Ok, Now, that should keep people busy for a little while! Any questions about what to do, or anything at all really, let me know!
Ok, something is up with my laptop in that it enjoys denying me access to this website, and only this website, at random intervals of days. It's usually restricted to weekends, but I haven't been able to get to the site since Sunday. I can usually get around this with the campus website, but if I seem to fall silent for unusually long time periods, you know why. Are any characters other than Irinium at the Gibrani siege, then? You've done a nice initiation of the attack, but I think for now it is a peripheral event to most of the characters, yeah?
@Cynglen Inirum and Poladora's other character, Galigut, should be there. And while it is still a peripheral event, it's going to have some pretty serious ramifications in Coranum. After another post or two, I've got something planned to get things going in Coranum. I leave it up to you what you want Brezzo and Company to do, but there will be things happening to affect them more directly soon. Feel free to write about Jarn's reaction to the attack if you want! Sorry about your laptop!
Alright, just wanted to check in to make sure I hadn't missed some serious traveling. I'll be busy with them special samples for Malief for awhile anyway.
Hey'o. I'm about to write up my next post, I just had a quick question about the Imperium gunships and defense technology in general. I know that citizens carry shields only penetrable by melee weapons and such. Is there a certain limit that the shields can absorb? And are the ones carried on gunships of a more powerful technology?
Alright! Info dump time! 1. Shield Tech (This is straight out of Dune BTW) Shields operate on a principle of forming a hardened photon barrier around the wearer. It repels anything with kinetic energy above a certain threshold. Their energy supply will only last so long against heavy Projectile Weaponry. If you hammer away at a personal shield long enough with enough force, it will fail. However, Energy Weapons such as lasers, phasers, etc. create a feedback loop off the shield. The laser weapon and the shield will explode, sometimes catastrophically. That is why there is a prevalence of projectile weapons, lesser chance of accidentally hitting a shield and dying. 2. Imperial Gunships- The Principe Militum has always sought to have a clear advantage over their enemies, and to achieve this, they developed the Imperial Gunship. It is heavily armored and armed. Sporting a kinetic accelerator (rail gun) that runs laterally along the underside of the ship, two banks of anti-missle laser counters, two high caliber chain guns on each side, and missile banks. Three to four direct missile hits are required to down one. The shields aboard the gunships are extremely heavy, nothing short of a fusion bomb can drop them normally. However, missile technology has compensated. Missiles and rockets are designed to lock onto their target, and at the last moment before impacting the shield, drop their speed drastically to punch through the shield. Once inside, they detonate. The explosion is contained by the shield, magnifying it's power. The first penetrating hit will usually drop the shield, they aren't designed to hold explosions in. After that, the ship will most likely be crippled, but still a severe threat. Following strikes will further cripple the ship, until it's suspensor jets fail and it will crash. The hard part about scoring hits on Imperial Gunships is the Anti Missile Batteries. The most effective technique is to launch missiles in swarms and hope one or two break through the defenses. There is also the idea of placing a shield on a missile, and intentionally allowing it to be hit with the laser, but the results are to unpredictable, and the cost to high to shield missiles to make it a practical approach for normal situations. Hope that answers your questions!
Finally got it up! Apologies if I got carried away, that certainly is a wall of text. Heh. Also, I should practice formatting these posts to be a bit more aesthetic. Details, details. I hope it meets with your approval, anyhow. Cheers.
Forgot to say, Awesome post PolaDora! Ok guys, I need another Post then Imma make some more stuff happen!
Yup! I should clarify the nature of the explosion tho. The entire temple was not destroyed, only a small part that was in the line of the explosion, which shot straight up. The vast majority of this inside were alright. It was more of a shock tactic than anything. But who is behind the attack?! Patience *Rubs hands together saying "Yessss, Yessss! Mwhahahahaa*
I know who can be blamed for this. But I don't know who is or are the others that must be blamed for this.
Well I certainly missed a bit. The internet here just doesn't like this site, so I'll try to get in something later today but don't be surprised if I don't.
Depends on whether or not Tezz is going to go at this mission alone. If he does...I'll need something to do with Fay.
Hey guys! Sorry for being MIA. My little brother had a bad accident last weekend and I've been in hospital with him and then taking care of him at home and getting back to work and normal routine now. If I'm too late for something, you can do what you will with my character Pheonix, but maybe I can yet rejoin!
