Jack took the other chair, the urgency of the new threat stimulating him into action. He scanned the computer banks and found an info terminal. He tapped a key, and a prompt appeared.

    USERNAME:

    He shrugged.

    root <enter>

    PASSWORD:

Hm. He looked around the computer banks and found nothing. He took a small instrument from his belt, connected it to a port, and waited. Its job was to break down all the constraints on password entry and enumerate all possible passwords, using the common ones first. It didn't take long.

"Okay, I got admin access on this terminal. Let's see what's inside..." He punched up a few commands, looking through the database controls. The list of 'specimens' was huge. He tried to cancel the releases.

    DENIED: PROCESS LOCKED BY ADMINISTRATOR.

"I am the administrator!" He tried again, same response.

    : terminate <enter>

    TERMINATING SPECIMENS
    HYPR 4 LOB#10 TO HYPR 4 LOB#85. OKAY?

His hand hovered, shaking slightly, above the key. No, it wasn't okay. These were lives. Real human lives. Each of these people could have been heroes, with dreams and experiences and feelings.

Against his own will, he finished it.

    : y <enter>

A click, and then the sound of rushing fluid came forth from each of the tubes. In a matter of seconds, they were all drained, and all the cables and tubes removed from them, the figures they held sinking to the bottoms in quiet death.

    Jack slumped in his chair.

    "What...have I done...?"

Nero put a hand on Cyrus's shoulder.

"What was required." Castillene assured, watching as the helpless experiments died without ever being born. Their existence cut short. Angel sat at the swivel chair to Cyrus's right. Cyrus lifted his head to look at the sergeant and an unspoken agreement was settled in their heads. Nero nodded. For now Castillene said to himself, Only for now..

He walked towards Karasu, who had both hand planted firmly on the tubes glass. The killers emotions had finally surfaced, and Nero's were slowly disappearing. "Karasu... Are you okay?" the sergeant inquired.

"Why did we have to kill them? They didn't even threaten us sir." he replied stalely. Nero couldn't fathom why Karasu had developed these feelings, maybe all the killing finally got him to snap. Perhaps the same reason your fading away? his minds voice questioned.

"We didn't kill them Karasu, we simply delivered them away from a future they didn't deserve. War requires sacrifice private, you amongst all of us should know that." Nero answered. Karasu seemed to settle down a bit. "Come with me, lets check on the others."

If it was me, Angel thought, I would have those tubes hooked to an alarm somewhere.

As Jack worked to cut off the life support systems Angel put everything out of her mind but the task at hand. She didn’t feel the tears that still occasionally fell as her fingers raced over the keyboard.

Angel and Jack traded a few quiet words as they worked and he gave her admin access on her terminal.

She searched for and found the silent alarm function, groaning as she saw that it had probably been tripped when Nero had shot the first tube. With a few keystrokes she killed it, hoping that whoever was on the other end hadn’t noticed the alarm.

But they would have to assume the worst.

Then fluid was rushing from the tubes, some of the children’s mouths opening as though gasping for air as their limbs twitched and jerked.

Angel turned away and looked at Jack instead. He was gazing in horror at the quiet carnage.

    "What...have I done...?"

Nero stood by them and placed his hand on Jack's shoulder. "What was required." he and Jack looked at each other for a moment and then Nero turned away to confer with Karasu who was looking gut shot and staring into a tube, his hand on the glass.

Jack stared far too hard at the tubes.

Angel faced him, laid a palm against his cheek, and forced him to look at her.

“Jake,” his eyes met hers and he looked utterly wretched, “you had to do it. Do you hear me? You HAD to do this. Their lives would have been hell no matter what. Look at this.”

She went into files that she had noticed but ignored on her quest for the alarm shutoff and showed him the data files that had been constantly transmitted to the tubes:

    CHILDMEM
    EDU
    TEACHINGS

“They were being bombarded with this. With memories that weren’t theirs, with education so that they could function, and I’m guessing that the TEACHINGS one probably is brainwashing directly from the Cult of Tech.”

