Crap. Figures this happens on a weekend when I'll be able to post every so often.

I have a question. Are all the nanites in our bodies against us now? Since I figure that Fox's nanites should be able to fix the damage that these other nanites did to her. Though if all nanites are against us, then she would probably die, since she has a implant that creates nanites.

 

I think you'll need to discuss that with Raven.

 

Nannites are small little machines. They can only modify the existing they can not just create things from nothing.

As such if they are going to reproduce themselves, build mini factories and repair your woulds they need 'material' to do this.

That material comes from you. Your body. Normally your food. if you have no flood then they start to take the needed material from other parts of your body.

Since you have not eaten Shadow Dragon, your nannites dismantled your foot to proved raw materials. because this caused damage to your body that they now had to fix the infinite cycle loop of death was triggered. (IE: They would kill you very quickly trying to fix you.)

As such Raven said all the nannites were destroyed by this paradox in their directive and have left the bodies of the people they were in.

If this includes your factory I have no idea. - you will have to talk to Raven.

I would assume at the very least shut it down hard until such time that it could be restarted with out killing you - which might take days, to weeks, even months.

 

I know they need raw material, that's why I was going to have her eat, but then the attack happened. Though if it was our own nanites, why was Spencer affected? I don't think he had any nanites in him. Though Kiara did have the nanites that Fox injected into her, and wasn't affected.

 

Those are very good questions and I will try to answer as best as I can. I am not the GM, but this is my understanding of the situation.

Kiara had a full stomach (She ate right before she got dragged off by Ghost to go beat up Jimmy.)

Jimmy however did eat but then puked it up all over Ghost.

We have to wait on Raven regarding Spence, as there might have been some confusion as to who got an injection and who did not.

 

i'm not posting again till this gets cleared up. I think Spence shouldn't have been hit. i don't recall him being hurt. if that gets changed, i'll fix my post gladly. heck... i'd welcome tall-dark-and-quiet right about now, even if he can't hack!... he's the only able-bodied person left, fer cryin out loud!

To pass the time you could always read some of the blogs. Such as the latest blog by that Shadow Dragon guy. I hear its pretty good, and its about Fox's role in his novel.

 

Is anyone going after Wraith? If not can you just let him escape to Australia?

 

I don't like this nanite idea its coming across as making your characters invincible. And that’s just not fair play.

I have never heard of nanites rebuilding limbs like that. even in Cyberpunk if someone loses a limb they head to the bionics department in the hospitals.

I'm all for fair play but not one member has even asked me if they can have Nanites that rebuild limbs. using them to track folk is one thing using them to heal wounds like stab wounds and some gun shots is too fine.

SD has informed me he has a factory in his head somewhere. So the nanites in his body may remain but only on a heal wounds basis

No replacing limbs.

Each character is getting their agendas. And the nanites are kind of an obstacle to the story arch. I am fine with but this rebuilding body parts is way too extreme.

Wow. I missed a bit of debate, haven't I? While I shall not comment on the environmental controls existent in the 28th century, I would wager that somebody along the line would have hacked out a problem to that.

It looks like, though, that Spence should not have gotten hit, and it also looks like Raven undid that nastiness. Thank you! Spence's one distinguishing mark so far is that he has no chips in his head, and no cybernetic limbs. He's still totally human. Although, now that I've mentioned that, he'll probably mysteriously lose a limb or something .

And hey Raven! Can I kill Zarkiel ? I just thought of a really, really cool way to do it. If no, that's cool. I understand GM's prerogative and all that.

I'll be active tomorrow (Sunday) and maybe later today, but I'm not sure. I'll post now and see what happens later.
