Well I'm sorry for being harsh, but we get pretty touchy when the rules are broken. Think about it this away, if someone runs up in the middle of the super bowl wearing a tutu, carrying a lacrosse stick, and shouting about getting a hole in one, no one is going to politely go up and tell them that they're wrong. There will be lots of yelling. There aren't many RPGers left here, and we do get touchy about the rules. Besides Leaka, I'm the oldest member here, so we deserve to be angry. But Dustin has the right to be angry. From his point of view, you've corrupted his delicately handcrafted world. I hope you can understand why we got angry. If you really want to join an RPG, I'm starting one up in a while that a character like Charlie, although with some editing, could possibly fit into. So I'm sorry about being harsh, but you have to understand, you broke the rules. Also, just to constructively clear up what rules you broke (so you won't break them again), here's what you did wrong. 1. The first thing you must do before entering any part of forum, is read all the rules. They are important, and they are expected to be read. 2. The reason your post was locked was because you didn't follow this rule, "Posting in the Review Room requires 2 or more constructive critiques of other members' work for each new posted work." The reason you were given no warning, is because you are expected to read the rules. It's a rule set up by the owner of the site. Rules are meant to be followed. The purpose is to keep out people who only want to show of their own work. The whole purpose of the sight is to create a community of writers who work together. 3. The rule on taking over character's works as follows: You have absolutely no control whatsoever over another players character. Why? Because it isn't your character. To exemplify the point, if you throw a rock at Trucido, you can't say that it hit. You can only say that it was thrown. Because I may want Trucido to dodge it, and considering that he's really fast, he would dodge it. Or if you say hi to a character, and say that they responded with hi, that would be wrong. That person may want their character to say, buzz off. So having someone else's character say something as simple as high, isn't allowed without permission from that player. 4. The reason Charlie's gear was rejected was because it didn't fit. Think about it, were there any storm troopers in harry potter? Any unicorns in jurassic park? The car and gun don't fit the setting. And adding them without asking feels like you're corrupting the world. We're sensitive about our worlds because we work on them for a long time. It's like adding some weird brush strokes on a master painting. It may add to it, but it feels like you've corrupted it. 5. Charlie's actions were rejected because they also didn't fit. They also went against the grain. You aren't the GM (The boss), so you aren't allowed to make really big decisions like "Lets move things forward, i'll start by creating mass chaos that doesn't need to be there". It's not allowed, and it doesn't fit in. 6. Originality is widely accepted. Absurdity isn't. That's why Gandalf can fight giant hell demons but not shoot laser cannons. It's why Scarlet can rain down fireballs but Charlie can't have a gun. There's a point at which originality passes by the accepted limit. In fantasy settings, guns are rare. Generally, even ancient models are rare, if not non-existent. Fantasy and Sci-fi are seperate genres. They are allowed to mix, and they're allowed to mix with modern settings. But not in this RPG. This is a fantasy RPG, so Fantasy elements should be applied. If you wanted to be original, you should have done something unique with magic. I.E. blend yellow, blue, and green fire to make solidified thunder bolts that can be used as weapons. You can be unique and original within the genre. That's why I can add magic crystals and magic circles. But I asked first, and made sure it was allowed. So I'm sorry we were harsh. But there are rules, they are expected to be read, and they are expected to be followed. When they aren't, people get mad. Its like that everywhere. Except in some places, (China, part of the middle east, crime rings, some african countries) when you don't follow the rules, you get executed. Once again, Dustin has more right than anyone to be mad. So his second chance is a very nice gift. I apologize for being rude. But you really do need to read the rules!
I did read the rules, multiple times in fact before i joined in I didnt realise that what i was doing was GMing, and taking control over other characters, im very sorry. I apologise if it appears that i was undermining your fantasy world Dustin, I really wasnt trying to. Im glad you are offering me a second chance, and that you both acknowledged that you were a tad insulting. I am now eagre to pm you with a new character idea and rejoin the thread. It would appear I'm a little too late to say anything about your post Lebby, other than what everyone else has said...so yeah lol i'm glad you've seen what went wrong and I'm interested to see what character you create more people is always fun, and you do seem like a good writer. (p.s. not trying to be rude or anything, but Aali has two a's )

Okay, I have approved Lebby's new character. And just for reference (Lebby's and Forgotten's mostly, as the rest of the characters probably don't know this) the bandits were called the Brazen Raiders and the leader's name was Richard Boss. I never really found an opportunity to relay this information while they were still around. I'll make a post as soon as I decide what to say.

