Yeah. Unfortunately I didn't really see much, due to the street light that is firmly encamped outside my window, but I still saw some.
Yeah, city lights have a habbit of getting in the way of stuff like that. I remember how I reacted to the night sky a few days after going to Cornwall. There were so many stars, I couldn't believe it.
I own a gun, but it's at my parent's house. Don't have a safe large enough to keep it in here, so I'll settle with the machete next to my bed to ward off any invaders.
I'm told one of my friends own a G36C assualt rifle that has been modified to fire BB pellets, but if he removes the clip that lets it fire BB pellets it can take live armour-piercing bullets. He's not a great friend, I'll admit.
Someone that I have never met but know through mutual acquaintances had a semi-automatic AK-47. A man on the run from the law tried to break into his car one day. His car alarm went off, so he grabbed his rifle and ran to his apartment balcony. He saw the guy trying to break into his car so, he opened fire. He shot around 40 rounds and managed to only hit the guy 3 or 4 times. The guy survived as he wasn't hit in any vital place. (I believe the shoulder once and the lower leg two more times.) Still...imagine a scary dude with an AK-47 opening fire on a parking lot from a balcony. Hey Palmer, what's shakin'?
^Bad aim, recoil, and a convenient hiding spot. The man with the AK-47 was probably afraid of destroying his own car. Poor guy needs to call an insurance company. :/
I read a story once about three armed robbers who were caught with two shotguns, four pistols and two semi-automatic Uzis. They'd robbed a newstand.
Mastering a martial art (most preferably krav-maga) would be come out handy under such circumstances. Even better if you have your own guns and grenades.
