Trying out different style of writing is exciting especially they have not be tried before. 1) I have been recenlty thinking of writing a short story using only the positive style, meaning there would be no sentences like this: He did not. He would not. It was not. She did not. and only using the present tense. 2) Another idead I am thinking of exploring is of writing a short story alternating it with prose. For example instead of having a dialogue or inner thoughts or flashbacks I would have little poems to accompany the story. what others NEW ideas have you explored?
I am trying to write something vaguely satirical which I have never done before. Re your numero uno "positive style", have you seen the movie "Yes man"? If not, you should watch it.
Interesting stuff. I don't often mess around with style because it usually gets in the way of telling the story for me. My style is too much purple prose anyway without trying to do something else, lol.
haha....will do. I am all excited about it because at least I don't have to worry about other'grammar styles'. It should be fairly straight forward.
I tried to write a story in which I never said how the protagonist (3rd person) actually felt, just showed it through behavior. I've mostly given up that story, but not because of that quirk - just because I realized I hadn't done my research properly.
