Do I include my pen name on KDP when submitting Tax Identity Information?

There is a box for my name, so of course I wrote my full name but another box is for "Business or Trade Name (Optional)"

Again, I'm on KDP and it is asking for Tax Identity Information,

I plan on using only my pen name to publish work on KDP, so do I need to write my pen name into the tax information page? I want to be as anonymous as possible but I also want to be legally protected.

 

My understand is Amazon wants your real name there. It makes sense because they have tax reporting obligations to comply with.

 

You only submit pen names when you submit pieces of writing. Your real name is not revealed publicly and your sperate pen names will not be connected publicly either.

 

The pen name will be connected to her real name in her Amazon account. I think that's what she is worried about.
