One of us is losing it. You say it 13 posts down from the top of this page. Holy shit. It's me who's losing it It was Selbbin who asked if TLoU was linear. But.... but, when you said "Wait. You have the game already!?" that was in reference to a quote by Acanthophis who was talking about TLoU.
pOST 138 He means I believe. In which you say that. EDIT: Nevermind XD, someone else pointed it out or well resolved it
I'm just trying to avoid spoilers. But now my favorite Youtube channels are posting them up since the embargo has been lifted. Must not watch...must not watch! Someone, ban me from the internet for the next 48 hours!!
This is where I do some soul searching. I always said I never cared about graphics, just gameplay. Was I for real or full of shit?
I share your pain I'm really not fussed about the graphics and I think some of the criticism has been a bit unfair. Fallout's landscape is mostly rubble and arid land, and its colour palette is largely limited to brown and grey. I don't think you're going to get a good impression of the game's graphics from the bits and pieces we've seen. I think a lot of the improvements will be quite subtle.
Hey just saying what I see. http://www.vg247.com/2015/11/09/fallout-4-reviews-round-up-ps4-xbox-one-pc/ http://www.gamespot.com/articles/fallout-4-review-roundup/1100-6432112/ Mostly 9's and 9.5's like I said but got a couple 5/5's, so you were right there is no 10/10 but figure 5/5 is another way of saying it got a couple of perfect scores but either way, great scores overall. Which isn't surprising, expected as much . As for the graphics. Well they look fine enough, don't really bother me personally. They aren't perfect but that's just one small piece of the puzzle of the game.
Don't be an apologist. It got a 9/10 on IGN, which means it's really an 8 (mediocre graphics and great but not perfect gameplay.). I had expected an 8/10 on IGN, which really meant a 7. So Bethesda exceeded my expectations. That's a good thing.
BTW, if you have a good PC, just wait till modders come out with graphical enhancements...THEN play it !
Well wasn't trying to be an apologist, sorry if I came off that way truly wasn't my intent. The graphics just didn't bother me.....I'm not defending them but from the time Fallout 4 was announced I didn't expect the best looking game in the world. I never do with Bethesda in that department, their games have never been the ones to blow me away in the graphical area even with Skyrim which was an alright looking game for the time or well it captured the feel nicely. Though they've never blown me away in that area, so I expected it even before the game was released mostly. But your bet intrigued me (I love a bet), so I tried to use deductive reasoning from Bethesda's past games (Fallout 3, Morrowind , Oblivion and Skyrim) to get my hypothetical score. Do I think Fallout 4 is the perfect most best game ever? No but I'm hoping it will be damn good.....I haven't played it yet, gonna grab it tomorrow but I'm hoping for a fun time that will keep busy playing
First impressions several hours in, are 7.5. Combat is better than before, but this is the first Bethesda game I am playing without mods, and this game needs some mods. I will continue to run through it and see how it develops, I think they missed some story development opportunities at the beginning.

That's what I'm doing. Waiting for the series of patches that cure the bugs and glitches, waiting for the modding, and waiting for video card prices to drop, then it's upgrade time. Maybe 6 months?
Think i will wait a at least 5 months until mods are out to play the game. It's not like Bethesda is known for making flawless RPG's. I'm not really excited to play it though. F3 was terrible and NV was ruined by the dated game engine that completely restricted what they could do. Also last time i got excited for a bethesda RPG was Skyrim and that turned out to be terrible...
I returned for extra feedback, after playing the game some more. Best thing it has going for it is the sims built in feature that have you building settlements, and better crafting. Game is lacks a few features which would have made it more immersive, both in gameplay aspect and world designs. Verdict - if you are not a big fan of fallouts, wait for the mods to make the game better. Right now it's a 7.5 not more. Due to my schedule I will continue to play this game relentlessly in the next two weeks. I recommend trying to do Ironman runs on normal and avoiding stimpacks which can easily break the game. Companions are also pretty cheap, I am going to restart the game without companions because they don't add as much content as bioware companions do and they can easily cheapen the combat by constantly respawning and soaking damage. It's still a decent game, they just didn't improve much on it like they did from oblivion to skyrim. It's exactly what happened with GTA 5 which didn't improve a lot from GTA 4. Biggest con - Radio is disappointing, I don't listen to the soundtrack on fallout games and instead listen only to the radio, on this game the radio is subpar in comparison to fallout 3 and fallout new vegas.
Disappointing review. The reviews on Metacritic seem to be pretty tepid at best also. Yeah, I can definitely wait a while for the maximum experience on this one. Hope they bring it all out for the next TES game.
Dude, why are you playing fallout relentlessly when you could be writing???? Also, I don't think your GtA v comparison is fair, considering GTA V had outstanding graphics and a very refreshing environment.
