Pan's Labyrinth was too depressing for me. I feel bad for asking my dad to get it for me as part of my graduation gift a few years ago. I can't stand to watch it a second time. I am uber excited about Star Trek. The Canadian Sci-fi/fantasy channel has been playing all ten movies leading up to the release date. Four more movies to go!
If I told you, it would spoil it for others who haven't but want to see it. There were also parts that were too violent, and not in the fun way that you get in comic book movies and stuff like that.
I can't watch violence..I have never even watched a horror film, and I delayed watching this one for a couple of weeks aha my friend will want it back by now. Pan was just about OK violence-wise for me, but covered my eyes in a couple of parts. The actors, plot and effects are brilliant so I didn't mind the scary bits
I found Pan's Labyrinth depressing too. Also I was disappointed because the historical context of the film overpowered its themes of fantasy and imagination. Then again, how you react to the film does rely alot on your initial expectations. EDIT: With that said, after being familiarised with del toro’s work, I found the Orphanage to be fantastic.
*pops over to the loungue and starts beating on the drums, people run out thinking along the lines of aliesn invasion*
-wanders in- Hey guys. Long time no speak. Just a quick question, though. Anyone think it a little too harsh if I'd like to murder my ex right now in cold blood?
If you do, it's a bad idea to mention it = either beforehand or later. The life of crime is a lonely one.
The life of crime is an adventure.... Opps! Did I say that out loud? *looks around whistling and twiddling her thumbs*
I just saw your post in the not happy thread...how's he doing now? Staying away from sunflower seeds, I hope! I wish my mother-in-law would go to bed so I could go get some breakfast...
My internet is back! I thought I was going to die again without it. Of course, now I'm tied down to the desk because the router isn't reaching my laptop How's everyone else doing?
Ouch, tied to your desk? That stinks...but at least you've got your internet back! I'd lose it without mine. I'm friggin hungry. But I'm scared to go upstairs. Fail.
I am trying to think of answers to my French oral and failing miserably...it's tomorrow morning..the questions are so STUPID 'le soir, il faut que je fasse mes devoirs....' - I have to fit that in somewhere if I want to get an A *thinks*
I've lost my internet enough to not freak out when it happens anymore. The only two things I use on the net lately are msn and the writing forums. I have msn on my cell phone. Losing the writing forums really sucks. I had to do it for a month and a half back in jan/feb. It sucked sooo bad. I did get a lot of reading done though....
This is true... Ah well, I'm not going to let it get to me. It bothered me for a bit, and now I've let it go.
You know, that would be a perk of not having internet. I can't imagine how much more I would get done if I didn't have my internet connection.
Oh man, if I didn't have internet, the things I would get done would stretch for miles. Heck, I could have had my novel much further along if that were the case.
Yeah, same here. I always wake up and tell myself I'm going to get so much done, but then I end up just being online doing nothing productive for most of the day. Man, I'm lazy...
