To all the others who don't watch Dr. Who, I don't watch it either. I just enjoy making jokes about it at Xeno's expense. Though finding jokes for a doctor who fights vacuum cleaners (err excuse me "Daleks) using a magic phone booth can be quite difficult.
I live in South-Eastern PA and we got a bit of a storm. Some crazy loud thunder....and rain. Bye Lydia
And some wild lightning in our area. Even the air port had elecritcity problems, and they have generators.
The power in Cobourg (the next town over) was out for two hours. I'm happy all I got was a little bit of flickering. I'm okay during the day, but at night when no one is around is the worst. -shudders- I would have cried. haha
Morning everyone. Haha, everyone's talking about storms. Well, I wasn't spared either. I ripped all of my carpet out and replaced it with hardwood over my vacation and I still had the carpet all rolled up and crammed in the storage room. Yesterday, I drove down and borrowed my dad's truck so I could move it out of here. Probably not the best day to do so. It was all sunny when I loaded the stuff and strapped it down. On the way to my parent's place (about 30 miles to the west) I saw a dark, dark wall cloud coming. (I was driving into it) It was so dark, I had to turn my lights on at 5:30 pm. Anyway, instead of turning around and waiting till it passed, I decided to soldier on through it. Out of nowhere I was nailed by heavy, heavy rain. Lightning was everywhere as well. A tree in the field to my left was annihilated by a particularly nasty bolt and it seemed to shake the whole truck with its impact. I did manage to make it, of course, but I didn't unload the stuff at my parent's house. No way, not in that. On the way home, the rain was gone, but the lightning continued all around. Was a bit unnerving but undeniably cool to behold!
Yikes. I feel sorry for my co-workers who weren't told their shift was cancelled. Must have been crazy for them.
Personally, I prefer the safety of being able to walk around for a few minutes in the rain, then being able to dry off and watch it from my window.
I can get behind that. I'm a little nervous. I've decided to attempt some Ayn Rand. I hear it's intimidating.
Oxygen is ok, of course. I sometimes have to remind myself that humans require it - they become suspicious if they don't see signs of respiration.
