As the pirates walked away, Atrius smiled in triumph. They had prevailed, and had gotten a ship and a hat out of the deal. A few feet away, Incendia looked like she had woken up and the rest of them seemed to be doing fine. Lucas wasn't heavily wounded, as far as he could see, except for his leg, Deathblade and Incendia were fine, and Anna seemed happy. "We should check out our new ship." Atrius said, peering over to the entrance of the ship. "Dibs on the big cabin."
As the pirates dissipated, a stocky, miniature figure glowing in a silver radiance in fine white robes round the corner and enter the docks. He seemed to have an odd limp. When he reached the group, he was panting heavily. He doubled over and rested on his knees for a few seconds before saying between huffs, "Why... didn't... anyone... wake... me... up?!?"
"We should check out our new ship. Dibs on the big cabin." "I agree," said Anna, making her way towards the ship. "This is no time for small talk." "Wait!" Luke called after her, stopping her in her tracks. "We have to wait for the others. They haven't come back yet with the supplies." When Agnorth showed up, Lucas couldn't help but smile. "Sorry, friend. We were in a hurry this morning. Did you happen to see anyone on your way here?" He was starting to wonder where the others had gone. * * * The others were, in fact, already on their way back, carrying with them enough supplies to last a few days at sea - food, clothes, tools, and other supplies. When they reached the docks, they were shocked to find the dead body of two pirates and a wounded Lucas. "What happened here?" Sven questioned, smirking. "Is our brave leader already too weak to travel?"
how you holding up? "I think I'm doing a little better now, and I think that I can stand," Incendia answered. She managed to stand up wobbily but quickly lost her balance and fell onto Deathblade's shoulder with a small gasp of surprise and the slightest blush. She wasn't used to having to rely on other people or even being as weak as she felt right now.
She started to stand but just as quickly as she got up she fell. DB quickly caught her and noticed the slight flourish of her temperature, he even noticed he was slightly getting heated as well. He quickly stabalized her making sure that she didn't fall. "You sure you're okay this time?" He said warrily to the slightly wobbling Incendia.
You sure you're okay this time? "Uh, yeah, I'm okay," Incendia bluffed as she tried to steady herself. She managed to get herself standing but as soon as she took her hand off of Deathblade's shoulder she quickly lost her balance once more. This time though she managed to support herself on Deathblade's shoulder with one of her hands instead of falling over again. "Maybe, I... might need a little help..."
"Maybe, I... might need a little help..." This time she managed to catch his shoulder, "yeah okay then," wrapping her arm around his neck and keeping a grip on her hand he started walking with her towards the newly acquired ship.
"yeah okay then," wrapping her arm around his neck and keeping a grip on her hand he started walking with her towards the newly acquired ship. "Thank you..." Incendia said as she thanked Deathblade shyly. It was an odd feeling for her; being shy. It wasn't natural. Her face felt warm, her body trembled, and her heart gave a flutter from time to time. She couldn't understand it. "Why am I acting like this?" She asked herself, unable to provide herself with a real answer. "It must be because of that bump on my head," she told herself, knowing that it was a lie. "Maybe we should take a look around the ship, Deathblade," she suggested once they had managed to stumble over to the ship.
"Maybe we should take a look around the ship, Deathblade," "agreed, we should probably find you a cabin to sleep in, you're going to need the rest after a bump like that."
agreed, we should probably find you a cabin to sleep in, you're going to need the rest after a bump like that. "Yeah, you're probably right." Incendia answered. They soon found a room that she liked; it was a smaller room, but it had a window with a nice view of the ocean and a bed with a pretty blue comforter. "This room is nice, it has a beautiful view of the ocean to. Come look, Deathblade." Incendia suggested as she kneeled on the bed and looked out the window.

