoples' heads and make them do, think, or forget things. Tristan is telekinetic. Lily is an empath. It will be very interesting indeed... :-D

Your characters sound very interesting indeed, Terra! Expressing telekinetic powers must be quite a challenge?

Sadly I'm just at the part where he is beginning to heal and he's not quite there yet. Getting closer though. It will be interesting and pretty funny when he first learns he can do it. ;)

The abnormal amount of empathy Lily experiences has been really interesting to write. I try to give the emotions a sort of movement like water. I'm not sure why. Possibly because I have strong emotions and I've always imagined them to have a sort of movement to them.

Rachel's pyrokinesis has always been very interesting to write. She has a lot of mixed emotions about everything in her life. Especially this. She's a little volatile sometimes which is why I though pyrokinesis suited her.

I've not written a lot of Victor yet either. He is definitely going to be interesting. He abused his ability in the past and carries a lot of guilt from that.

In my mind, my best character is from my screenplay “Friends of my Enemies”. Once I had the premise Omar just took over and grew with each page of the script.

OMAR BIN AL-RASHEED (AKA) ABDUL WAHID KHARID, 38.

Omar is a devout Muslim who believes he can balance the scales of justice by serving the US government.

The son of wealthy parents, Jawa and Omar Al-Rasheed, he was born in New York and educated at Harvard.

His father was an investment broker for the Faisals and was killed in the 9/11 tragedy.

Omar joined the Marines after university and served in Mogadishu where the CIA recruited him for his first deep cover mission, at the age of 24.

Where he spent four years under cover and earned the trust and respect of his CIA masters. They later sent him to infiltrate Hezbollah in Palestine where he was shot and wounded by an Israeli solider.

Later he volunteered to penetrate the Muslim extremists in London after his father’s death and that led him to training camps in Pakistan and eventually Afghanistan, as a member of the Taliban.

His years in deep cover have not affected his humour or beliefs, nor his passionate dedication to the US. But he has become a solitary man dealing with situations in his own way.

His incredible inner strength and stamina, coupled with his debonair good looks, perfect physique and command of languages provide him with all the tools necessary for his clandestine role.

His immediate CIA boss, Jack Ziegler, is proud of his protégé and has helped create the perfect cover for Omar in London. It worked so well that Omar is completely trusted by the organisations he has penetrated and no one suspects he is an undercover agent.

When Omar is captured by Marines in Afghanistan as a Taliban fighter, he keeps his secret to himself. He doesn’t trust anybody. Even when he is imprisoned in Guantanamo, he maintains his cover and his faith, to the point it could cost him his life.

Meanwhile Jack discovers Omar is trapped inside Guantanamo and works feverishly to find a way to get him out, without blowing his cover.

When he succeeds, the real Omar is revealed: suave, sophisticated and very intelligent, with a ruthless streak, that he manages to conceal from those that do get close to him.

The character I'm most proud of...well, I have a few
The first one was Lord Contemno :] my paedophilic, murdering mechanical genius. I've never created a character who is as psychotic and evil as him and I love it.

The others are the five mains from my other story.
Kevin Bell - my pyrokinetic, Australian angry one with the troubled past.
Damien Engel - my German mysterious character who has invisibilty and can create force fields.
Edward Green - adorable, shy shapeshifter.
Charlie Walker - Edward's partner. He can create illusions which he can use for good or to mentally torture people.
    James Falkin - electricity-powered, hyper babe-magnet.

I rather like the fellow in my avatar.

His name is Seth Morrigan. He kills people. Prepare to die. ;)

But yeah - I am really proud of him. And the reactions - oh, they are so sweet.

Before I revealed him in Valley, people didn't like him very much and they thought I was crazy when I would talk about how awesome he was in replies to comments. All they knew of him at that point was that he'd killed characters they liked. And his own wife and, as far as they knew, his daughter. So there was all sorts of "I hate Seth" and "I want to see Seth get his comeuppance".

Ah, but then. Then he came onstage.

Then it changed to "I'm thinking of Seth less as a character in your story and more as a person you know." And "Dude, Seth, you're messed up but it's not your fault." And then, instead of anger and hate, he got sympathy. He got fangirls. People said "Oh, you were right, he is pretty freaking awesome."

    :)

I am currently writing his coming of age story. It's full text, not a Sims story. And I love the reactions to it, how people feel for him but are a little uncomfortable with that since he does grow up to be a killer.

He's sensitive and a bit emo and something of a romantic. And people around him tend to die.

    *huggles Seth*

Blake Horowitz, a dastardly fellow that believes if he betrays mankind to an alien civilization they will grant him immortality.

I like this character because he's the first three-dimensional character I've written, and the dialog I write for him seems to be taking on a mind of its own.

The original story he was in, Valley, was illustrated with pics from the Sims 3 game. So you can get Sims 3 and play around with creating sims that look like your characters. :)
