    Crimes by Humanity

Discussion in 'Discussion of Published Works' started by ToBeInspired, Apr 21, 2015.

Reading The Park Service series at the moment and just wondering what people think is part of the more awful parts of human society. From sex racketeering to political corruption. What are the wrongs humans have perceived in your eyes? List them or rant them, share above all.

I'll post my own in a little while. Almost done with book three, want to finish it first.

Genocide, slavery, bigotry on a wide scale. Those three are the pretty big ones.

Don't know what you mean. Crimes by all of humanity (greed, environmental destruction)? Crimes by large segments of humanity (wars, persecution of different races/sexes etc.)? Crimes by individuals (mass murderers)?

Basically any aspects of the worst humanity has to offer, I wager.

I hope this thread doesn't degrade into "Who was worst? Hitler or Stalin? Or Pol Pot? Or Attila the Hun? Or Vlad the Impaler? Or John Wayne Gacy? Or Osama Bin Laden? Or Martha Stewart?"

    Argh.

You're putting bigotry over war, brainwashing, secret police, gross economic inequality, Wall Street, mass suicides, global warming, meth dealers, terrorism, domestic abuse , and child molestors?

I think this is the type of subject that you can never name them all.

We've been social engineered to put bigotry at the top of a very long lost.

I saw Big Daddy once - I don't know how I survived it.

Also the sentence 'Bloody immigrants, coming here and taking our jobs' - No, no no, DOING our jobs. Doing. On time, done well, and with a smile on their faces because they are happy for the work. If I was a boss and two people applied for the same role, a immigrant Muslim with a degree or some slobby, English racist twit without any GCSEs, I know which one I'd pick. I just would ask him to not let his daily prayer bother anyone else.

    <croaked Kurt voice> The horror...the horror...<croaked Kurt voice>

Damn, I forgot his name. Kurt? Conrad? Who da **** said that?! Shame, I wrote an entire flipping paper on Heart of Darkness, I should know! >:[

Of course, if you use a sufficiently broad definition of it, nationalistic warmongering can often be counted as a form of bigotry.

Either slavery or Nicki Minaj. I can't decide which one is worse. Help me out, people.
You could make the argument that slavery affected more people, but doesn't the music cause more trauma in the long run?

The destruction and over use of our natural resources, sociopaths succeeding in life, new-born babies by people who really shouldn't be having children, overpopulation, blind belief/faith, anyone with a red afro, money > progress, governments needing to first be deposed before changing, corruption, lack of funding towards space expansion, and anyone who likes TV wrestling/NASCAR.

Child abuse. The corruption of what is the purest innocence. Child murder. The utter destruction of that innocence. I don't know what is worse. Having your life snatched away or having your life snatched away. In some respects I would have chosen the latter. I don't know how humans are capable. And when we come forward, we're treated no better. It's our fault. I don't understand.

Of course, were you to ask every other sentient living creature on the planet, they may well say that humanity itself is the crime and the earth would be much better off without us...

Half of one of her choruses is "boom buh doom boom boom buh doom boom". It looks even worse when I write it out.

I wouldn't really know. Maybe people have moved on.
