    evenly dispersed?

Discussion in 'Word Mechanics' started by Fluxhavok, Jul 12, 2008.

i've seen this used before and i got to wondering wether or not it's grammatically correct. I always thought "disperse" meant to scatter without order. but adding "evenly" would suggest order... right?

i know i could easily google an answer but i thought i'd give some of you a chance to show off those powerful, sexy brains.

"disperse" could be used either way, but adding evenly makes it a bit more clear.

disperse in its most basic sense, simply means to break up, or spread out. As such it could be evenly or not...
so yes evenly dispersed is correct.
