Hi, I am writing a research book on sport and I would like to use little segments of 3 or 4 lines from a number of online sources. Some of these are studies, some are segments from books, interviews, etc. Does anyone know if I can cite these snippets if I am using proper attribution. I have searched a number of sources on line, but they are vague. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Mikey53
It sounds like you should be covered under Fair Use with proper attribution, but if you really want to be sure, consult a literary attorney.
ditto that advice... it's better to spend an up-front couple of hundred on a consultation than to find yourself in hock up to your ears over a lawsuit later...