    Angel looked at Jack again.

“You did the right thing.” She touched his knee gently and his hand wrapped around hers.

“Now for the really bad news,” Angel raised her voice so that Karasu and Nero could hear as well, “the silent alarm had been tripped for several minutes before I managed to turn it off.. We have to assume that there enemies on the way here to defend their future adepts right now.”

All he could do was stare silently ahead in anguish, mourning for the lives that never were.

He felt Nero's firm hand on his shoulder, and Jack looked up at him and nodded slowly. There was an understanding there, of a truce. For now, at least, they would work together. Not because they were friends, but because duty demanded it.

Nero left, but still Jack felt only despair until Angel came to him. He felt her gentle hand on his cheek. He looked again into those infinite eyes.

He looked at her terminal, and had to read only a small portion of it to be reassured. The fate that he had given them was a release from all the torture that would be their lives.

He gripped her hand gently in a silent gesture of thanks.

“Now for the really bad news: the silent alarm had been tripped for several minutes before I managed to turn it off.. We have to assume that there enemies on the way here to defend their future adepts right now.”

Jack nodded and whirled back to his terminal, his hands flying over the keys. He brought up a list of alerts.

"Sure enough. A security team is on the way." He entered more commands. "They'll be coming through..." He pointed. "That door." He looked back at his teammates.

    "Ambush, anyone?"

The Lieutenant rants and raves a bit about nerd-boy not following her back, then commands Bull to go get him. Bull doesn't look too thrilled, and in a stroke of kindness that I have NO idea where it came from, I pipe up and save his bacon, "I'll go get him." They both give me a bit of a funny look... can't say as I blame them, so I follow up with "You guys start moving, hopefully I'll be caught up in a minute with Hotdog in tow... even if I have to drag him by his ear." I turn and make my way back up the corridor, back to where I last saw the little twerp, praying nothing jumps me.

"Right." Bull takes point as him and her continue down the hall. Its lined up with failed experiments. The people in the tubes look as though they are simply falling apart in the yellowish liquid. Its sickening. Ash tries not to look at them, and instead just looks down. The two eventually come two a door marked, "Upgrade lab 21-AB555WQ-12" Ash nods to Bull and they enter the room.

What she saw there is the most horrific thing she could have ever imagined. There are living people strapped down onto lab tables. There eyes, and ears are gone; also they appear to not be able to talk. Some of their flesh has been torned off, revealing their so called upgrades. She notices that a few of them even have military tattoos on them. Turning her eyes in disgust, she sees that there are living people inside of tubes along the wall, in the process of being upgraded, though not by choice.

"Ambush, anyone?" Jack suggested, Nero agreed.

"Alright, since we are going to have them come through only one door, we will set up a crossfire, two next to the computers to hit them head on and two to cut off their chance of retreat so we have no messengers." Castillene ordered, he seemed to be getting some authority back, but there was only one true test.

"Cyrus, you and I will act as the scissor, we'll let them run in and analyze the situation for a few seconds before we return fire so we have them boxed in. Is that understood?" Nero said, this would be a surefire way to prove if Jack still trusted him, and to use his tactical prowess to wipe out the coming enemy.

Nero looked at the room, the computers had thick desks in the center all facing the tubes. "Alright, usual security response teams take two minutes to react, so lets get set up."

"Angel and Karasu, find two spots near the computer desks, one to the left and the other to the right and don't shoot early." he said.

"Cyrus, follow me." Nero said, Cyrus accepted loyally, more out of duty than friendship. The sergeant whispered something to Jack and the computer lover winced. "Look, either that or i'll shove you in there okay?" Nero snapped. Jack nodded.

