I read a review of a science fiction novel which sounded interesting, but unfortunately I didn't take note of the title, and forgot where I read about it. The premise is something like this: A number of monuments start appearing all over the world, one by one. They seem to appear out of thin air, and commemorate the victories of a future ruler. The dates on the monuments are set in the future, and slowly, the date of the first alleged victory approaches.
Yes, The Chronoliths by Robert Charles Wilson. Though not solicited, he also wrote Darwinia which was quite an intriguing novel.