"This room is nice, it has a beautiful view of the ocean to. Come look, Deathblade." Incendia suggested as she kneeled on the bed and looked out the window. He took a look outside with her, he nodded, "yes it is very nice." He looked to her and saw that her eyes were sparkling, the ocean glinting in them. He turned around and found a chair in the corner and sat in it. "I'll stay here tonight, so you don't fall out of your bed and bump your head," he said with a grin.
"I'll stay here tonight, so you don't fall out of your bed and bump your head," he said with a grin. "Thank you. Don't get to comfortable quite yet though, I still need to change." Looking over to the small wardrobe on the other side of the room she said, "I wonder if they left any clothes in that wardrobe?" She got up off the bed, wobbly at first, and worked her way to the dresser, supporting herself with a hand on the wall. "Oh look! They left a night gown and a spare dress!" Incendia said as she opened the wardrobe and saw a pretty blue dress, quite similar to her own, and a light blue night gown. As soon as she saw the new clothes though, a wave of pain shot through her head once more and she fell backwards once again.
"Thank you. Don't get to comfortable quite yet though, I still need to change." He chuckled a bit, "alright I won't." "I wonder if they left any clothes in that wardrobe?" She got up off the bed, wobbly at first, and worked her way to the dresser, supporting herself with a hand on the wall. "Oh look! They left a night gown and a spare dress!" Incendia said as she opened the wardrobe and saw a pretty blue dress, quite similar to her own, and a light blue night gown. He smiled at her joy, she seemed so very carefree, especially considering the crew of this ship had left clothing in it that was very thoughtful. Then all of a sudden she got this look and she began to fall. He was on his feet nearly knocking over the chair and caught her in time. "Yeah, I'll definately be staying here for the night, you can count on it," he chuckled a bit then got serious, "you okay?"
"Yeah, I'll definately be staying here for the night, you can count on it," he chuckled a bit then got serious, "you okay?" "Um, yeah, thank you, I think I'll just change a bit later. I think I'd better lay down for a bit." Her head hurt, and she was dizzy, and she felt like she had a bad fever. But she shouldn't have a fever from hitting her head; this was from something else. It was from the same source that made her stomach flutter and her face grow red every time she was caught by Deathblade. She couldn't understand it. What was wrong with her? "Could you help me to my bed, Deathblade?"
He noticed the tiny bit of flushing from her face again, he even noticed it on his own body as well. "Could you help me to my bed, Deathblade?" "of course," he hefted her up in his arms, her arm coming around his neck. He walked over to the bed placing her down on it. "Now you just rest, I'm going to go check on the others." He turned around towards the door, just before leaving he turned and said, "don't worry I'll be back." He then exited.
For some reason, a reason that Incendia herself didn't know, she wanted Deathblade to stay a little longer. But she knew that she really needed to rest, so she settled herself in her bed a closed her eyes. And almost instantaneously she was asleep.
Well, it was settled. They were leaving. Now there was no turning back. And all of it made Luke feel a bit sick to his stomach. He'd never sailed in a ship before, and he wasn't exactly a veteran at saving the world from evil. Sailing in a ship wasn't even the worst of it; after they made it past the sea, which was supposedly impossible to cross anyway, they would have to face the portal . . . and the demons . . . He wasn't really looking forward to that. Regardless, he followed Deathblade, Incendia, and Atrius towards the ship, not taking any time at all to pick a room. Lucas ended up with a rather small room towards the front of the ship. Laying down his packs and other personal items, he exited the room, deciding to check up on the others. He found Deathblade walking down the corridor in his direction after having left Incendia's room. "Is everything alright?" Luke questioned, concerned for his companions. "Incendia's OK, then?" Looking around, he noticed that hardly anyone else was in the ship. "Where is everyone? We're leaving soon, no matter if everyone's ready or not." Annaleigh had already chosen a room, and she made her way towards the two men in the middle of the hallway. "Almost everyone is on board, Lucas. We'd best be leaving now." "She's right, you know." It was Sven who spoke. He'd snuck up on them, taking up a stance behind Anna and nearly scaring her out of her shoes. Placing a hand on her shoulder with a somewhat seductive smirk on his face, he continued. "I'm so sick of waiting. Let's get out of here." "Right." Anna rolled her eyes and shrugged his hand away, looking up at Luke and Deathblade while waiting for an answer.