Heres my new character, he has been approved of, nice and official like. Name: Mathias Ballador Age: 23 Sex: Male Height: Tall Appearance: Very rugged, courtesy of a life lived in the forest. He has dark tanned skin, long unkempt brown hair (concealed by his bandana). He is unshaven, and sports a scar across his right cheek. His eyes are blue. Background: Mathias was born into the Brazen Bandits (The bandit clan that captured the heroes, and that Trucido destroyed). His whole life has been spent kidnapping, robbing and murdering. He had become one of the most respected members of the clan, due to him having lived amongst it his entire life. He knows next to nothing about life outside the forest. Personality: He has been driven to grief, due to his parents deaths at the hands of Trucido (he loved his parents dearly). he now thinks only of revenge, and holds a bitter hatred for the heroes. When he was young, his parents spun tales that they are living on the edge of a corrupt and oppressive society, and that by robbing from the rich, they were fighting for their own rights. As such Mathias believes that activities such as pillaging, and murder are acceptable. And he whole heartedly thinks that he has been wronged. He now seeks to infiltrate the group, and betray it when the opportunity arrises, and then exact his revenge on Trucido. Weapons/Armor: He wears a leather brigandine, and wields two shortswords, which he holds in each hand. Elemental school: Mathias can imbue his swords with blue fire, enabling him to channel frost blasts, and other effects through his swords. This art is known as Spellslashing. Socioeconomic status: Outlaw
Yays! See? No problems with this character. (Except for the personal conflict with Trucido. But thats just me) Also, when the time comes for him to betray us (if that does indeed happen, he might change his mind), you must be very delicate with the proceeding. Fights between players are very delicate because each side must not control the other, but neither side can be invincible. Someone has to lose. But that is for a later time. And besides the part about being underage, some Chianti sounds delicious.
Dont worry. What im thinking of doing is Mathias approaching the group masquerading as a grateful farmer, for the heroes defeating the bandit clan. he will then offer to guide the group out of the forest, and into the desert. If they say yes, eventually he will attempt to find a way to seperate Trucido and Scarlet (to make trucido suffer by harming his love interest) from the group. I am thinking Mathias will say 'There are many creatures along the border of the forest, i wonder if i perhaps may borrow someone gifted in stealth (trucido) and another gifted in powerful magic (scarlet) to scout ahead" then we'll see how it plays out from there

Meh, drinking is overrated anyway. @Lebby: That sounds fun, but what is the long term plan? That sounds like a mini-story in itself. Its doubtful that Mathias will kill both of them, and we are the protagonists after all; I assume we win in the end... So how will Mathias proceed after he attempts his plan? Will he continue to stalk to team? have a change of heart and join us? Die and be replaced by another character?
Oh and FMemories, don't forget that some of the group including Rainin don't know that Trucy is the dragon.
I am thinking that Mathias will have started to befriend and like Scarlet as they travel, and eventually he will attack both Scarlet and Trucido, and have them both at his mercy. He will then proceed to torture Scarlet in front of Trucido (so Trucido feels the pain of watching his loved ones die, like Mathias did). But then Scarlet will plead for Mathias to stop, and Mathias will realise he likes Scarlet to much to continue, and he releases them both, and collapses with grief and self loathing, letting the rest of the group capture him. After that i think that the group will reluctantly let Mathias continue to guide them, but are still very mistrustful.
Since I'm involved, I expect it to work like this: malthus grows close to Scarlet while attempting to separate the two and later kill them. Eventually, (probably at an important point, like nearby a great flame) Malthus executes his plan and gets into a fight with Trucido. Something crazy happens (like Malthus absorbs a great flame or uses some awesome magic weapon or something) and Trucido is getting beat by him. Just before Malthus strikes, a crying Scarlet jumps in between and says something really sad and sappy. Most likely, Malthus stops attacking and goes off somewhere else. Trucido tries to follow, but is to weak. Knowing that thing cant work like this, Scarlet follows. Fighting ensues, with lots of sappy talk inbetween attacks. Malthus wins, and is about to kill Scarlet, but begins crying. He can't kill someone so nice and kind. he breaks down, and Scarlet comforts him. Trucido hates him, but later on Malthus does something cool and good for Trucido and Trucido forgives him and they become best friends. Happy ever after. At least, that's my expectation. Hmm... Or Lebbys idea. That works. (I still think Mathias will need to get a super strength boost first)
Mathias's abilities havent really been shown yet, he can channel blue flame through his swords, using them like wands. He can lift people up, and hold them there in the air, then send surges of energy at them, leaving them in great pain, he can also kill them. If he doesnt do that he can use his swords in the traditional manner. i like your idea though honorious, ill consider it