There were two tubes to either side of the door that the quick response team would be coming through. Nero stood in front of the one to the left, and smashed the glass with the stock of his rifle. Cyrus did the same on the opposite side. Nero reached in and pulled out the infant cadaver, Jack did as well, but with a grimace. They lay them on the ground and hoisted themselves up and into the tubes. Both aiming at the door. Small puddles of the green fluid went around Nero's boots. He turned to Cyrus, who seemed equally appalled. This was it.

"On my mark Alpha!" Nero barked.

Angel nodded, her composure restored now that there was action to be taken.

She took the left hand side of the computer desk, nodding to Karasu as he took up his position on the right. She pulled her plasma pistol with one hand and her stunner baton with the other. If they weren't successful, if one of the Tech Security team managed to rush her they'd be down for the count.

    She hoped.

Jack didn't look at the body as he pulled it out of the tube. Breaking down again right now was the very last thing he wanted to do. He stepped up into the chamber, back against the wall for support as he held his pistol up and remained perfectly still. He focused in on the door, waiting for the movement.

His mind planned out the possible scenarios. If they didn't get all of these things down in the first blaze, he would have to move. He was backed into a relative corner, and the room was dark. They'd know enough to fire at muzzle flash.

    His heart pounded in anticipation.

    The door opened.

Posting for Karasu and Nero. Alpha Squad.

Karasu braced himself against the desk, with his duel pistols aiming at the only entrance they had to pay attention to. "Angel, remember not to shoot until the Sergeant says to." He said in a low tone. He raised his head up to scan the area one more time, and the door burst open.

    _______________________

Nero shielded his eyes, they had planted a breaching charge, and the door flew off the hinges, sliding with a screech against the ground. Twelve armed soldiers burst in yelling orders in a foreign tongue. They checked the first row of computers, finding nothing. They were almost puzzled that they weren't being fired upon.

    That feeling didn't last long.

Nero put up one fist in the air.

In almost an instant, guns were blazing. Karasu had stood up at full height and pulled the trigger of each handgun indivually, making one soldier jerk left and right before falling to the ground. Angel fired once with her plasma pistol, the searing hot energy punching through the chestplate of another trooper. The force of the blast causing the trooper to slide across the ground on it's back. Dead.

Cyrus aimed his weapon, ready to fire, but Nero shook his head. Not yet he mouthed, not actually speaking with his voice. Cyrus lowered his weapon and awaited his mark. The fire fight was becoming fierce.

"Angel, remember not to shoot until the Sergeant says to."

Angel fought down the urge to zap Karasu with the stun baton. She was career military, what did he think she had filled her time with, knitting classes?

Then the door opened and she waited, muscles trembling with anticipation until she saw Nero punch upwards. She and Karasu laid down a blanket of fire that set the security detail back on their heels, blew holes in them, and sent them to the floor hard.

But still the others kept coming, pouring through the breached doorway and as they came the surprise was lost. She and Karasu were taking fire from the enemy now and they ducked down behind the computer console, returning fire from around it.

Blood sprayed as a bulky cyborg fell over the top of the console as though he was trying to reach for her. His eyes glowed dimly and his hands twitched as he died, his blood dripping from the console onto the chair Angel had sat in only a few moments before.

I hear voices punctuated by gunfire. Somethings not right... I break into a run, and arrive just in time to spot a 9 foot tall, glowing, armored... thing... dissipate into specks of light and disperse. The effect was just like Hotdog's solid-light map thing, but on a huge scale. I can't take any time to be shocked at that, tho... I scan the room, pistol out and ready, but I see no movement, no signs of life. I step into the room, and that's when I notice it: a pair of bodies next to each other; one, a cyborg that appeared to have been ripped limb-from-limb, and the other, the headless body of Hotdog next to a pattern of gore on the ground indicating his head was most likely blown off. The shock of it is like a punch in the gut. Even if I didn't like the guy, no one should have to die like that.

