    nutra grain bars are yummy, but severely unfilling.... (coming from the girl who eats three bowls of cheerios in the morning...)

    Speaking of yummy things and kosher, my supervisor could not have picked a worse day for me not to be in the candy shop. I am working at a small amusement park for the summer. Yesterday, there was an Orthodox Jewish school group. None of the other retail people had any idea what those kids could and could not eat.

    How do the kosher rules apply to candy? Only kosher gelatin in the gummies and things like that?

    Saying kosher gelatin is like saying kosher bacon. It's made from pigs. And who knows what some of those "artificial flavours" are made from. The main thing is that it's labeled as kosher. That way, they know a rabbi has checked the place out and can guarantee that no treyfe animal products are being used, or if dairy is being used, it's from cows milk and they use no meat.

    you can make gelatin out of pectin...plants...I have seen kosher gelatin on products and was told that meant it was plant gelatin
