Cyberpunk 2766AD

A team of five well armed Enforcers kicked the Hot Bananas doors open. Quickly and professionally the five men took up firing positions near the doors covering the doorway. A further five enforcers stormed in shotguns held forwards they moved into the club ducking down in a crouch the headed for a row of tables. Using the barrels of their guns they smashed the beer bottles across the floor by moving them from the surface. Ten more enforcers armed with auto machine guns laser sights following the barrels the ten stormed in the club and headed for the shooting grounds. The lighting above flickered giving their movements a strange but speedy look. After the ten enforcers had secured good firing positions the two carrying heavy flamers came in followed by another eight.

The two flamers let burst a gush of hot promethium across the dance floor incinerating five of the clubbers. The remaining enforcers opened fire in the club creating a charnel house.

Five more enforcers began making their way to the next level of the club killing anyone in their paths.

Gleeson moved to the back of the club keeping his back pressed against the wall and his pistol held firmly with a two handed grip. He watched as Dekker moved the flyer into position by the roads side. Gleeson was sure if anyone was coming out this would be the way. The back of his mind told him to watch Brekkon she was dangerous and merciless. And Gleeson believed in apprehending his victims not killing them.

Cypher stayed in the shadows watching the force of Enforcers enter the Hot banana he knew they were going in for the kill and that was the problem he wanted to collect on the bounty. Already 50 mill richer and a new chest replacing his weak flesh. He swore before he died he’d be a droid more than a human. But if that improved his skill and kept him living longer he was fine with that.

The sounds of Sirens passed by more enfocers on bikes taking control of the road.

Cypher watched as they began surrounding the front of the club with shock mauls and riot shields. Oh they wanted a slaughter and he could see that’s what was going to happen. Maybe he should stay hidden a while longer. After all Suzu was his intended target.

 

Wraith tried to settle down for the night. It was hard. He was trying to get to sleep under a rag next to a garbage disposal unit. He couldnt get to sleep, the thought of capture kept him awake. He just hoped that he could survive until he had a chance to get some new augments. He needed them....

 

Zu breathed a sigh of relief as the enforcers filtered past him. He still kept his hood up and shades on, but moved away from the crowd, until he was back across the street.

I did what I could, he thought. They're on their own now.

Zu hailed a cabbie. His next destination was the mall, the quickest access to Ino's apartment.

 

Doctor Peter Fillon was out taking a stroll. This was his favourite time the night. He knew he was safe everyone needed a doctor even if he was struck off. He could make a living just as easy.

And there he was laying in the gutter. The Doctor stopped and leant forwards. He recognised Wraith the freebooter. And it was then he took his handy needle gun and shot him in the neck.

Wraith slumped forwards unconscious. Peter managed to drag him to his surgery.

He laid him on a bench. He'd wake in an hour or so. until then Peter sat with the TV on and took out a cold beer putting his feet p he relaxed. Even when Wraith wakes He will still be paralyzed that is until Peter gives him the antidote.

 

No sooner had the words left my lips, than the rapid-fire guns outside the door died down. There was a few moments of confused angry shouting, then a heavy fist pounded on the door again. Louder than the first one... I guess there's two people out there now? Then the guns opened up again. Lots of guns. Lots of different KINDS of guns... I can hear screaming, I can hear the whoosh and crackle of flames... I hear bullets ricochet off the metal door... I turn and look at that narrow little vent again.

"On second thought..."

 

It sounds like it went from a bar fight to a war zone behind the door. The screaming fills my ears and I want to just run from this trap. thirty feet to the next building. I could make the jump only to bounce off the reinforced shatter resistant tempered glass.

Not to mention the Law Enforcers have this place surrounded and it seems are making a mess everywhere. There is no room in their little world for people to be human.

This sucks all around. In every way I could imagine this.

Kiara is making a fuss about wanting to get some licks in. But when you lick someone it is normally a sign of affection, like you lick each others tongues when you kiss, so why is the idea that when you go to hurt or injure someone else you got a lick in? ... ANOTHER TIME!

"On second thought... "

If it was worth killing for to me, who am I to judge.

I peel off my face mask and glove and toss them out the window, followed by most of my other clothing, until I am only wearing my pants and vest. I hate to loose the tie, but, some days you need to make those kinds of sacrificers.

I pull the door open and watch some young women with red hair and beaten to snot armor fall into the room. Behind her another heavy cloaked figure strides in pumping solid shot shells into the other people on the dance club.

