    Yeah, great way to put it. The more organic the immersion process for the reader, the more authentic it will feel. And there's a zillion tricks and gadgets for subverting the necessary dumps when needed.

    Nah, it sounds like this should be a drinking game.

    Anyway, what I like in sci-fi is using real science and expanding on it in a fantasy way. An example would be Lightsabers. Lasers are real and can cut through a lot of things. So why not make a laser sword? It's not only plausible in this fantasy world, but could work the same in ours. (But may just extend forever and ever because the laws of light, etc.)