I take a moment to collect myself... the urge to puke is strong, but I fight it back. I gingerly roll the body to one side and get the comm. unit from his pack, leaving the rest of the pack, and his techie gauntlets... I don't think any of us would be able to figure out how to work them on such short notice, but we can't be without SOME form of communications. I glance at him one more time, but have to turn away... the sheer amount of blood is making me squeamish. I wish I could do more... I guess if we win we can do a proper burial later. I try to comfort myself with that thought as I start off through the corridors again, making my way back to the rest of my unit. The Lieutenant won't like the news I have for her.

Ash manages to compose herself a little and looks straight at one of the bodies that is squirming around on the lab table. She takes a deep breath, and mentally prepares herself for what she knows, she has to do. Putting the end of her pistol to one of the bodies head, it begins to shake. Anyone could see the fear in the captive, thinking that he is about to get upgraded again. Ash stares straight into the holes, where its eyes used to be, and whispers to it "Don't worry. You will die free."

Bang. Its head explodes onto the table. She puts her finger into the blood and uses it to draw a pentacle onto the person's chest. "May the gods give you happyness in the next life time. She repeats the process, for all ten of them inside the lab. Killing the ones inside the tubes as well.

She turns back to Bull. "Even if I have to do it myself. Every one of those Sekki and machine bastards will die here."

The door blew open, and the fight had begun. Nero gave the signal, and Angel and Karasu began to blaze away at the incoming intruders. He looked over at him for the okay, but he mouthed his response.

    "Not yet."

Jack remained focused, picking targets and planning is first few shots.

"GO!" Nero bellowed as he let loose a volley of shots. The flash from his rifle lit up that side of the room like sheet lightning. Jack brought his gun up and began putting rounds into the mob of soldiers, aiming for heads. He leaped out of the chamber and moved quickly behind a bank of computers, laying down fire as he went.

There were more than they expected. His first clip clattered to the floor and he replaced it quickly. Rounds blazed past him. It wasn't long before the enemy had fanned out, taking a batter tactical position. Jack alternated crouching behind the computers, and leaning out to make shots.

Why had they sent so many?

Cyrus had fired his plasma pistol with all the vigor of a lion, blowing off two heads of the now shocked soldiers. Nero had fired in bursts of two, the silenced weapon giving off a pooch-pooch, pooch-pooch noise as their bodies were riddled with rounds.

Nero hopped out of the tube, one soldier turned to address the new threat, but was only able to yell an order that was cut short. Castillene shoved the knife into the soldiers visor, it ripped through the bridge of the nose, spitting blood in misty plumes inside the helmet.

The sergeant threw the bloody soldier aside as he squealed in pain, kicking another trooper in the leg mercilessly. The soldiers knee turned in the opposite direction, bending at an angle that his creator never intended.

The adept screamed as it fell onto the ground, giving a sudden yelp as Castillene put a round in it's forehead with his pistol.

Cyrus was in good cover, firing cover shots in Nero's direction. Nero rolled as a column of bullets streaked up the steel ground towards him, small sparks exploding on the ground as they attempted to get to the stealth professional.

Nero blind fired at the troopers, lifting his gun over the desk and shooting in a sweeping motion. Their numbers are thinning Nero thought. Slamming another clip into the Hydra rifle.

They were thinning, but not through yet. And they had advanced. One leaped around the corner at Jack, who came instantly to his feet. His leg came up and he kicked the soldier's gun free. He used the momentum of his kick to come around again, slamming his other foot into the soldier's stomach. He doubled over, and Jack put two rounds into his head through the helmet. Blood and gore leaked from underneath as he fell.

Another came from behind, and Jack whirled, bringing his fist into the man's mouth. He assaulted him with quick jabs, and he jerked backwards at each strike. When he finally fell, Jack planted his foot solidly against his chin, and kicked his foot forward, breaking his neck. He put a round into his face to make sure.

