Boy if you're gonna go around threatening men twice your size then you'd better do it right. Or better yet just keep your mouth shut.

 

Isn't this kind of a cliched name? I mean, every other fantasy novel one reads involves some country or other named "Arcadia," and all you have done here is make a minor alteration to the spelling.

 

I'm well aware that it's well used and that the change in spelling fools no one (not that it was my intention) but I like the name. I'm not writing this out of a desire for originality anyway. My current work is a borderline affectionate-parody of Fantasy RPGs and MMORPGs, and epic fantasy works in general. The magical energy is called mana. So yeah.

Currently, my favorite quote is from one of my 'work in progress' pieces called Split Worlds. It is said by my character Sarina Kenelm. Though she is not the main character she is a very important secondary character.

She is standing before a group of young Valkyrie who are being ready to be trained to hunt what they call the Tainted.

"Every single kill judgment that a Valkyrie brings down must be personal. How do you take a life without it being personal?"

 

"Look, there's no I in team..."

"No but there's a me. And if you want to do it right there's definitely no U."

There's so many ways to do that joke but damnit it's always funny.

 

My favourite joke by a character came to me one day and I'd like to know if anyone finds it funny at all -
CONTEXT - two werewolves suddenly find themselves in possession of a human who is screaming rather loudly. They have to keep him alive and train him rather than hunt him down.
"Hey, this is like that film, Three Men and a Baby! Except it's more...two men and a baby. Which I guess is pretty normal now."

 

It's funny but it's more of a groaner than a laugher.

 

That's what I'm aiming for - he has quite a few jokes that definitely fall flat in other character's eyes, and makes them at the worst of times.
