So much has happened this is nice. I'm going to write Magnolia's thoughts but Roxy should come clean soon. Or maybe perhaps after the moon elf arrives. Right now Magnolia thinks your all a bunch of babies
Welcome to the game, Sea Wolf! That concept with a die sounds interesting, I look forward to reading what you write too! And, yep, in my next post Roxy will try to give an explanation. Although, I'm not sure how your characters are going to take the truth. It's a hard thing to accept the fact that you're fictional.
Roxy might be in for a shock when she finds out alternative perspectives. Just because something hasn't been proven does not mean it is not real. There is truth in legends and legends make up history. To tell these characters that they are mere fiction would be to tell a person, you aren't real, just a figment of imagination. Nothing you have done or felt really mattered. It was all just a dream. Somewhere...at sometime, even if it is just within the pages of their stories, these characters are real. They became real the minute their authors created their stories, felt their emotions and dreamed their dreams. Roxy uses magic, albeit, not well yet...So how can she say these characters are mere fiction when their actions and emotions have been very, very real.
For sure. Tina is gonna be like, "I travel through portals to other worlds all the time. This is just another one of those times, and there happens to be an awesome book about me here."
Darkkin, well put! I agree with you wholeheartedly. That's what makes books and these RPGs so much fun to read and write. Plus most of what we, as real humans, write we have felt or done. The story and my characters are very real to me, and that's why I will always love writing. Roxy, on the other hand, is not like me...so you'll have to put up with her flawed thinking. At this moment she's very upset at being confronted. All of this anger is blurring the perspective she had started with being a passionate reader of these stories. Perhaps, she's more upset that the characters aren't what she imagined they would be like. She thought they would be nicer.
The various reactions from the characters will be intriguing. I think part of the evolving storyline should be a furthering of the understanding that these characters are actually real. Flawed and breathing, even if up until now they have only been seen as words. Roxy summoned them and as they have appeared, she had to believe in the possibility on some level. The reactions of the others will be a treat to read. This will be a fun point to defend.
Not sure what Magnolia will think of this. To suddenly be faced with the possibility that all her suffering was for the enjoyment of some bored student. (AKA me.) It might just be too much for her. Matter a fact when I first thought the idea a voice in the back of my head went. "Magnolia isn't a story book character? she's real...wait no she is a story book character!" It was quiet the moment. Amazing how drawn one can get.
Let the debate begin! And, boy was Roxy harsh...she probably does deserve another smack this time or something even worse.
What a relief!! haha And, yes, I do want us to get out of this stuffy library...hmm, where would you all like to head? Scene of the crime? Sight-seeing? We shouldn't get too far though since Sea Wolf hasn't introduced his character yet. I'm planning on doing more with Silas too, which we may run into unexpectedly once we are in town. Any ideas? I'll negotiate.
I think your character needs to start explaining what's going on then lead us to where the baddies are.
Yes, I shall do that! (I've actually had an explanation written out...just waiting for the right time.) Roxy doesn't know where her family was taken, that will be Silas' job to lead you there. In his smooth-talking, lying way. hehe
Just a question of Roxy's abilities. If my character were to find a book of himself, would she be able to bring in some of his troops?
Oh my gosh that would be hilarious if Magnolia got arrested! Although, I don't think she would be bound for long. Great idea of having a police chase, that could break us up too, with Silas finding one of the groups. Depending on what happens next, that could be an awesome possibility. @Snowmantheory You can have NPCs if you want. How do you know that they weren't pulled with Comedy, and are currently in the library this instant? (If they will play major roles though in need of a character sheet, can you PM me?) Ps~Great intro post, Sea Wolf. Welcome aboard!
I'll pm you the details of his whole little army. I think they may have gotten lost in the library's basement
You have no idea how much I laughed at your last post, Exzalia. And I am so excited too!! Lots of fun awaits!
