This was just a first idea, and something I intend to write to take a break from my novel. I said it was a short story. I've not thought through the exact elements yet, of course I want to make it believable, but I don't want to get bogged down in science theories. It is just a device to create an interesting conversation of great minds, so I was going to concentrate more on the human element. I am steering well clear of brain chips, but having read this thread, I now really like the idea that the scientist goes to the trouble of cloning his heroes, only to find Mozart can't play the piano etc etc
