    Exciting News

Discussion in 'The Lounge' started by Torana, Feb 22, 2008.

Two days ago now I received an email from a friend of mine saying that a publisher was hunting own some new poets to get published through them.

At first I wasn't going to bother as I didn't think that my poetry was that good to be honest. But he insisted that I send in a submission and if I got a rejection that I would get some amazing feedback.

So yesterday evening I sent off a submission with four of my poems in it to the publisher. Today when I checked my emails there was one from the publisher asking me to send off a manuscript of 40 - 80 poems so she could further review my poetry.

I may still get a rejection but the fact that she has asked to further review my work is a really great sign. I'm so damn excited and I had to share the good news with everyone.

I will keep you all posted on how I go with this. Fingers crossed that I get accepted. Now I just have to sift through everything and get my best pieces put together and sent off.

    WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOo
    HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!

    Thank you so much.

Either way I will get some fabulous feedback on my work and can resubmit again at a later date. So even a rejection isn't a bad thing. I'm just so excited she wants to view more.

I sent my valentine poem in though. I am surprised it didn't put her off....<giggle>

    heather thanks darl (hugs)

Maia thank you very kindly and the publisher is Wildchild Publishing. I'm sure you have heard of them before Maia. I buy all my books through them. I've found some really good pieces on there that is for sure. Plus they are pretty cheap. :)

    wow thank you maia.

I'm not in yet. I only sent the manuscript in yesterday. I could still get a rejection from them yet. But at least I have been given the opportunity to show my work. :)

Yeah pretty much. I only ever buy ebooks. I find it easier that way to be honest.

I bought a few paper back books and well....my little angels got a hold of them and that was the last I ever saw of them. So now if I read anything it is all online or ebooks. I just find it is easier for me to read from my laptop. A personal preferance I suppose.
