There's no reason the forum shouldn't have one, and too many to list in favor of one. What do you think?
It will allow an outlet for arguments to be placed in a controlled setting; that way things won't get out of hand, not to mention it's really cool to discuss current events.
As long as you dont need to have some kind of different status- like having to apply for it- I wouldnt have a problem...
No no no no no. The debate forum at WF.com is the location of massive amounts of flaming and member dissent. More members have left WF.com because of that forum than any other single cause. There is no need to have such a forum, which has the potential to just be a place where people go to pick fights.
Actually, Axis is right. I've seen other forums go "ppbth" because of a debate that turned into, basically, nine-year-olds who's decisions were influenced by their parents VS. fifteen-year-olds who's decisions were influenced by the idea that whatever everyone else hated had to be cool. Debate forums could be a bad idea, especially after seeing the...er...chemistry a few members have between each other.
Hmm... I will consider it. I run another forum that's a political/science/philosophy forum. Basically a debate forum. Activity isn't that high, but we have had few problems. I'll think about it and try to get back to you. More input is welcome.
If I was a debater, I'd be a master-debater. I'm an Abator (asbestos) so I CAN call myself a master-Abater. My new goal in life is to be a really good fish baitor on a huge boat so then I could call myself a master-baiter.

hahahahaha sorry but that is hilarious.....good one..... And debate forums can be good things, but you would really have to be veery careful. I mean it would have to be very controlled as it may get out of hand very quickly. I joined a forum that had a great debate area, and then with one wrong comment by one member, the forum had lost over 50 members. It was pretty bad to see. Now that forum has closed down completely. Which I was really disappointed in as it was a lot of fun there. But yeah id you decide to have one Lp, just make sure that you have a sound set of rules and that people are going to respect them too. I would hate the same thing to happen here, although people here seem very mature when it comes to debating here already. Ariella
