That is true. I love having fun, I just don't know how to be a goof. My husband can really make you laugh. He has the best personality. I am more of the serious one. He said to me that every now and again I make a good joke. Problem is I never remember them.

Agreed. Such a silly wast of time to attempt to pigeon hole someone into another person's idea of this personality or that personality.

I am an infinitely faceted individual who answers to no other person's definition.

The same is true for each of you.

I wonder what archeologists would make of popcicle stick art if they don't decay. I can just imagine them being put into museums in the art history section. I'm sure acient cultures would be amazed by the stuff displayed in museums that they thought of as just practical tools.

It has to survive a 3 week run not to mention a week of dress rehearsals. I made a very basic mask out of popsicle sticks...painted it. I need to attach a mane somehow...I am just not satisfied...

Paper mache? Unless I'm picturing something totally different from what you actually want...

Does anyone here go to a gym regularly? Because I'm wondering if there are any unwritten gym etiquette rules. I used to think there were-rules like "if you're not using a machine, don't sit at it just to talk with your friends" or "if someone is still on a machine, don't start adjusting the weight so you can use it" but after today I'm not sure...

Edit: Carmina, you could use yarn for the mane. Or...uh...construction paper...?

Been there...done that. The last time I made props for Midsummer Night's Dream, I made the lion's head out of papier mache. I could do it again. This time though...I want to tie in the occupation of the character using the prop. Snug is a joiner (cabinet maker), so it made sense that he would choose wood to make his costume. Maybe I am over-thinking.... I am just having a hard time taking something flat and making something three-dimentional while maintaining structural integrity. Joints at angles are not as strong at flat joints...I am over-thinking it...

I don't think you're overthinking anything. I think it's cool that you're trying to connect the character and the props together like that. :) and I hope you find a way to get it to work to your liking!

I visit the gym now and then... And if somebody sits there just to talk with her/his friends, I'd simply say, "Err," points to the machine discretely (almost), "I need that." Then I'd expect them to get up. "Err" replaces the part where I should say, "No, I'm not sorry for asking you this and I don't plan on being hypocritical about it."

Yes, I know some time my attitude will get me in trouble, but ah well.

Carmina, you're not overthinking. Sounds nice to me.

LOL if that's your attitude getting you into trouble, then I'm worried. Because my sister's fiance and I just came up with a whole plot to follow the woman who was messing with my machine while I was still on it home...so...uhh...

The gym I used to go to actually had posted rules about all that. Don't be a machine hog, don't harass people on machines, wipe down the machine when you are done etc. That doesn't mean people followed those rules.

I think my gym might have the little wipe down machines sign up by the drinking fountains, but that's it. There shouldn't need to be signs though, it's just courteous. If you come to the gym to socialize, cool. That's your thing. But go socialize away from the machines so you don't get in the way of people who are here to work out. And as for adjusting the weights while someone else is still on the machine...who does that?

I find it very hard to believe that you are either huge or flabby...but I know what you mean. Before I started the job I had now, I would get to the gym maybe once or twice a month, and all I did was sit in a chair in my cubicle all day, so I got no exercise and I hated it. I'm glad I have a job now where I can go to the gym regularly. Working out is fun. :)

I thought the same thing of myself today. :( The pooch is back; thanks comfort food.
Carmina, you are the last person who needs to worry about her appearance. That said, I suppose we're all our own worst critics.
