It's not too bad. I can't hear much of anything from here except on the days when we're hosting a bunch of college students on one of their events. Freaking hate those nights. College students (of which I am one so don't take this as a blanket statement) ask me for the stupidest things. Playing cards, headphones, ketchup... pretty much all I have are disposable combs and toothpaste.

See, I agree with you. And I'm a Christian. I hear that all the time. A lot lately. I really try to avoid that, though.

Oh, don't get me wrong, I totally agree. I'm just trying to look at it from their point of view.

Just get a tattoo of the copyright symbol in the middle of your chest and walk around naked. It'll work, trust me.

I know I'm getting into this way late and probably saying what has been said before, but you can't make assumptions about a religion based on its most overzealous and judgmental followers. Most religions have something positive to offer. It's just a few irresponsible people who turn a good idea into something profoundly oppressive and negative. Like anything else, use responsibly.

Let me sell it to you this way:

Why should I become a Villian? I love Humanity and want to see good triumph!
Excellent! You sound like the type of person the RLS (Real Life Super) movement is aimed at. But why Villian? Because nothing is more powerful than its opposite. We cannot know love beyond the hate we have felt. We cannot know Hot until we have known cold.

While RLSHs have plenty of heart and desire to better humanity, they will never be great unless something FORCES them to rise above the point of simple people in costumes.

RLSVs are that force. In combating our work, they will become great. In their darkest hour, people will turn to the heros for saving. We will give them the capacity to change the world.

I read an article in Rolling Stone and saw some youtube clips. Interesting sub-culture the RLS's have...

... and yet there are no villians. There are those among them who claim such a person cannot exist....

... I will disproove them all!

The bad requests come from a drunken coworker who tends to call me at 3:00am every morning. :(

    Oh I know their point.
I've studied religion cause I think it's fascinating.
I don't agree with the treatment of animals in slaughterhouses[doesn't sound like any of the topic] and how they torture the animal.
But in their beliefs they were give dominion over animals. And to them that is just what they, they are the lowest classification and description of animal. They are just an animal.

Just like the way they believe all people should have faith in what they believe in and don't seem to respect the way others feel.
Won't even allow them spiritual enlightenment in different ways for the same religion.

I feel religion is a cult that brainwashes people and assimilates them.

No offense to anyone that is just my belief.

@Unsavory: College parties. College people. Yeah I could see the annoyance.

Glad you like it. I think it would be amazing.

I've studied religion a lot, too. But I don't think there's any way to really understand a person's point of view unless you share it.

Unsavory made a good point about not being able to judge an entire religion based on a select group of followers. In my opinion, there are some people who need the guidance, security, and peace that religion offers, and there are others who don't. Those who need it will never truly understand those who don't, and vice versa.

I don't think you can blanketly call all religion brainwashing. People willfully renounce their faith all the time. I've done it myself. At some point, one must make a conscious decision about their faith and what they would like to pursue. Religion is a great source of comfort and guidance for a lot of people and since I don't know any better I don't feel like I can tell someone they're wrong.

...Unless they're condemning me for my beliefs. That's a whole other debate there.

It's no more brainwashing than nationlism or being raised within the fanship of a local sports team.

I agree. I try very hard to be respectful of other people's beliefs because my looking down on them or judging what they believe is no different than someone doing it to me for my lack of belief.

I agree with that, too. Most of the time when religious topics come up, I just keep my mouth shut because it's none of my business what other people believe, and I don't want to get pulled into a religious discussion that will inevitable end up with me saying something stupid that I shouldn't. However, if someone starts giving me a hard time about what I believe, the gloves are off.

So. My kitten just came into the room, yawns, and looks at me like "good morning emily." She jumps into my recliner, rubs up against me, then proceeds to eat my taco. Like it was hers to begin with.

Agreed completely. Though sometimes I wonder if my loyalty to the 49ers isn't a bit extreme. :p

She thinks she owns everything. This was the day when she took the bologna out of my sandwich while I was in the bathroom.
