^ As mentioned I'm a fan of Game of Thrones but sadly I've yet to read the books. It's on my to do list though.
I'm in love with any character and plot Joe Abercrombie writes about....possibly even found true love!
My favorite characters include Samuel Hamilton of John Steinbeck's East of Eden, Pilar from Ernest Hemingway's For Whom The Bell Tolls, Atreyu of Michael Ende's The NeverEnding Story, Captain Nemo from Jules Verne's 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea, and Lazarus Long from various stories by Robert A. Heinlein. I don't really have a favorite plot, because I don't think much about plots. For me, plots are only interesting if they involve interesting characters.
I really loved Ren from Nightshade, over Shay. Maybe that's just because I'm guy crazy. XD I get pulled into stories only whenever I like one of the guys there. XD
If we are talking tv shows I'm really really liking Trueblood... Yeah yeah I know Vampires and barmaids.. but hey everyone has to have at least ONE guilty pleasure...
I just finished the first season of True Blood (I know, late to the party), and it's amazing. Glee is a guilty pleasure for me because it's so bad in so many ways, but I keep watching and hating myself a little bit for doing so. True Blood has some of the best writing around, and incredible actors and just the right degree of genre self-awareness. I didn't expect it to be anywhere near as good as it is, but it's one of my favourite shows now for sure.
^ IF you've never read the books you should... they're way better than the series.. I hate to admit to it but I watch glee too...
Well if we're talking TV series, then NCIS's Anthony DiNozzo [though it's really hard to pick a favorite; Gibbs, Ziva, McGee, Vance, Ducky -- they're all awesome]. From Smallville it'd be Green Arrow; from NCIS: Los Angeles it'd be Callen; from Hawaii Five-0 it'd be Danny and McGarrett; and Criminal Minds it'd be Morgan. Movies would just be impossible. There's too many.
Glee's probably the most popular show of the WF tv thread, so at least we can share the shame True Blood as well is one of my favourite shows to watch just for fun. It has some colourful characters, and not just the supernatural likes of Eric Northman. Lafayette is always entertaining, and Jason... I'd watch a spinoff show starring Jason. Even minor characters like Jessica and Hoyt are adorable. The only thing that makes the end of the Game of Thrones season bearable is more True Blood. Edit: I agree Arron about the show's self-awareness. I enjoy the show's dramatic plots, but I like it best as a comedy.
