So perhaps its an individual thing.
I've recently decided to make a go of the full-time fiction writer thing. I still do the bare minimum of my freelance writing work so my kids don't starve or anything, but the focus is 90% on fiction. I doubt this decision every minute, but I'm dedicated to it none-the-less.
