No, I have no idea who Brucio is. And I'm leaving for two reasons. I'm sick of this city, and there is a really good college a few hours outside this city that accepted me.
"If I were a Richman, Ya ha deedle deedle, bubba bubba deedle deedle dum ..." I don't generally watch SNL, I find most of the "homor" forced and pointless. And beaten to death.
Ok. Brucio is one of the characters created by one your kinsmen, Bruce McCulloch from Kids In The Hall.
Never watched Kids in the Hall, either. Close, but not quite what Tevye sings. Edit~ I know written lyrics do say that, but it's not what Topol sings.
Actually, "yubba dibba digga digga dum" sounds very different And Topol is awesome! I heard that Frank Sinatra wanted that part. Bah!
Not really when you hear it in the film. The quality of the sound kind of blends the sounds together.
I hear it. Guess it comes from being used to prayers in Hebrew and Yiddish. Yes, Sinatra wanted it. If they'd hired any other directer, they probably would have cast him. But what a stroke of genius. Casting an Israeli jew to play a Russian Jew. Which is close enough, really.
I just kept thinking about how SInatra never bothered with little things like remembering the lyrics.
