When I was about 10 years old I got access to a slug gun. (BB gun) I spent half the day stalking a poor little sparrow. I suffered no remorse over ending its life. It's only in my adult life that I see what a shameful act that was. I was a predator, a murderer and got away with no punishment. Then it makes me think how many other acts in life I am not aware of, that need to be addressed. Hey little sparrow. Words cant express my sadness at your death. Hope your end was quick. I think it was. If there is any way I can make it up to you, let me know. Please forgive me.

I know the feeling my father passed away in 2000, and despite him being a total son of a bitch, I miss him at times. After all he did do the important things a father does: provide a home, food, clothes. Threaten people who mess with his children. You are young Moon, just need to throw away that garbage they taught you in school and find your path in life and work towards it, there's no more participation trophies anymore. Just a swift kick in the ass known as Adulthood.
I confess I have loved running around nekked since basically birth, clothes literally freak me out, like clothes-strophobia. I would be fall-down-drop-dead mortified if anyone saw but me saintly wife - even then...

Don’t feel too judged. I did something similar, and more recently than what you did too. After a hen’s eggs hatched, she left with a few chick but left a whole bunch of eggs that didn’t pip soon enough in the hay barn at the place I worked. Some of them were starting to smell, even though she had only left them for a day, so I collected them and took them over to a dumpster and just dumped them all in. Soon as I did that, I heard the most horrible cry. One of the eggs had a chick that was still alive, so I immediately jumped in and got it out from the bottom. But... since the shell broke and there were still blood vessels attached to it, the chick started bleeding out... I had to put it down myself. That was a little more than a year ago. Still feel awful about it.
some things are meant to stay secret I suppose. But thanks for sharing. No wonder we're all screwed up in adult life,haunted by our childhood experiences.
After three sleepless nights, I set out to drive a mockingbird away for good. I took my CO2 pisticle out and literally stalked the neighborhood, shooting into any tree he landed. The little sonofabitch flew toward my house again and again (there was no nest BTW). Finally it landed in a low tree in my neighbors backyard, squawking just to spite me. Insensed, about this time, I took careful aim, not fifteen feet away, over the low wall. I was going to put one right at his feet, like an old western. I hit em dead center, and he flopped over, feet still gripping the branch, then dropped straight down into the ivy below. My vision of a western was disappointed. Just for a moment, my 13 yr old brain said "Bull'seye!" Then, in that same moment, I realized I had killed something. I looked for motion. Nothing. I ran in the house, sat on the bed, and cried my eyeballs out. "God, please. I'm sorry." I went outside, shaking, to bury my fallen enemy. The least I could do was honor his life lesson. "Please, God.. " I said as I went to the ivy. He was nowhere to be found, no blood, not a feather. There were no cats in my neighborhood. He was gone. I took the gun, put it away, and it sat for twenty years. I have no-thank-youed offers to go hunting every time. I taught my son never to kill anything you're not going to eat then and there, even spiders. We catch and release everything...
You sound like a really good father. I don’t think stuff like that usually seems quite as important to parents as it probably should. Apparently there was an experiment where toddlers would be shown videos of adults acting aggressively towards a punching bag to see if how it influenced their behavior, if it did at all. And the kids who were shown that tended to pick up on it and copy it in subtle ways, whether it was by hitting stuffed animals in a similar way they saw the adults hit the punching bags or becoming more physical when they got upset... So I think you’re doing something right by teaching your son to catch and release. Dude... I’m like laughing but... no. Just no.
I think the punishment for our sins can be that they have to stay secret. We cant tell anyone, except our Creator. We have a psychological need to tell someone but it is denied. I know I would be judgemental too if someone told me an awful secret. It is human nature to judge, to distance ourselves from the sin. When we judge others , are we projecting our own guilt for a sin of our own, which may be completely unrelated?
If I was given the chance to give a post-apocalyptic world the chance, I thought I take it, at least then I can eat humans!! I hear they taste like chicken