He turned back, sensing movement and dropped to the ground, rolling forward as a volley of bullets screamed over his head. He came to his feet and jumped, crushing the shooter's throat with his kick.

Two more were bringing weapons to bear near the door. He double-tapped the trigger twice, giving each of them two rounds.

He looked to the others, ensuring that they still fared well...

The few soldiers that were left were dispersing behind the tubes. Alpha team had to stop them quickly before the soldiers could slip around behind them or leave to get reinforcements.

Angel had stayed down as much as possible once Nero and Cyrus had begun to shoot. It seemed like hot lead and plasma were everywhere and she didn't want to get in the way.

One soldier crouched and ran past her position. She fired at him and missed as he darted behind a tube that held a baby. She could see his distorted shape behind the glass as he drew down on her.

She didn't think but pointed and shot by instinct. The hot plasma cut through the glass and shattered it all over the trooper, leaving a burnt-out smoking hole in his chest and a sprinkle of glass over him as he fell.

The elevator fell as though in free-fall and Midori clung to the grating, dazed from the blast, sure that the end of the ride would be the end of the road for her.

The cage began to slow, though, and by the time it stopped it was with a hard slam that rapped her head against the floor rather than a bone-crushing smash she had expected.

She struggled, unwilling to be helpless when the doors swung open.

A blast of hot, fetid air slapped her in the face and a red glow seemed to advertise Welcome to Hell.

"This place just gets better and better," she muttered, still kneeling on one knee, her shotgun up in the ready position as she darted wary looks in every direction.

In front of the elevator was a crevasse of rock, narrow and stretching away far higher than her small visor light could reach. She could see only about ten feet in front of the elevator before the huge monoliths that made up the bones of the planet obscured her view.

The reddish glow was everywhere, the heat intense. She saw nothing that moved but she felt watched, stalked, and unwelcome.

Midori tried to still her own breathing as sweat ran down her face, her heartbeat thundering in her ears as she swept the shotgun back and forth.

Fresh flesh, fresh meat It seemed to be a whisper at the edge of hearing as though something in this ancient place was discussing her.

A second ago she didn't want to be in the elevator ever again. Now she couldn't bring herself to leave it. Instead she kept her eyes on what she could see through the open door as she stepped to the simple control panels and blindly hit some buttons. Surely one would take the elevator back up.

    Nothing happened.

The darkness seemed to close in on her, a living thing, and the red glow intensified. A faint buzzing began. Something very bad was happening.

Midori hit buttons feverishly. Some combination MUST take this thing back up.

When the slick dark tentacles slid from the shelter of rock and flowed toward her she screamed and shot at them again and again. They jerked and coiled away, one tentacle whipping into the elevator, grabbing her around the ankle.

It pulled her from her feet just as her hand slapped the buttons again. She was being dragged from the elevator, shooting and screaming, when the door slammed down on the tentacle, severing it, and with a stomach-wrenching launch the elevator shot back up the shaft.

Midori lay on the floor of the speeding elevator wishing for something to hang on to, staring at the severed tentacle around her boot and wondering where she would end up this time.

I reach the room that I had left my unit from, and as I had expected, they aren't there. I know the general direction they were headed, so I continue along that path... then I hear more gunfire in a room up ahead. Crap! Not again! Who's getting shot up this time? I won't be much good down here alone. I pelt down the hallway, stopping right outside the door to peek in cautiously. My worst fears are unfounded as all I see in the room is Bull, and the Lieutenant... the former slowly sweeping the room with his eyes, scanning for any threat, and the latter, putting a round into one of the tubes that lined the walls. A quick glance around the room reveals more tubes, all filled with hideously tortured victims missing arms, legs, eyes, and other body parts I didn't want to think about, all of them shot to death and bearing a star drawn in blood on their chests.