Then fire blasts just past the door and I have been given a second to breath.

Please forgive me.

I toss Tolva my assault rifle and draw the service pistols as I charge out of the room screaming like a harpy, I twist in the air and lay several shots into the room, round after round flies into the already busted window until my back lands against the banaster and I flip through the air. The Dance floor was a lot closer then I expected it to me. I believe this is called a face plant.

I force my skin to change into a deep dark almost chocolate color and images of dragons and serpents adorn my arms as I drop to my knees and place my hands behind my back as the Enforcers approach weilding their flame flowers and riot guns.

"I surrender" I call to them and watch them just give me a passing glance, I am just a worthless clubber to them, not their auctual target. I feel my face slam into the floor again as another enforcer straddles on top of me and places cuffstrips on my wrists.

before I know it I am kneeing in a line with almost fifty other people as they tell us to crawl to the transport wagon. Only two officers to guard fifty people? Well then again we are cuffed, and on our knees. Well most of us are at least. I feel the water drench my pants as I slip the cuffstrips fall from my hands. The guy in front of me has to be a hundred and fifty kilos and all solid. Time to make my move.

I tell the brute ahead of me that I am going to make him my unwilling subordinate sexual partner.

That did it. The guy jumps to his feet faster then I expected and plants his boot into my groin. I swear that one piece of food I ate almost came out my nostril form the kick.

The two guards move on the guy. My turn. I bring my hands up and push one guard off the ledge, I watch a cruiser dive to catch him. They all watch the falling guy and now I have my chance, I slam the other guard through the public lavatory door. Once out of sight I plant my boot across his face and send him to dream land.

A quick swap of clothing later I drag him out, dressed in my outfit and hand him over to the waiting officers that came to regain control of the situation. I give a slight salute and a quick nod and I walk back into the bar.

I have a job to do, just not for them

 

As Fox lays on the floor of the room, she looks around. There seems to be two women and some guy that just ran out. Though she can't make out anything specific right now. "We're pretty much screwed aren't we?"

 

Everything happened so fast. For the second time in two days Ghost has leaped into the arms of law enforcement. He's beginning to worry me.

I have been holding my pulse shotgun on the tall cloaked shadow that came into the room with the red-haired girl.

"Kiara, keep her in your sights!" We will keep these two covered until we're reasonably sure they're friendlies.

"You seem to attract trouble," I tell Spence accusingly, "Everything was quiet then you two bring war right to our door, screaming your identity to the world." I spare a glance to Fox, "Are you really aching for someone to collect on that bounty?"

Dammit. What happened to Ghost?

 

"Um, correct me if I'm wrong, but you had several large men pounding on your door before I did anything. So, they already knew who we are, before I told you my name." Fox stares up at the ceiling, as the room spins. "So, do you guys have an escape plan or something?"

 

She has an attitude, great.

"Shoot her." I say to Kiara in a way that really means, Don't shoot the pain in the a** just dump her out the window.

"My friend just sacrificed himself and brought you two in," I growl, "I am assuming that he has a plan. If not our only way out appears to be through the club unless there is a back way."

 

"I'm thankful to your friend for letting us in. Well, there are enforcers everywhere out there, so I don't know what he can do. So, I guess we going to get captured. Damn. Also, could you get the damn room to stop spinning."

 

I hear the squad leader shouting orders to kill anyone that remains armed or resisting. The fiasco outside has them on edge now, even cuffed they realize that these gangers can still fight.

Several shots and the screaming woosh of flame throws fill the room. The crowed is dispersing, black smoke form the burning liquor and bodies is filling the entire place with a stench that could drop a elephant. Which is odd because elephants have a very highly developed sense of smell, and are far more prone to be revolted by smells that a human could not even detect... GAH!

The team leader is calling for us to put on our masks and move on. They seem to be focusing on the room that we were all in. "Shields Up" I hear the call ring out and the hum of force shields fills around me. "Burn them out!" the call goes and another blast of flame fills the hall followed by death screams and the cries of those not lucky enough to die outright.

I need to do something... but what?

We are getting close the door, I can see the woman still just laying there, and then another blast hits the shields, there is that distinct mummer from them like they are disagreeing with being shot at but no effect beyond that.

"20 seconds" The call fills the air and the team starts to charge the door... right. Force Shields, even the best only have 30 seconds before they can have issues. Very unhealthy issues.

I need to do something, but what. I need to play this out and hope I things go some way that we can get out of this.

