I guess I am doing things a little backwards. I posted a few times before I realized I had better introduce myself first. I started an account almost a year ago and apparently never got around to posting. Perhaps I have been too busy writing. But I have learned a lot on here from reading other people's posts. It has been very informative. I have had a love of writing since I was about thirteen when I attempted to start my first novel which was about Irish immigration in the 1840's. I didn't know much about outlining or plot or character development back then, so it was pretty pathetic. My novel just sort of wandered aimlessly, till I got bored of it. I have always enjoyed historical fiction, both to read and write. I generally prefer more obscure history that not everyone knows about and love to bring it to life for a reader. I have two questions and I am not sure where to put these. One of them is, are we not allowed to post any of our work in the Writing Workshop until a set amount of posts? I do not see anywhere to start a new thread. Also, for some reason, writingforums.org somehow managed to choose my name as a user name and I see no way to change this. Can a moderator help me with this? I was not pleased when I saw this. When I put my name down, I did not think it would be a user name. Anyway, it is great to be here and I can't wait to learn even more!
