To be honest why do people need to read that this is a forum about writing fair enough but if you like porn then go to a porn site sorry but you find porn at a porn site.

As for the language it was never an issue here until katherine arrived.
Now she has gone It shouldn't be an issue again.

People tore into indiana for over reacting but now people are deleting work and legging it from teh forums because one or two people are being lame? Kinda seems like an over reaction to me.

For the short time ive been here, Ive had no problems. I admit that katherine chick was a bit strange, but you know your going to get that occassionally.

And in the mean time, get back to your RP forum and tell me how Im going so far with my application thing. I've gotta finish the history and sample RP but they take more time.

Right, I haven't been here very long, no more than two weeks, but I am indeed no rookie when it comes to forum, or things of that nature, having been mod on several, and ran a few. I'm not trying to say I am better than anyone person here because frankly I'm not. I have been sucked into these type of things before, but in that I learned something a bit useful.

It's the internet, no matter how useful, or beneficial a site is there will be a problematic seedy underbelly, I don't care what site you are on.

Next, this is to Nexus, in the most respectful way possible. You mentioned, with some great trepidation, that people were leaving. Here's the thing, it happens, they come and they go, there is nothing you can do about it. When people get their feelings the least bit hurt, they bolt no matter how much we protest.

Censorship, where it's a big issue to many, it isn't to other. This won't become better, or easier to deal with either, the longer the site is up, the more it grows, and as a site with artistic liberties, especially one such as writing, you have to expect materials that are going to be less than acceptable to many. It is an issue that is unshakable, unless you wish to create a forum that is limiting beyond its original intent.

Like one poster said, create a locked, special association only type thread/section for censored materials. It works, and usually quite well. Simply use the board abilities, and in most instances it is an option that locks a section by password, or invitation only. Simply do that and allow those who want in to prove they can handle such endeavors.

Next. For those leaving, why? I know I said earlier people come and go, but that coin has another side, and if, like most of you mentioned, are hear for reviews, and the display of your materials, then there should be no need for you to leave. If you are getting rude reviews, put the person on ignore, and pay no mind to them. Flag the post that is mean, but make sure it is warranted, and not simply your hurt feelings driving the decision. Remember you came to the internet for help, and to show your work, so obviously people won't see it your way, or even like it possibly, and for that you can't fault them. Fact is some people have no tact.

Aside from that, just try and enjoy the forum, we are all here for one reason, furthering our own writing, and displaying our work for critique.

 

Im sorry Jack? Did you report any pedophilia to me on her part? Funny, I dont remember anyone telling me she was messaging them with pedophilic stuff.

I remember people being offended at her posts, but such is the life of someone who chooses to write dark stuff.

Her stuff was not my cup of tea and I personally found it distasteful. I read it all because of the hubbub it generated here. Dark, suicidal, violent, yes. But I did not particularly see one post that indicated pedophilia to me and no one bothered to tell me that this stuff was going on in the background.

Ariella thanks for helping me out privately to understand what was going on.

I unlocked the thread at the request of another user who felt that just because a thread could be considered offensive by another user, did not give any of us the right to censor it. I read that thread, I agreed, deleted Jacks useless comment about it being "sick". I personally had a hard time understanding her abstractness but I certainly did not see pedophilia.

I would be careful about accusing anyone of being a pedophile openly in a forum. It is libelous and could get the site shut down. If you have proof of this kind of activity, call the police or contact a mod but DO NOT start throwing around such heavy handed accusations in an open forum.

A few of you in here are starting to sound like a freaking lynch mob. I am going to take a break for a few days, Im sure Nexus will be able to handle moderating the forums since he has been so actively doing so in the last few months.

I need a rest from the drama.

Hulls Raven, Ariella, and the rest of you who have been supportive, I just want you to know that I deeply appreciate you and your gentle, peaceful manners. Im sorry you have to tolerate this junk.

I have contacts who can trace IP's and work for net safety organization. One that I used to volunteer for. If you have PROOF of her activity, contact me and I can help you with what to do with it.

Unfortunately, chats cannot be considered proof because they are too easily altered. But she can be checked out if you suspect that type of behaviour.

For future reference, if you think someone is a pedophile, you should report it right away. It saddens me that the way I find out about this is reading your accusations here instead of you letting me know about it before it got out of hand. So please, if u suspect such things, bring it to us right away.

If any of you feel you have enough evidence, PM me and I will tell you who to contact.

It is vital you tell us these things. We can't moniotr pms, so please show us an screenshot of some sort, pming it to one of the mods or Lp.
As Lp said, ignore them, there is an ignore feature right?

On the issue of explicit stuff, such as porn and hardcore dealings, sex and explicit scenes, I am against this. There is freedom of speech yes, but, tbh I really don't want to see this forum turn into a wild, erotic fiction site, with all sorts of inappriorate stuff for younger people. True, you check an I agree box, if you want to register succesfully and there can be warnings in the topic title, but I still really amn't up for this whole erotic writing stuff. It's simple, if you want to write about this stuff and I'm not condemning you if you do, but there are other forums who specialise in this I am sure

On the topic of such things as incest and paedophile and messed up stuff such as that, I don't want that to be posted on the forum.
Hopefully, the mods will discuss these matters over the coming week

And remember, don't be afraid to speak up.