 

Zu hopped out of the cabbie and stared straight up. The mall was just the first part in a tall, intricate network of buildings that lead to the upper levels of the city. The neon lights were enough to make any tripped out druggie stare for hours. It was beautiful to look at, and Zu often wondered how man had advanced from wood and straw to this. He sighed heavily and made his way in, it was time to change appearances again. He made his way inside and was stopped by security as he set an alarm off. ****, the belt, he thought as he looked at the belt. The guard motioned for him to open up his jacket.

"Sorry officer," was all he said.

Zu looked down. The dead guard's badge was still attached. Zu nodded and walked inside. He hastened his step, in case the guard realized who he just talked to.

He pulled his hood lower and made his way to the pharmacy store first to by some shaving cream and a razor. He made his way into the pharmacy's bathroom, locked the door and proceeded to shave his goatee. He gave his head a once over also, to take care of the tiny hairs that were sprouting. Once finished, he tossed his glasses and jacket in the trashcan and walked out.

Zu made his way to the trendy clothing store de Néon's. The stores mixture of techno chique, high class, and bondage invaded every sense Zu had. The darkly lit room and black lights place sporadically through out. Women in barely there leather hanging on the arms of men with big muscles. Zu kept himself as traditional as possible. 200 for a gray hoodie, 75 for a sleeveless white tee, and 500 for some loose leather pants. He also purchased a thin silver chain for 400. He left the store and made for another bathroom, quickly changing clothes and dumping the old ones. He kept the mace and retractable baton in his pants pockets, tucked the gun in the back, and put the flashbangs in the hoodie pockets. He took the badge, and clipped it to his chain. He tossed his hood up and walked back out into the mall. Now he just had to figure out how to navigate the behemoth complex to get to the upper levels. He programed his GPS and a map came up in his mind's eye. Zu gave his surroundings a once over and started his course to Ino's apartment.

 

I don't like our options they range from bad to worse so I go for plain bad.

"Kiara," I say, "I'm going out. I'll try to draw them into the club. You take these two and run like hell for the back way."

I look at her and smile in the dimness.

"See you in another life if I can't catch up. Keep to the code."

Slapping her on the arm and keeping my hands away from my shotgun in my boot, I slip on the ring and open the door enough to slide out.

"I'm comin' out!" I tell the enforcers, "Hold your fire!"

I hope I sound suitably drunk or drugged as I step into their vision, hands raised.

"Hey," I complain, walking toward them, "Whaz it take for a girl to get a little shut-eye in this town?"

 

The enforcers open firing on anyone breathing in the Hot Banana people start fleeing crying and screaming before long the mass of bodies begin crushing the life out of those closest to the ground. Lieutenant Farrel shouts.

“Burn the Bastard’s out.”

The two armed with flamers let light and promethium burns hundreds of the fleeing. The whole place becomes a charnel house. The enforcer’s back up to avoid been caught up in the display of flames now spreading across the whole complex.

Gleeson kicks the back door down smoke hits him head on followed by a backdraft of explosions knocking him to the ground. He backs up towards the Police flyer were detective Dekker sits waiting. He stumbles into the passenger seat. His gun still held tightly. Dekker pats his metal cranium and points the enforcers coming around to the back.

“Oh my god they’re butchering them all.” He says allowed.

Dekker takes his gun in hand and steadies his hand on the clutch.

“What now.” He says.

“We wait. I have a feeling those freebooters possess data that they know not of inside they’re brains.” Detective Sergeant Gleeson replies.

“You think.”

“Well one of them does at least. Why else would the Sekki Corp be here and have the enforcers in full.”

More enforcers begin to approach from flyers hovering above the Hot banana building the passenger pilots sitting half out of their seats taking aim with the bulky heavy stubbers. Chains of bullets dangling from their loading chambers.

Before long more and more enforcers begin to approach the whole street level quarantining the area off. And then the Cyber police take point on the now set road blocks.

High up on the edge of a building Vornn stands watching at least a hundred and fifty enforcers and Cyber police surround and enter the hot banana club. His cloak flaps about from the gale force of the strong wind and the rain patters across the top of his hood. The Hilt of his sword occasionally becoming visible as his cloak flaps back and fourth. The long strands of his fair blow about his frowning face. And his eyes glow a golden yellow under the night light.

I race back into the room and grab Kiara, hauling Fox from the floor, and shove Spence all toward the window.

Holy God, there is a police hover there. Providence or worse trouble, I don't care.

