I just got off the phone with an of course I never paid! I never got a bill, I figured I didn't have to pay person. Humans.
Actually, yes! Lastnight I slept for hours!! I passed out on the lounge at 7:30pm for an hour, then went to bed and slept till 5 am. I only woke twice through the night and not for very long. I feel great this morning.
Yes, especially when you know you are going to have a full on day with a sick child. I hate doctors who have no brains...
Evening all~ I just made Chicken Marsala with pasta, and it was edible! I might even be so bold as to say it was good! (if anyone know how bad I was at cooking, this would be an incredible statement indeed) Next time, I'll have to simmer the Marsala more, but hey, no one's complaining that the alcohol wasn't cooked out completely hehe
Yeah, but then the ones who have brains put trainees on in their place and the trainee relays back to the specialist and they then say you are fine and only a month or so later, you are not fine and have just as many problems as you previously did and they firmly believe you are fine... >< Doctors are morons!!!!!!!! ANyways, I had better run, Dan needs the laptop.
Okie Cogito. But I would like a doctor like the fictional doctor House. I don't care if he would insult me. He's awesome.
I've had terrible luck with doctors as well. At one point, I was having severe pains in my wrists, I was originally told I had tendonitis, then it became CTS, and then it became cysts. The cysts were disproven and then it was nothing. Every now and then I have pretty substantial wrist pain, and I've self-diagnosed CTS. I also had a similiar situation with my knee, which was very obviously injured (as it twisted & swelled badly). I ended up getting an MRI which came back negative and basically sent on my merry way. But I still spent 5 weeks on crutches and hasn't really been the same since. A few years later I figured out from a friend's advice that I wasn't walking properly anymore which was causing problems. Once I started wearing orthodics, the problem was solved almost completely. It won't ever be the same as it was though. Doctors suck. I'm sure there are some great ones out there; I just gave up on finding them. =\
When (if) I grow up, I'll be that person. I just... forget things to easily. Sorry in advance, Wrey. I've seen a lot of doctors in my (short) lifetime --three general practitioners, two ENTs (ear, nose & throat), two dermatologists, one gastrologist, one ob/gyn, and one endocrinologist... All were fairly capable, but out of the 10 I've seen, only two have ever been close to being on time, and only one of them was nice. I My Endo.
My only bad experience with a doctor happened when I broke my left arm. She was convinced I was just make things up... turns out one of the bones was fractured at the elbow. My first clue something was wrong came when pain shot down my arm every time I picked up my pen in class. However, when I broke my right arm they did a quite fine job.
I think I have one of three: Seborheic Dermatitis Psoriasis or Eczema The doctors don't know and they won't let me see a dermatoligist. They think they can just give me ointment and it will be all fine. But it hasn't been. It's grr
Leaka, I dont know where you live, but here in America, no one can stop you from seeing a doctor. And Agreen, I had somewhat of a similar experience. I run into... things... a lot. I'm just not all there, you know? I walk into walls and stub my toes a lot --anyways, once I stubbed my pinky toe as I walked into a wall and it broke! I went to the doctor, because it was sticking out at a really strange ankle. Whaddya know; it cant be fixed! The bones are too small to repair. So, now it sticks out at an awkward angle all the time and I just rebreak it over... and over... and over again.
My insurance company that provides my health care says I don't need to see a dermatoligist. And the hospitals say it as well. My insurance won't even cover it if I did go over and see a dermatoligist. America needs free health care in the worse way.
Ah, That makes more sense. It's not that anyone is technically stopping you. You just aren't able to see one and have insurance cover it?
Haha that's what I say every time I get sick. "I wish I could go see Dr. House..." My sister is in the same boat. It's on her legs, and the doctors she goes to just keep insisting that it's razor burn. And a lot of the time, your insurance company will only pay for a dermatologist if your doctor refers you, so no dermatologist for her. I've had fun with doctors putting real effort into trying to figure out what's wrong with me, too. I have acid reflux, but I've spent the last seven or eight years trying to figure out what it was because my doctors just kept insisting I was pregnant and ordering ultrasounds. Fun...
It's real grr...when your eye itches and you have redness around it. And you don't even know what it is.
True. My sister has scars all over her legs because they itch so bad, it's like having mosquito bites all over your legs.
My father has Psoriasis and he just watches what he puts on his skin. He uses coal tar soap and shampoo as it causes less irritation. The best thing I can suggest, if you can't get to see a dermatologist on your insurance, is to check online about what is and isn't good for such problems. I was told that citrus isn't the best for people with skin irritations and neither is normal soaps and wash powders/liquids or shampos. If it is dermatitis, there are things you can bug in the chemist/pharmacy, that aide in helping when you have out breaks. Maybe you could go to your local pharmacy/chemist and speak with someone about what may help you with your skin irritation. A young girl I know, has a 2 year old boy who has some kind of serious skin irritation thing... his skin is cracked, it bleeds, it scabs, he looks horrid! Like something you'd see in a horror movie... it makes me cringe and feel like vomitting! I spent a bit of money on different things she could use in the bath tub for him, soaps, bath washes, and the like, and it cleared his skin up (until she ran out and decided NOT to buy if for him herself because it is too expensive... what? $50 too much to spend on a toddler to make his life more comfortable??? GRRRRRRR! ) But like I said, there are things out there that help, like creams, specific soaps, shampoos and specific laundry powders. Do a google search and I am sure you will find many helpful links to give you an idea on what you can try if you can't get the doctors to listen and help. Good luck!
I believe it to be seborrheic dermatitis, just because I have dealt with not only psoriasis of the nail, but eczema as well. Right now, my daddy gave me some cream. And it appears the active ingredient in it is used to manage the condition of seborrheic dermatitis. It stops the itching and redness. But seborrheic dermatitis is a chronic thing, so it's only for managing.