Bull notices my entrance and gives me a slight nod as he casually spits yet another brown wad on the floor. I steel myself as the Lieutenant turns to face me, an unreadable expression on her face. "Bad news, Ma'am. Private Oscar Dumont is dead." She smirks, but I continue before she can respond, "It appeared that he gave his life combating one of the more advanced adepts... I found him next to a dead cyborg. I also retrieved his comm. unit." I held it up briefly. As I began to put it away, I noticed the screen flicker oddly. Hmm. I could have sworn I had it turned off. I frown at the small device as I fiddle with the switches... Hotdog modified this thing a little, but the off-switch is still pretty obvious... and still pretty 'off'. I shrug it off to stress and tuck the small gadget away into one of my pockets. "Ready to move on whenever you are, Ma'am."

It was officially the suckiest ride I’d ever been on, I stared at the severed tentacle again then licked my lips and stared at the door of the elevator door. The elevator was still whirring god only knew where I was headed next. It stopped with a jerk and I almost shot through the ceiling, my nerves getting the better of me. I’m hesitant about getting out. I sweep the shotgun about searching the room for anything that moves.

There was a sweeping arch outside of the elevator it dipped down into a deep incline. I looked down and frowned ferrocrete. I’m starting to feel woozy just looking below. There is a dome over my head and the red skies show fleeting clouds. I spot a man moving beneath me, it’s flint. I shout out to him but he can’t hear me from down there. He vanishes into the vast cityscape and I close my eyes for several moments frustrated. I decide sulking isn’t the best way to deal with things and move along the arch there’s a door several meters away from me, I decide the door looks more promising, then the crappy elevator and its pick a room game.

I open the door and frowned as twenty or so silver balls the size of my fist roll out. I frown and use my boot to shove them aside. As I do razor blades shoot out the side of one and imbed them selves in the side of my boot. I howl in pain and stumble back. As I do the balls begin to hover in the air each one sprouting little blades that glisten. I turn to run and there is one in front of my face, a quick movement and its opened my left check open. I raise my gun and blast it, big mistake. The others take up the defence and I bolt to the elevator slamming the cage doors behind me. The elevator makes a ding even though I never touched any buttons and the hell express is on its way again. I kick the elevator a few time and my boots become a gory shade of crimson. I sigh and sit on the floor of the elevator. It’s time for action plan number two, I’m going to sulk.

Angel made herself small behind the computer desk as gunfire of every kind laced the air. She could hear the grunts and the occasional screams of the men and every now and then an encouragement or warning from one man on her team to another.

She could also hear something else.

A low hissing that she realized now she had been hearing for maybe the last minute but the firefight had distracted her from it. It was steady like escaping –

She sniffed and was sure as the sharp smell met her nostrils.

“Sergeant!” She yelled as loud as she could, “Hazothane gas, we need to get out! We need to stop firing and run like hell!”

Hazothane was an extremely unstable gas that was used in the hypergrowth process. The damage to some of the tubes must have caused a constant leak in the air. When the lab built up with enough of it one plasma burst or spark would cause an unholy explosion.

Angel heard Nero bellowing for the team to get out, get out and they ran for the door that the soldiers had come in by, Nero at the back of the group still peppering them with his particular brand of encouragement as they ran.

They could hear the running stomp of the three remaining cyborgs following them. There were no shots, maybe the Adept soldiers were as determined to get away from the blast as they were.

Angel ran like a deer, rock wall to her left and smooth ferrocrete to the right. They needed out of the corridor or they would be cooked by the blast as it flashed along this corridor.

When she came to a metal door in the stone she bashed herself against it but it didn’t budge. She got out of the way and one of the men kicked it open. They all spilled through, slamming the door shut against the blast and the cyborgs. The lock engaged and the team backed away from the door as two long seconds went by.

The cyborgs pounded on the door, panicked.

And then the Hazothane caught fire with a resounding WHUMP, shooting outward through both open doors of the lab and incinerating everything in it, and the cyborgs in the corridor, all in a moment.