"Jump!" I scream and lead the way as the wall of fire races into the room and heads for us.

((I'm assuming that Gleeson has a hover at the back entrance which is right near our window.))

 

Gleeson sees two targets leaving the building.

"Dekker there. Pick 'em up. Questions to be asked. quick." Gleeson yells.

Dekker zooms down as fast as possible. He picks Kiara Spence and Tolva up the flyer zooms off.

"Enjoy the ride." Dekker says tapping his metal cranium.

"Gleeson watches enforcers kick the back doors open and chharge in firing guns.

"So why's the Sekki copr put a price of 50 mill on you two and 55 on you Tolva." Gleeson asks. while watching the flyer sore to the upper spires of the city.

 

Fox feels the two girls pull her, as the place suddenly heats up. She thinks to herself "Damn, I hate being out of it." She suddenly see the sky and feels herself falling. "F***!" She feels herself fall into a hoover. "Well, that was unpleasant."

 

Vornn drops through the flames after smashing his way through a sut stained window. Enforcers have covered the whole complex and are now backing away from the burning building. Quickly Vornn sees Tolva Spence and Kiara leave. He darts to their exit point and watches the flyer with them head high upwards.

He turns looks at the burning building unsure of the others he decided to leave using the same route he as the others.

Once outside he looks around and moves to a safe distance waiting for a glimpse of a target. In the distance he glimpses Cypher doing the same.

 

What... the... F**K... just happened?!? First, Ghost bolts out the door howling like a wild animal, trips, and freaking DISAPPEARS, while at the same time, Fox and some big guy with a shotgun are now in the room with us, and now we aren't in the room at all... we jumped out the freaking window... two-f***ing thousand feet up, and we jumped... and now we're in a police hover car, unrestrained, being asked questions...It all happened so quick I think I'm getting a headache.
"So why's the Sekki corp put a price of 50 mill on you two and 55 on you Tolva."
"Now ain't that the 155 million credit question. Wish I knew." I mutter sarcastically. I swear, my smart-@$$-ness is gonna get me killed one of these days. Hope it's not today.

 

Suddenly Vornn glimpses Fox. He unsheathes his sword takes a firm hold and moves swiftly between shadows. He leaps and plants the blade in Fox’s shoulder. Again he retracts and stabs for in the arm. A large Cal bullet slams into Vornns chest knocking him back. He looks and sees Cypher charging towards. Vornn again moves to attack Fox. And again Cyher fires this time knocking Vornn from his feet.

Cypher pulls out the plasma pistol aims and fires at Fox himself.

 

Gleeson turned to the smart arse.

Now ain't that the 155 million credit question. Wish I knew."

Yeah ain't it just. Sekki have the whole force after you. Not to mention Vornn. and he's not a warrior I'd want after me. Sh!t no."

 

As soon as the hoover lands, the yellowed eyed bounty hunter attacks it and stabs Fox in the shoulder. She screams in pain. Her tail unwraps itself from her leg, and stands up. It looks like a cobra, coiled and ready to strike. She pulls out her gun and aims it at the new comer. Everythinged seem to go in slow motion and she couldn't hear any noise. She pulls the trigger, releasing and endless spray of energy shots. Fox just hoped that her tail can fend off yellow eyes.

 

Both Cypher and Vornn begin a fight Vornn landing the hilt of his sword in Cypher’s face. Cypher drops back his nose bloodied. Vornn steps to the side ducking a punch from Fox. Using his left boot he kicks fox three metres back across the street. Then turns back to Cypher. Again he hits Cypher across the face with his swords hilt. Finally he swings it around and slices ciphers plasma pistol in half.

Raged at this outcome Cypher shoots Vornn with the other Vornn again stumbles back. And again Cypher fires. Vornn again stumbles back to the edge of the high road from the burning Hot Banana club. Cypher fires again Vornn falls back over the roads balcony. But in doing saw his blade raises and slices Cypher’s face down the centre splitting his nose. Cypher screams. And falls back into the shadows.

Damn Freebooter. You lucky bastard Cypher calls taking his gun and holding his face gushing blood everywhere he flees.

 

I pulled my legs into the hover. I had darned near missed falling into it and my heart was still pounding. I crowded in with Kiara and the Spence guy, trying to look like I LIKED riding around in an enforcer hover and had that in mind the whole time.

"Don't talk to 'em," I tell Kiara in a low tone, "There's nothing that they need to know."
