Hey sorry for no posts last night from me, I found myself unable to connect to the internet. The wifi I use is finicky at best. I have a good source this afternoon though, so I'll definitely get something out!

Haha, yeah. I used to live down the street from one when I was a kid.

Come to think of it, there are quite a few grocery store chains I don't see around anymore. Piggly Wiggly. Winn-Dixie. Ingles. (Actually, I think Winn-Dixie and Ingles are still in business, they just got majorly downsized. But I haven't seen a Piggly Wiggly or Red Owl in years.)

    I blame Wal-Mart.

Never heard of Red Owl, but I saw both a Winn-Dixie in Florida and Piggly Wiggly in Alabama on vacation last year. We don't have those in KY, just Wal-Mart and Kroger...guess we're not southern enough for them.

    Morning people!

I remember when we had Piggly Wiggle here in Illinois, but about 10-12 years ago they all shut down. My Grandma was very upset lol. For a few months, every time we visited her she would spend a half hour bemoaning the fall of her favorite grocery store lol

In Canada we still have some stores like Zellers (Though I haven't seen one in a while) but mostly things have been taken over by american companies namely Walmart (Sigh...Damn Americans taking over everything. (<_<))

Never seen a Piggly-Wiggly, I think Minnesota is too far north and west for that particular chain. We still have a few IGAs floating around, as well. You want to hear an awesome Grandma rant...Mention IGA in within earshot of my Grandma. She is a total hoot. :)

Agreed :D Walmart is a collective bastard. I still shop there though, mostly out of necessity...

I've never even heard of IGA... lol

*Sniff* now I miss my grandma and her irrational rantings... Never thought I would miss that... lol :')

Grandmas are the absolute best. I was lucky I had two sets of grandparents growing up. I still have one set, who still spoil me. ;)

I live in a college town. Here Wal-Mart is better known as Volde-Mart with good reason. There are some creepy folks there. I stick to Hy-Vee, which is just up the road. I walk whenever and wherever I can. Car runs fine, I just like the fresh air.

Darn, we don't have any cool exclusive grocery stores! But, around here Wally World is the place to be.

I'm pretty close to the Ohio border too so...yeah. Skyline, Dixie Chili, or Gold Star anyone? Yep I just moved onto our exclusive food. You gotta go to them if you ever visit. :D

It's an Ohioan/Northern Ky thang. ;) Spaghetti topped with chili and lots and lots of cheddar cheese. They also do the same to a hog dog, called a coney island. Look it up!

    Mmm...Italian beef does sound good...
