    50 Shades of Grey, a mediocre work by any standards, has multiple descriptions of musical pieces without ever mentioning them by name or a composer. That book sold like 50 million copies. So much for "alienating the readers".

    Are you playing naive here? We are not talking about describing a musical piece in general. We are talking about describing it to such a degree that it becomes recognizable as that particular piece by anyone reading it.