Nero smashed his fist into the side of the cyborgs head that had come around the corner of the desk. Karasu was close by, jumping up and over desks while shooting with both pistols.

Vials of chemicals lay on a desk next to the first tubes. Nero ran towards them as the bullets splintered the wooden desk he had took cover in a second earlier. The sergeant carefully tried to pull the vial out of the holder, but was slammed with weight.

A soldier had him in a choke hold, Nero unsheathed his combat knife and stabbed it behind him, it wedged fast in the cyborgs ribs. Then Castillene whirled and threw the vial into the soldier face.

In a few grotesque seconds, the acids from the vial ate away at the muscle tissue of the soldiers head. The trooper shrieked as it clawed at its own face, losing chunks of flesh in a horrible display of the cyborgs internal mechanisms.

“Sergeant!” he heard Angel yell. Nero whipped around to see Angel shoot and then duck into cover. “Hazothane gas, we need to get out! We need to stop firing and run like hell!”.

"F**k!" Nero snarled, rolling into new cover and putting two bursts of his Hydra rifle into another soldier. "Alpha! Evacuate now, get out! Get out!" he bellowed.

The members of Alpha covered each other expertly as they escaped through the same door as the troopers had come in. Nero, at the back of the group, suppressed the enemy response team with hails of lead. Forcing them to take cover. It would only be a matter of seconds now before someone fired a bullet and ignited the gas.

Then they turned and ran full speed towards a door at the end of the tunnel, the soldiers running after them hot on their heels. Angel thrust herself against the door, but it didn't move. Then Castillene kicked out, swinging it ajar.

They ran inside. "Cyrus, Help me shut it!" Nero barked. Cyrus and Nero slammed their weight against the door, the multiple soldiers on the other side unable to match their adrenaline fueled strength. Then, a loud Thump against the door, and the entire enemy response team were to charcoal.

Nero gasped. "Where the hell are we?" he said, panting hard.

"Damn, I don't like people under my command dying. For now on, unless I say so, the three of us stick together. Come on, lets move out." says Ash, as she kills the last of the living people.

With Bull taking point, the three of them move through the machine jungle, and closer to the gate. Ash wonders to herself "How are we supposed to do something with the gate, without a tech specialist."

After all the chaos, the gas, the fire, the explosion, and the bullets Karasu paced around to dwindle on what he just did. He opened his pouch and took out an ID card.
The ID card read: Linda Spritz, Head Director.
She was fairly attractive woman with long brown hair and tan skin. She had a natural beauty no one else could pull off. The effect and consequence of what Karasu did to those children crushed on him. He had broken his promise to this woman. He had promised he wouldn't ever kill her children...their children.
Karasu slipped the ID card in his pouch, he wouldn't let any of his teammates know. He gained his composure and looked at his teammates.
    "Shall we go?" Karasu asked.

Flint wondered for a while until his feet found him tired to keep moving. Looking at the glass dome above flint decided to rest a while. He sat down taking a drink from his canister and took the time to check his gun. He removed the magazine from behind the trigger hand and checked the loaded bullets. All was well. The sound of a bike drew near. He took his double headed axe in both hands and ran to the side of a wall, taking a peek he saw the bike was driven by a soldier with two bionic hands and have a face melted to a metal cranium. He lifted his axe and threw himself out in front of the bike. Swinging his Axe he took the riders head clean from the neck. The bike carried on until falling on its side. Quickly he ran to the bike gathered his equipment and took the seat. Seconds later he was off soaring through the city.

Behind him another bike came up close. The warrior hefting a chainsaw. Flint took to speed and quick but the other began to match his speed. He swung the chainsaw down missing but merely hitting Flint. Flint hit full reverse backed away from the other then revved up and charged on swinging his double headed axe. One swing down and the chainsaw stumbled from the others hand. One swing up took the warrior from the bike missing half his head while blood rained back as the others bike came to a crash. Flint carried on.
