Yo? Tomando cafe y viendo los ultimos minutos de la pelicula Hancock. Tenemos un nuevo miembro qien tomo el nombre Taino!

    Boricuas = 3 ! :D

P.S. I also don't like unions. We have them here in P.R. and they are one of the main causes of broken infrastructure.

Boricua (occasionally written as Boriqua) is a Taino word to refer to the people of Puerto Rico. The Taino people were the original inhabitants of the island prior to the coming of Cristobal Colon, salvery, and Old World STD's.

The Taino name for the island of Puerto Rico was Borinquen (boh-ring-KENG).

    People from Borinquen = Boricua.

Yeah. When they are fighting for fair pay (which they always have now) and safe working conditions, or in the case of my college professors who went on strike a few years ago, trying to get a reasonable workload, which my prof said had been getting bigger for many years, that was fine. But the two biggest factors right now are paid sick days that they get to keep and cash in, and a three-percent pay raise.

My job right now is on the Toronto Island, and this strike includes the people who run the ferries, the only way most people can get to the island. There is an amusement park that employs a few hundred students there. Those city employees are essentially saying that their paid sick days matter more than the university students being able to pay tuition without dependency on loans.

We like to play with the word here as well. There is a fellah who wrote a book of interesting facts about Puerto Rico and Puerto Ricans.
The book is titled Boricuazo, and subsequently, as Rican's are wont to do, the fellah himself became known as El Boricuazo.

A boricuada is anything against the rules, but not quite against the law, that Puerto Ricans do on a regular basis. Most nonstandard local driving maneuvers are referred to as boricuadas.

    Examples:

Left hand turn from the right hand lane = boricuada

Missed your exit on the highway so you move to the shoulder, put it in reverse and make your way backwards toward the exit = boricuada

Strange you should mention it. My cousin Richie lives in South B and dates a very pretty Jamaican girl named Ebony. They came for a visit and she was asking me abut my transition to life here. When I mentioned the driving here to her, she was completely unfazed.

Afternoon, all. I applied to UCAS today (Our University Thingy for applying to Universities) And used the automated website.

For my Title, I was given the usual Mr. Miss. Mrs. titles, but also every possible title to be held, including (but not limited to)

    Captain,
    Lord,
    Sir,

And my personal favourite: HRH (His/Her Royal Highness)

I am not making this up, I was given the choice to proclaim myself as royalty. :D

    Ooh, how tempted I was...

Thanks... Strangely, I think I owe my bad belly to some herbal sups that the b/f bought the other day. He's all about the herbal sups. We have a whole cabinet dedicated to little bottles filled with brown capsules that always smell faintly of grass and poop.
