    Chatbox II: The Rebirth

Discussion in 'The Lounge' started by Cogito, May 3, 2009.

    Welcome to

    Chatbox II: The Rebirth

First there was the Chatbox, and it was good...
Then there was Raven's Tavern, and that too was great...

From time to time, our open chat thread becomes unmanageably large. You may have noticed that Raven's Tavern pages load more slowly than other threads, so the time has clearly come to start over. So this is the latest incarnation of the fan favorite.

This is the thread to make small talk, i.e subjects which do not merit a new thread.

Please do not post about matters which are not suitable for this thread; use your own good judgment. For example, posts complaining about how the forum is run or griping about other members are not permitted. If you have a problem, please use the report post icon [IMG] (preferred). or contact one of our moderators or the site administrator (to find out who are your moderators please go to the forum leaders link at the bottom of the forums). Daniel is the site owner and sole administrator,

Please do not use net-speak in a full post as way of conversation in this thread, Moderate use of emoticons and common terms such as lol and lmao is allowed, but pages upon pages of posts containing nothing but that is extrelely annoying, and will be deleted.

Also, this is a group conversation, so don't dominate it with one-on-one chats. That's what private messages and visitor messages are for. This thread is for group interaction, and conversations that exclude other members due to their personal nature are rude.

The idea is to keep this a fun, lighthearted thread that everyone can participate in and enjoy.

So do we get drinks here? *looks around*

Edit-God the thing in Pakistan is getting real bad. A singer was murdered by her own brothers because she was "behaving in an un-Islamic way). What is the world coming to?

    No. :(
Which is why I made my debut on page two.

    Edit:
I dont know, but it seems to me the more religious you are, the more acceptable murder is.

Exactly. Taliban objects even to women not wearing burkhas, and prohibits women to step of the house for entertaining others....I guess it's because they entertain themselves with guns and bombs, killing and murder...watching people die and depriving small children of their fathers. Makes me sick.

The disgusting treatment of women makes me so, so sick. I hear these stories of women being forced into something, usually prostitution, to support their husbands destructive habits like gambling or drugs, and to say no to a man is unheard of.
I wont claim to know much (or really, anythign) about the religion of Islam, but I do know about two other Abrahamic religions (Christianity and Judaism), and I cant imagine that the two vary so dramatically in the treatment of a human being.
I can only hope that these are the radicals and disturbed who engage in this type of murderous and disgusting behavior, but I dont know enough about Islam and Islamic countries to say anything else.

If you ask me, we should do away with men once and for all. We dont need you! A few scientific studies have proven that we can now fertilize eggs without sperm. >=D

    lol Mercurial..

But yup the drudgery of women saddens me. Marital rape in many thirld world countries is acceptable. That though we can't blame on religion. The countries should have laws for that, it gives the women courage that justice will be served. The cases of women getting burnt by their in-laws because of dowery and cases inveolving casualties because of marital rape have reduced to a great extent in India ever since laws came out against them. Same goes for child-trafficking and child labor.

(And for a note, if a man is being abused(physically or emoionally) by a woman(his wife or someone), he can issue a complaint too)

Edit--I just remembered, we can begin the washing out of male species process, by selective fertilisation. lol j/k
I don't thnk women can survive without men, just as men can't survive without women. We need emotional attachment to give us reason for living, or just plain enable us to live.

And good news, the guy who was being tested for Swine Flu came clean, so no case yet...yay!
