In case you had a little trouble deciphering my (truly awesome) text art in my thread title, it is two people hugging ... and perhaps dancing. Now, I know that my skill is truly great, so me having to explain it might be redundant but bear with me. I am Knotting, and greetings to you. I have been writing since I was a young teenager of around thirteen. I had a strangely inspiring dream and so I decided to write it down, and I have been writing ever since. My desire for joinning this forum is read and review other people's work. Right now I am writing a book series that has so far taken me about four years to get what I have gotten now. It is a very tender project to me because I started it when I was still young, as a writer and as a person. Now I am a little older and a little more skilled for all these years of practice, or at least I hope I have learned something. But my wife gives me more then enough feedback on that project so, for now, I don't think I will drop too many hints of it here. I'd just like to be a small part of something like this. And, truth be told, I am a little lonely as of late.
well hello lonely, Mr. greatness himself heehee... for hug I simply use yahoo's > : D < if you need two do it twice > : D < > : D < now that my friend is truly inspired art Hope you enjoy your stay, and you find something to fill the void.
I like your text art, and I like this too: @(///..0)@ monkey l=l:~) man in hat (please ignore my immaturity) Sorry about that. And welcome!
Hello Knotting, Welcome to the Writing Forums. Posting your own work should not be the very first thing you do here. It is really worthwhile to see what other people have done to improve their writing, and see if some of it applies to your writing as well. That is part of why we require members to review other members' work before posting their own for review. On the other hand, there are no restrictions, other than content and copyright rules, on showcasing your work in your member blog. If you haven't explored the site yet, you should probably do so soon. Newcomers often gravitate to the Lounge, the Word Games, or the Review Room, but there is much more to be discovered if you poke in the corners. Remember to check out our FAQ as well, and be sure to read through the forum rules, too, to avoid any misunderstandings or hurt feelings. Respect for one another is our principal mandate. As for the Review Room, new joiners often wonder why we do things a bit differently on this site than on other writing sites. We emphasize reviewing as a critical writing skill. Training your eye by reviewing other people's work helps you improve your own writing even before you present it for others to see. Therefore, we ask members to review other people's writing before posting work of their own. The Review Room forums on this site, therefore, are true workshops, not just a bulletin board for displaying your work (and on that note, please only post each item for review in one Review Room forum). See this post, Why Write Reviews Before Posting My Work? for more information. Enjoy your stay here, and have fun!
Welcome. It's always nice to meet someone who actually wants to read and review other people's work. I'm glad you found this place. I really liked your introduction.
