    Fuchsia and magenta are nearly the same colour.
    Fuchsia is far closer to pink, being merely a tonally darker fluorescent pink.
    Magenta is two tones darker than Fushsia.
    So technically both are pinks.
    What you have acquired is what is light purple, or if you were wanting to mix it, add equal amounts of cool blue and cool red, add 1:40 parts white and 1:25 parts gum turpentine.
    If the forum calls the colour Magenta, it is by far, wrong.