As soon as he exited the room he found Lucas in front of him, "Is everything alright?" Luke questioned, concerned for his companions. "Incendia's OK, then?" Looking around, he noticed that hardly anyone else was in the ship. "Where is everyone? We're leaving soon, no matter if everyone's ready or not." "Yes Luke Incendia's fine, she's just sleeping right now keep it down a bit. As for everyone else I'm sure they're all on board." Then Anna approached them, "Almost everyone is on board, Lucas. We'd best be leaving now." "speak of the devil." "She's right, you know." It was Sven who spoke. He'd snuck up on them, taking up a stance behind Anna and nearly scaring her out of her shoes. Placing a hand on her shoulder with a somewhat seductive smirk on his face, he continued. "I'm so sick of waiting. Let's get out of here." He looked at the man unexpressionless, "are we really bringing him along? If so then Anna is right we'd best be leaving, and soon, storms aren't exactly the best things to be running into." He looked at Lucas' still bleeding shoulder, "you'd better get that checked on Luke," he turned to Anna, "if you'd kindly?"
"Ahhhhhhhh....." Agnorth sighed as he slowly collapsed on his bed. His night on cold stone and old age began to catch up with him, making his muscles ache and bones crack. For a few minutes he tried to take a nap, but found that sleep eluded him. He wanted to do something. He heard the voice of Luke in the hallway, and decided to inquire as to whether there was anything he could do.
"Oh," Anna said, remembering Luke's injuries. She'd completely forgotten about them . . . almost. Other things had been on her mind. "Yes, of course." Smiling apologetically, she made quick work of healing his injuries. "Does that feel better?" "Yeah, thanks." He did feel a lot better. "I'm afraid we are taking him along, Deathblade, but I still don't know why. We'd be better off leaving him here. Sven would fit right along with these pirates, I'm sure." "That's what you think," Sven said angrily, storming off to his room. Luke was glad he was gone. "I'm not exactly the best sailor. Well . . . to be honest, I've never sailed a ship in my life," he said, embarrassed. "I don't know how pleasant this voyage may be with me in charge."
"If you feel sick Luke you have two options, go see your sister, or come see me, I'd be glad to knock you out of submission again." He grinned. Then he straightened himself out and decided it best to leave the subject, "we should probably check on the others," then agnorth came along, "agnorth how you feeling?"
A wandering Atrius happened to catch a bit of the conversation, while looking through the supplies, wondering if they had gotten some more opium. He thought he was running out of it. "Does that feel better?" "Hey, that's discrimination. Your gods won't heal me but they'll heal him?" He said, taking a piece of bread out of the bag, and sipping it down with a drink from his flask. He then watched the recently healed Lucas and thought he was being impolite and offered him his flask. "Want some?"
"The gods will do whatever they damn well please, whether you want them to or not." "Been better, but I'll live." He turned to Luke. "Is there anything I can do around the ship?"
"Hey, that's discrimination. Your gods won't heal me but they'll heal him?" "Oh, Atrius, I'm sure you'll be just fine without the gods," Anna said, grinning. It was the first time she'd actually used his name. He'd best take it as a compliment; that would be considered a sign of friendship in her case. "You've been doing fine so far, at least." "Want some?" Atrius offered Luke a flask of alchohol, and Luke frowned, tempted to take it; however, looking down at his sister, he shook his head. "No thanks. I'll consider this a turning point in my life." Anna smiled at this, wrapping an arm around him comfortingly. "Is there anything I can do around the ship?" "Not that I know of. Well, you could make sure all of the supplies are loaded and everyone's on board. That's all I can think of, at any rate."
